BACKGROUND

  • Born and raised in Greece by his Greek father & Thai mother for most of his young life, until he & his parents moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand to be near his mother's aging parents.
  • Damianos always loved reading Greek myths as a child and his father encouraged Damianos' fascination by buying him Greek mythology books and telling him family stories.
  • Ended up becoming quite the delinquent in high school, until he started encountering many mythological creatures thought to be only old stories when he was around his 2nd year of high school.
  • After a close encounter with a Cerberus puppy in the summer of his 2nd year of high school, Damianos learned from his father that Damianos was a descendant of Aristaeus, a Greek hero known for his mastery of rural arts, including animal taming that extended to mythological creatures.
  • After this event, Damianos studied ancient myths intensely throughout the rest of his time in high school and eventually double-majored in Ancient Studies & Literature when he reached college.
  • After graduating from college with honors, Damianos went on to pursue a Master's degree in Ancient History abroad in Greece and eventually returned to Thailand to teach ancient history at his alma mater.
  • Damianos quickly became well-liked amongst his students, though he was known to go off on tangents, usually about various mythological creatures.
  • One day, a student of his joked that he should start a podcast and he took it to heart, leading to the start of "The Journals of Dr. Aristaeus"
  • In the audio drama "The Journals of Dr. Aristaeus," listeners are transported to the cozy world of the titular Dr. Aristaeus' well-worn office, where the boundaries between reality and the fantastical blur. Dr. Aristaeus, a renowned scholar of arcane lore and mythological creatures, invites listeners on a journey through the journal entries he's left behind in lieu of his death. With each episode, the professor delves into the hidden corners of history, unraveling the secrets of ancient civilizations and unearthing the truths behind mythical beings as he details his adventures as a young researcher in far-off continents and seemingly hidden realms.
  • No one realizes that the stories within "The Journals of Dr. Aristaeus" are actually real & their innocuous professor is actually an amateur mythological creature researcher & tamer—and he prefers it that way.
