A bedside crib (also called a bassinet or co-sleeper) is a small baby crib that is attached to your adult bed, allowing your infant to sleep in a safe environment with you. It's a method of safe co-sleeping that does not increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) like bedsharing, and can help you build a bond with your new arrival.
The cots usually have a side that can be raised, so you can easily reach your newborn throughout the night for feeding and comforting. This is particularly useful for mothers who are recovering from a c section. Many are also portable or foldable, so you can bring them along on trips and use them as a temporary sleep solution for newborns who aren't ready to transition to a full-sized cot.
Choose a crib that has an air-conditioned mattress, as well as an appropriate cover to protect your baby from stains. You may also want to buy baby-safe accessories such as an infant blanket or a teether.
If bedside cot for twins are looking for a more long-term solution Some cribs have conversion kits that allow you to convert them into a toddler bed or cot at the time that is appropriate. This is a great option for extending their life span and making the transition smoother. Some even have a removable top section that converts into a bassinet, while others can be used on the regular or high-rise adult bed. This is an excellent choice for families who plan to frequently travel or switch between bedrooms at night. Consider the dimensions of your room to ensure that you fit in the crib comfortably. Many cribs come with a riser which can be used to create an inclined position for infants who suffer from reflux.

The Maxi-Cosi Lora
The Iora is a bassinet designed for infants designed to make parents feel connected with their baby while they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down, and moved through three different slide positions, to fit beside the parent's bed or in the corner so that the baby is always at hand. The breathable mesh siding allows air to circulate through and lets you glance at your baby. You can also put away any extra pajamas or items in the large storage basket beneath.
The Iora is a smaller bedside cot that can fold flat. It also comes with a travel case to allow it to be carried anywhere. Our mum testers were able to move it from room to room and believed it was a great size for a small bedside cot that was not too big or too small. They also loved the large storage basket that is ideal for storing nappies or bedding.
This is a great choice for parents who wish to sleep together, but don't wish to share their bed. Or if one of the partners suffers from mobility issues like back pain or arthritis. Our mom testers were thrilled to be able to easily access their child while in the Iora and that it came with an option to have a reflux incline which helped alleviate gas.
Our mums appreciate the fact that it complies with NICE guidelines which state that you should place the baby in the crib or Moses basket on its own (with no toys, blankets, pillows, etc). They also say that the mattress is comfortable and firm for babies and is easy to find sheets for. It's not as light as other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if you prefer something lighter and easier to move, choose another alternative.
