Dungeon Fighter Online Guide

I'm lazy VERY WIP

lv115 cap on 3/18/25 save the date! Lots of stuff to be added and removed... stay tuned...

This quick guide serves to answer questions a new player may have that are not covered elsewhere and help get them acclimated to the world of DFO.
>inb4 what new players

DISCLAIMER

DFO has a stamina system and it's impossible to play a single character for an extended amount of time. Making alts is encouraged by the game. If this sounds bad, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it you WILL not like DFO. Go find something else to play otherwise read on

Getting started

  • Download the launcher from the DFO website. The Steam launcher is buggy as new accounts will be automatically blocked within hours of playing and must be resolved by sending in a support ticket. Not many players choose to do so after such a negative experience and end up quitting already and not to mention the plethora of other issues. Do yourself a favor and avoid playing on Steam.
  • Play on Cain Server
  • Setup these useful keybinds in Settings (Default O) → Hotkey Settings
    System Alt Tag

Chat Alt Tag //monitor shows the ping of your party members.
//setitem gathers all the item drops in the room under your character. Best used after killing the boss.
//setcharacter teleports you to the entrance of a room in case you get stuck. Can also be used to dodge boss attacks if cheeky enough.

With that out of the way let's dive into the FAQ. For the lazys click below

I played DFO a long time ago, where are all my characters?

It's likely you've played when DFO was first brought to the west from 2010 until its shutdown in 2013. All data has been wiped since and wasn't transferred when Neople decided to revive and self publish DFO in 2015. You could also be on the other server's character screen somehow or perhaps logged in on a different account entirely.

When is daily reset?

09:00 AM UTC Weekly reset is on Tuesday.

Where the fuck is everyone?

Ch49 on the Elrox farming Mediator of Balance & Quantum Casino or in Seon.

Why is my name green in chat?

A green name (and text) means someone is a new or returning player who hasn't logged in over 30 days.

I can't party with my friend

The Seon expansion update on 2/20/24 restricted Act quests to become solo only effectively making DFO a single player game until level 110. Terrible decision I know. Supposedly it's to stop botnets from leveling and farming gold together.

How long does it take to reach level 110?

On a fresh account without access to any existing bonuses, exp capsules, and level up tickets, about a week.

I learned a skill but I can't use it

Starting at level 35, skills will require Clear Cube Fragments in order to perform. You can get some by disassembling equipment with the disassembler stationed outside every dungeon entrance. Don't disassemble all your gear though, you only want just enough cubes until you can find an area with player owned level 11 diassemblers which can maximize the amount of cubes from disassembling. For reference, the public disassemblers are roughly level 4.

My equipment inventory is full what do I keep/sell?

For unwanted gear, a general rule is to sell white/common, disassemble blue/uncommon, profession extract purple/rare, disassemble orange/legendary, disassemble gold/epic

Sometimes there's a white outline around my character in dungeons

A white outline means you are invincible. Few skills grant i-frames with most being grab attacks that hold you and the enemy in place for the duration. It's crucial to know which skills have i-frames for your class for it could save your life from a failed boss gimmick. For example, every class's Neo Awakening skill grants 6-7 seconds of invincibility even though you cannot see your character or the white outline.

I awakened but I still have default avatars unlike the ones shown in the skill previews

Unfortunately you don't get any avatars from Awakening. Awakened Ones, Awakened Ones the Second, and Neo: Awakened Ones are the names of the packages that contain said avatars. You can buy avatars from the Auction Hall and Avatar Market but expect to a pay a premium on them, more so on certain classes. Tradable versions of the original Awakened Ones avatars are really rare and have been only sold during a Black Friday sale in 2018 and also for very few classes upon their release (Ghostblade, Enchantress, and Spectre).

I'm level 110, now what?

This is where the real game starts. You will need to raise your fame by disassembling unwanted level 105 epics for boundary fragments to grow your gear's option levels. The Growth & Equipment Guide under the Info tab on the menu (ESC) can tell you exactly where to go and what dungeons to farm at the appropriate fame levels.

What weapon should I use?

Depends on your build but Aspect-Devoured is a solid choice for DPS classes. Buffers want to use First Step for the increased skill levels, Culmination can be used as a placeholder until then.

What build should I make?

The Forward Mover's Mind set also known as Barrier build is an excellent starter build. It's durablity scales very well off of HP and has fast movement speed and attack power. Any level 105 epics obtained during leveling can be converted into Forward Mover's Mind epics by talking to the Mystical Grimiore NPC in Seria's room. Once you have a full set, the next step is getting the newly added Memory set. These epics can not be converted into and must be earned either by drops or from boxes sold by the Mystical Grimiore. A more powerful version called Records and Traces can be acquired and be freely mixed and matched with the Memory set while in the process of upgrading.

Someone is "lf sader" but I'm an Enchantress/Muse

Sader is also a general term for buffer class.

Arad Supporters Program

Alt Tag

Too lazy? Feeling lost or confused? Overwhelmed? Think this guide sucks? Well my newfriend may I suggest The Arad Supporters Program? It's looking for new members just like you, yes (You)! Your account needs to be under 40k fame but that shouldn't be a problem, however... D*scord is required. (Make a burner) I don't know the full details but the premise is they assign a helper within or near your timezone to carry you in dungeons. You can also use this opportunity to ask questions on demand. A box of support items every week. I highly recommened joining because there's no way a fresh install in
>current year
can survive from reading off guides alone. Experience in dungeons is needed and these guys are obliged to help you.

You know it's bad when they have to incentivize veterans to help new players for "free"
