I'm not a professional. I just felt like talking about a psychology related topic, sorry to whoever wanted this URL!

DPDR (Depersonalization-Derealization disorder), is a mental disorder during the course of which said person with it experiences some form of detachment from reality, such as:
During depersonalization:
Perceptual alterations occur which make your own emotions feel like someone elses,
Your sense of time is distorted, for ex. it feels as if it were 3PM already, yet it's only 11AM.
You feel emotionally + physically numb. It may seem similar to feeling empty, but it isn't. Being numb is described as being unable to process anything.

During derealization:
People or things feel unreal, foggy or lifeless, even.
Your vision may also distort your surroundings to make things seem more dream-like.

The severity of the symptoms depends on the person.

DPDR is speculated to be caused by emotional abuse, along with sexual and physical abuse during ones childhood.

personal experience

it's. a pretty long story for me.
as a person who gets. lightheaded often it definitely worsens my sense of reality and the like. knowing I'mc
chronically online, i stare days on end at a screen which. makes me feel like a walking corpse when I'm meant to move around, it's like I'm in like spectator mode and whatever i do feels. automatic in a sense. as if i were in a cutscene and only meant to watch
