todays /ekubo thoughts
i was drawing ekubo in class for an hour hes so cute and i rlly love him
the world wouldve said "this is the worst trade youve ever done tiffany". i wouldve said "let me hit dimple"
HEYYYY my name is Tiffany
you maybe know me... but if you don't, now you do
chat me up. lets mob psycho around together~
my honest thoughts on ekubo i love when characters are built around the idea of being the ruler of the world/god. pretty much, power hungry characters. but at the cost of gaining power, you hurt those around you. i love how mp100 showed this in s1 and s3 through Mob and Dimple's relationships, as well as Dimple's religious followers. i felt like Mob was the one who made the biggest influence on Dimple in terms of his character (but like... when doesn't Mob make some sort of change in the show BFFR). Dimple is a very bittersweet character
i also find it funny how hard "ekubo" goes compared to "dimple" LMAOOOO but i digress. i tend to alternate between the two especially when a lot of mp100 ship names use "ekubo" wayyy more (ex. ekurei). some inconsistencies, sawry
"why do people always draw dimple as the security guard form??" i hope you know theres been official merch/collabs where mp100 does the exact same LMAOOO some examples:
mp100 palverse blind boxes - i own none oops
some other bits n bobs
not them reusing the same art bc theyre lazyyyy
season 1 Dimple is introduced as a god in the LOL cult or whatever (I'll research again when I have the time) and he clearly thrives off of these things -
- having authority
- being in control / praised
- idea of being a ruler
so obviously he gets pissed off when he can't control Mob. He wants that. Mob pretty much humbled Dimple and I was lowkey shocked he even tried again through Ritsu in S1 and S3 (Psycho Helmet Cult) (That's for later, but I'm not gonna deny the fact that his attempt was pretty damn impressive.) However, his attempt at being a God again wasn't out of the blue. Even after Mob defeated Dimple, there was that little voice in the back of his head being like "I can use Mob to my advantage" "Imma become Jesus" or something along those lines, which is shown through Dimple wanting to gain Mob's trust and his arc with Ritsu. Ritsu's character arc showed how Dimple still had malicious and manipulative tendencies the best. I also felt like Dimple chose Ritsu as a target because of how much of a burden he was carrying with the student council and falsely framing Onigawara and other delinquent students. As emotionally weak Ritsu was in the moment, he wasn't stupid enough to go through with everything Dimple was saying. Ritsu was too sexy and too smart. But if Mob didn't step in, Dimple & Ritsu could've gotten away with way more. And now that I've laid out all my thoughts I'd love to see how that would play out if Ritsu and Dimple became Gods LMAOAOAO
It wasn't until the end of Season 1 where Dimple genuinely started caring about Mob and Ritsu as people
season 2 & 3 later
songs that make me think of ekubo
majesty - ghost
"majesty" can be interpreted as Dimple in LOL or Dimple in Psycho Helmet
lyric analysis
"old one, master / all beauty lies within you"
how people in the LOL and/or psycho helmet saw Dimple as a god. not really thinking very highly of him not in their own consciousness but because theyre under Dimple's hypnosis.
"a fallen angel in his glare / a midst of sinners kneeling down before his clout"
kinda the same thing i said above. blindly following a religious figure. seeing them as god. WHATEVER OMG ILL ORGANIZE RHIS LATER I FEEL SICK
ts guy thought he was edit material BAI
