Awaken Time

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91472619

For MP, do all of the Sons awaken their powers at the same time? The text says "You suffer in the deep dark like this through the night", so roughly how long would it take for them to come into their power after falling asleep?

  • The first time they all sleep.

Blessings' Buff to Certain Minion Types Affecting Gifts and Other Minions

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91395714/#91395939

If my Walk Blessed power gives additional power to a minion type (lets say Liches), do the minion types/gifts that share a type with it also get affected (in this example, dracoliches and Ectos and Drace?)

  • I'm gonna say yes, but Dracolcihes don't get the full power up, a bit less than the base affected minion due to their chimeric nature. Gifts in general I'd say yes, but if the boost is too ridiculous I'd say they don't get the full thing

Blood Ground

Interaction with Hell's Demiplanes

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90903220

If I'm in Hell, will my Blood Grounds work anywhere in Hell or is each demiplane considered its own dimension for this purpose?

  • Each demiplane is its own dimension (at last as far as powers are concerned), though walking through them is relatively easy.

Interaction with Minion Cost

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91475232

empowered blood grounds lowers the summoning cost for minions, is this true?

  • No, it doesn't lower it, as it creating something from souls, not really a spell. Walk Blessed gets around this because it is a special blessing. Non-entropic powers and other magic systems are affected though, so summoned beings acquired from other systems can benefit (not Elemental Giants, no minion you can pick is affected by the discount or empowerment).

Soul Absorption via Blood Grounds If You're in Another Dimension and They Are Connected with a Planar Portal

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93586445/#93589063

Does soul absorption via Blood Grounds work if you're in another dimension but they're connected with a planar portal? What happens to souls in its range when you aren't in same dimension, does it still gather them for you to collect later?

  • It works if the portal if the portal is stable enough (so large permanent stable ones should work, but really even temporary ones as long as they’re stable should allow it for as long as they’re open). It shouldn’t store souls since I think Drain Nature was more focused on it while Blood Ground wasn’t built for soul storage but just passive gathering

Stacking

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91605155/#q91606020

  • Blood Grounds do not stack

Communication Perk and Speak as He Interaction

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91395714/#91396156

How does Speak As He interact with the Communication Perk? Perks are explicitly not magic so technically it isn't "cheating" the oath

  • Communication only gives you the ability to speak languages, not the mastery that Speak As He wants out of you.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91395714/#91396252

Yes, but it's still a big shortcut compared to learning from scratch.

  • It absolutely does. You practically only need to take a Literature Course in that language to succeed afterwards.

Counters to Machine Gods

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91499013

what's the best counter to machine gods

  • Hound stuff scraps good with them, but the Hound works against anything (they have few to no type advantages though). Demiurges fuck them up good, Perfect Prince stuff annihilates them.

Currency

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#91312172
https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#91312183

What currency is used in the multiverse? What exactly it means to be immensely wealthy (on multiversal scale) like mentioned in the notes section?

  • Currency varies, but mostly it's condensed magical energy in the form coins. True Goddesses have the monopoly on it.
  • Roughly what it means irl: you have a large amount of resources available to you, and can purchase influence, mercenaries, dimensions etc... Some Sons work under True Goddesses (who are immensely rich) for this, specially since Demiurges hard counter them, and Sons can help them with that.
  • for all accounts and purposes, souls and their rarity are currencies for you. Goddesses coins are generally good, but you're going to be negotiating a lot with whatever you have, and souls are what you can handle best.

Cost of Giving Water and Ice

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90903220

Does Elemental Simulacrum (Water/Ice) cost 0 SP to grant others because it's free (with purchase) for the player? If not, are they still freebies if you grant a different (Advanced) Element, or would others have to pay the full 5+2 SP just for Water and Ice? If it's not always free, can Ectos get it for free since she has (Fire/Metal) already?

  • Water costs 5SP to give them

Daughter Powers

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91472909

How powerful are the daughters in general? I know you said they're weaker than the Sons, and that they have less ambition. But I was wondering, how much of their weakness stems from their ambition, infighting, and how much of it is due to their actual arsenal. There's a notable lack of healing for Sons outside of full resurrection and fleshwarping, so do the Daughters have more defensive and healing powers while lacking actual firepower?

  • Decently powerful, more barrier maiden style women than anything, based on shoujo manga heroines and the likes of Athena from Saint Seiya. They're stupidly good at buffing and healing. They could get stronger, but imagine the daughter of an ultra billionaire hounded by legions of pretty boy princes and super knights. Imagine if you told her "maybe you can get strong if Mike Tyson beats the living shit out of you every day". They'd say fuck no, I have armies of pretty boy bodyguards that can do that. You never see that in real life, ever. Also, as you day, their powers are more based on defense, buffing, utility, healing, etc. Infighting is spoiled princess shit, shitflinging and backstabbing each other, until a real threat emerges and the Mother sends a big shot to put them in their place and get them to work. Despite the Mother being much more involved than the Father or the Prince, the scope of her domain is so large she just focuses on the grand picture. In contrast, Sons work separately doing mostly their thing, their contact with each other mostly as a society of peers and a brotherhood of gentlemen, that values freedom but also courteous behaviors with each other.

Demiurge

Description

PDF

  • Demiurges are a bit based on Bakker's Second Apocalypse gods and overall gnosticism. They're parasites, divine impostors, inhabiting the Weave Between Worlds, looking to stick to realms and absorb the souls and emotions of their inhabitants. Think of them as beings that draw souls, absorb all their memories and emotions as fuel, and then squeeze powerful emotions out of them (usually suffering), until the shattered psyche of that soul cannot produce any more, after which it’s discarded or sent back to the plane the Demiurge is currently attached to, to reincarnate and restart the cycle. In some horrible cases, souls may begin to degrade due to the immense torture. They do it also for some form of alien entertainment, or taste. They are alien in thought: they may speak human tongues but hold no true understanding of certain words. They may make supreme, impossibly genius plans, only to be outmatched by a casual and improvised strategy, being blind to a concept or a timespan, like the present. They come in a lot of varieties but are never benevolent.
  • Since Demiurges are extremely powerful, and nearly impossible to defeat, most strategies try to seal or to draw them elsewhere so they may cause less harm. However, Sons are the exception to this. Sons through a variety of means can drag Demiurges down to the physical world, forcing a solid body on them, a process that is extremely traumatizing to them and that weakens them severely. Sons can do this in any way if they can establish a link with the soul of the demiurge, which is absurdly easy as a Demiurge actively absorbing souls and magic off a realm is accessible everywhere, and all Sons can do it at least through Soul Drain (a skill every single Son has access to). The tug of war to draw them into reality depends on the individual power of the Son and the Demiurge, though usually heavily in favor of the Son. Sons then can kill the Demiurge and absorb its soul, or enslave it if they have the power or means to do so (this is VERY difficult, costly, and quite literally on Sons can pull it off, and even then, it requires very capable and experienced Sons). Demiurges have a variety of abilities, so it’s not always an easy fight, and they may escape the hunt attempt, though usually weakened. It’s not uncommon for Sons to track, pursue and eventually kill a powerful Demiurge over several encounters.
  • Quite literally every faction is open to hiring a Son to deal with a Demiurge problem. Demiurges try to avoid Sons, but Sons are largely invisible to them.

Enslavement

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91641610/#91644089

what's the combination of powers required to enslave a Demiurge? I'm guessing the process involves dragging them into a mortal form (Soul Drain can accomplish this, but Harpoon is probably better), Pain to force them into a more mortal mindset, then Sealing Chain to lock away some aspects of their now-easier-to-influence minds.

  • You basically mentioned the main ones. Spirit Chains is the big one. Soul Drain also helps a lot. It's a slow and complex process, since you need to put it at the verge of degradation. It's like bringing in a whale to process. It takes, time, but you cannot waste a single second when working on it.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91501347

how often do demiurges manage to escape a first confrontation with a son?

  • Depends on the Son's experience and build, and the demiurge's power and experience. If you have stuff lile a maxed Soul Drain, Spirit Chains, Harpoon, a blessing that helps with hunting etc... It shouldn't be too difficult. Often there are several demiurges, and some scamper while one is dragged in.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91540155/#91547770

If Ectos is the only one with Spirit Chains and captures a Demiurge, is she the only one who can do upkeep on it and summon it in times of need?

  • Demiurges seem to be seen as pets and little minions. They're abominable divinities that put fear on anything that even thinks of them. You just happen to be amongst the only people that can destroy them easily. You cannot "summon" a demiurge. You upkeep it by feeding it varied souls with sufficient emotions, and is a steep upkeep. Ectos cannot capture one, she's not built for that. Capturing a Demiurge is big fucking deal, as killing them or harming them is easy for you, but capturing and enslaving one is a different ballpark. It gives you a tool that can help deal with your greatest counters, but it is not easy at all. Most Sons aren't even capable of capturing and enslaving one, since they lack the build and abilities to do so. It's a BIG deal, that requires experience, preparation, patience, timing and the right tools.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91498979

how hard is it to tame a demiurge?

  • Much more difficult than killing one. You need the right powers to enslave one (never tame, they're slaves or cattle).

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91474424

once enslaved demiurges stay in their solid bodies?

  • If you make one for them, though the lower the quality the less powers they have. Enslaved Demiurges are always weakened in some way, and they aren't easy to enslave (you DID pick Spirit Chains for that, surely?) Demiurges are alien beings mentally, so you could never befriend or tame one. They're either slaves or cattle.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93578612/#93580694

Is it possible to still enslave a demiurge with only the spirit chain and seal modifier?

  • With just those? Maybe a very weak one with a lot of practice and luck. It's one of the most difficult things you can do and usually requires a specialized build or at least enough tools to make it easier, such as Harpoon, Pain, a fully powered Soul Drain...

Transformation

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90903284

can a demiurge be transformed in a familiar?

  • No. Demiurges cannot be transformed.

Demons

Description

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775510

  • Demons are a pretty big threat and some of the mayor players in existence, and come in all varieties. Lucky for you, they're not really much of a threat, and will avoid you actively. You're to demons what they basically are to non magical peasants. Easy victims. Sons and Father based being keep a lot of nasty shit at bay, which earns them some begrudging respect from would be adversaries.

Perception of Using Demons

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775608

would we be frowned upon by most others for working with/using demons

  • Maybe if you treat them like equals, or well. Demons are pretty vile, so them being enslaved and on the receiving end of abuse if anything is refreshing for a lot of people. Succubus are not too malevolent, and technically belong to the Realms of Pleasure, so their relationship is different. Other Father related beings might be a bit worried to see them on your ranks, but they wouldn't dwell too much on it.

Soul Type

There are contradictions.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91540155/#q91547646

  • They vary, as they all come in different forms and appearances, much like dream creatures. The nearby, Moloch hell is more monstrous and humanoid than the other types.

    Entropistanon, you contradict yourself:

  • Chimeric Manipulator: ...Demonic souls can be transformed into any variety of soul, for a cost that scales according to the soul being transformed. This process is very inefficient, but could allow you to have, for example, a steady supply of draconic souls without ever killing one...

If demons can have any kind of soul then turning demon souls into dragon souls is worthless because I could just kill demon dragons.
    And in the lore document:

  • ...Demons are better thought to be based around the concept of sins. They still eat souls, but they derive pleasure from sin-based actions, usually harmful and debauched. Imagine them as tapestries of sin, malice and desire. Their bodies are physical, but made from the same "substance" as souls...

The categories of Incompatible Target presumably have to deal with the fundamental nature of the target's soul rather than merely the shape of their body, so if all demons are made of the same stuff why does their soul type vary with body shape? Could you use Fleshwarp to turn a monstrous demon into a humanoid and its soul type would change along with it? What about the basic Soul Magic which changes the "outside" of souls?

Drawbacks

Chosen Paladin

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90742251/#q90754117

the most pacifist build

  • The Chosen Paladin would still kill you on sight, as even in truth he would think that the allure of power would corrupt you down the line.

Consequences of Killing the Mother's Forces from Hunted and Chosen Paladin

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91475232

Does killing the Mother's forces from Hunted and Chosen Paladin get us on her shitlist?

  • No. They're not actually terribly important. The mother holds the widest empire around.

Dead Senses

Feast of Evil

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90778906/#q90784332

  • you won’t be able to enjoy evil souls as much as normal with dead senses, taste. You still get pleasure from it of course, is just that there’s a bit of a dimension lacking in your enjoyment. Still, not too big of a change in how it works, maybe imagine having sex while eating a delicious cake, you still feel pleasure, but the cake tastes like nothing.

Power Word

Does (speech) disable Power Word?

  • Power Word still works but does not have a sound component, becoming like an echo of meaning. It does nerf its at applications to use to weave Entropy into spells and magic systems, but Power Word Kill is so absurdly strong it might even bypass those limitations.

Telepathy

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91474030

is it possible to use telepathy if you have dead sense hearing or speech?

  • Depends. You may have to find a way to communicate information differently with it if you don't have those senses. Maybe you could cook it with Arcane Magic and instead transmit colors, find a way to transfer intent Power Word style (easier said than done, specially without speech), hook telepathy to a magitech speech to text device (again, easier said than done, specially on the whole language front). Ectos or Koryuu could certainly think of something.

Workaround

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#90796093

Can Dead Senses be worked around with technological prosthetics and such, assuming one's in a tech-friendly world? Could you use Perception Change to give yourself synestia to cheat it (if so Alta's even more OP)?

  • You can’t work around Dead Senses, you’re giving them to the Father.

Dimensional Merging Restriction on Dimensional Travel

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#90796093

How thoroughly does Dimensional Merging restrict dimensional travel? Mainly asking about BANS, Hell Link, and the Dreamlands. I assumed for the sake of my build that I was unable to leave by any means.

  • Pretty restricting, but mostly for you. You’re the Conduit of the merging, and are bound until it completes (btw, should be obvious Pallidus has some aspects and inspiration from the Prison).

Entropy Magnet

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91498979

how long does it take for Entropy Magnet to start affecting people?

  • Pretty soon, about an hour of being near you, and it does not reset if they leave, say, in 59 minutes and come back the next day. Ascended humans are more resistant to it, some outright immune.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#90796093

If I'm in my Sanctum and/or the Dreamlands, does Entropy Magnet follow my body, my soul, or both?

  • Entropy Magnet follows everything. It’s not too much of a problem in your Sanctum, as souls are obviously ageless.

Hiding Beacon

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91498979

can shadow magic + Invisibility hide Beacon perk?

  • No. Drawbacks trump. They can blur it so in close proximity you have some leeway to use those skills effectively though.

One Way

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473846

Is One Way: Minion transfer a valid drawback?

  • Yes.

Is absorbing souls from a soul gem restricted by One Way or basically an unrestricted action, as you are only using an item as intended and not gathering souls?

  • I was inclined to say it is restricted, but One Way is already brutal enough, so I'll say you can use Soul Gems without it being the One Way to acquire souls.

Pleasure Target

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91437874/#q91445539

  • only low level servants will target you at first, it will take a long time for Nobles to notice your existence. The Prince has been secluded for many years in its lotus and has been hands off for a long time, its servants mostly decentralized.

The Final Rapture

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#90796093

Would Power Word (base) let me convince Fighter that my magic was real? Could (Kill) bypass his bullshit? Since I intuitively know whether it would work or not, can I use it as a way to judge power levels automatically?

  • Fighter would expect you to go in depth about how your Powers work, using his own Power Word (in blue) to refute as to why he thinks you’re incorrect, but telling the truth. He does that every day with his own goddess, who enjoys tormenting him, and always comes up with bullshit excuses as to why magic isn’t real, but your plan can still work.

Dreamlands

Capital

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91474239

  • There is a developed financial system in the capital of the Dreamlands bordering the far planes. I imagined it as a titanic city of impossible geometries ruled by the strongest dream god. You could do all manner of sophisticated transactions inside.

Cut Off

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91540155/#q91547646

If you don't have Sleepless, does it mean that you must cut yourself off completely from the Dreamlands, a huge part of the multiverse, to be able to remove the need for sleep? Is there no other method that would allow removing the need for sleep while keeping the ability to interact with the Dreamlands?

  • Most Sons don't even have access to the Dreamlands, so there you go.

If you cut yourself off completely from the Dreamlands, can nothing in there affect you? Conversely, can nothing you do affect the Dreamlands? Can you even observe the Dreamlands? Can anything in the Dreamlands observe you?

  • If they're dropping by to kill you, then they sure can. You could observe if you had the magical means to do so, but would likely have to rely on minions/outside powers to do so. Generally, dreamlands stuff is more wary of the waking world than otherwise, since upper tier of stuff in the waking world is way beyond most things in the Dreamlands, and their powers are generally limited in the waking world. The more they can interact with the waking world, the easier it is to drag them inside.

Multiversal Travel

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775693
https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775713

  • Dreamlands are also vital for going to fictional universes. You want to collect pokewaifus, you might want to invest in some dream powers.
  • The multiverse is by and large unchartered, specially near Earth. The vast majority of fictional worlds are out of the radar (or care) of planeswalkers. Dreamland beings don't need to travel the Weave to get to the Dreamlands equivalent of other universes. They have much wider knowledge about less known worlds, and know how to get to them.

Perfect Prince

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90813631/#90817085

how much of the Dreamlands does the Perfect Prince control and how powerful is he inside?

  • He controls a decent chunk, but he's not the main force there, thought definitely has the biggest foothold there of all major powers. The Dreamlands are largely decentralized and mostly ignored in the grand scheme of things, sort of seen as a relevant but not mandatory undercurrent to reality, and powers that access it are rare, and beings that can be powerful in the Dreamlands and waking world even rarer.

Physically Entering the Dreamlands If You Don't Have a Power for It

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91540155/#q91547646

  • You can physically reach the Dreamlands by travelling to the Capital, near the Realms of Pleasure, a Far Realm that spills and mixes into the waking world. That's a long trip, and probably not worth the time.

Retcon Because of Empyrean Prince

Retcon

It went from:

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90756315/#q90762721

  • your ambitions are perfectly achievable

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90756315/#90763396

  • Any Dreamland threat would be a joke to you. The only ones capable of challenging you there would rather avoid it

To:

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#q91474563

  • I don't mean to limit your fantasies and will say it is technically possible. I do think you're heavily overestimating yourself though. It would take an unimaginable amount of time completely focused on that endeavor to even dream of doing that. You're the strongest Dreamlands build, and yet, there are beings in the Dreamlands that could one shot you, and there are beings above them that treat those as disposable minions. And then there are ancient things lurking, that are beyond them. And then there's the God of the Capital, who is unimaginable.

It was the discussions around the blessings and the tier list that made him aware of how op Empyrean Prince is.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91406966/#q91407357

  • I'm surprised how much people overestimate Empyrean Prince.

Do Dragons Lay Eggs Even in Human Form?

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#q91313035

Do dragons lay eggs even in human form?

  • Yes, they lay eggs in human form. The babies are dragonkin, so basically normal human babies (though tougher)

Events

Locations

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91552461/#91558743
Draconic Conquistador: Spain
Hellish Link: All of Earth, gateway could be anywhere.
Chosen of Silence; all of Earth, will likely start in USA.
Isekaid Heroes: Japan
Shadow Legion: Northern Africa. They will avoid oceans, but will devastate a pretty massive area.
Groom of the Goddess: Obvious.
Grim: random.
Gomorrhan: Undetermined.
World of Horror: Global.
Guardian Monster: Random.
Nascent Machine: Secret
Battle Maniac: random, but in a large city.
The rest are global or should be obvious they are.

When Events Begin

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91472619

  • Events begin a couple of days (2-3 )after the final sons awakens.

Chosen of Silence

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90848206/#q90852279

  • Chosen of Silence won’t mess with you in any way unless you fuck him over, and can probably even be hired.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90742251/#q90752965

  • the Chosen of Silence can be negotiated with. If you tell him “hey can you please leave Europe for last, I’m kinda there right now” he’ll likely listen.

Draconic Conquistador

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91498921

Does he send scouts through first or is he the first to set foot down on his new land? How aggressive is he with expansion? I assumed he would be rather defensive, as he's going to be killing most of the world with his ritual anyway, so there's no reason to waste his resources on an actual war.

  • He's very aggressive for his initial foothold, and then switches to defensive. He's an excellent tactician and very good at making alliances, based on actual conquistadors.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91499013

How large is his initial foothold? Small country/large state sized?

  • Very elite force with some auxiliaries. Not very large but very effective and covering a lot of weaknesses.

Groom of the Goddess

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90848206/#q90852279

  • the True Goddess doesn’t hate Indians or Chinese. She just sent some servants to do her groom a favor, she could literally care less about their existence. You’ll be dealing with her servants and retainers assigned to the task, they’re the ones you’ll negotiate and work with.

Isekaid Heroes

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90903253

Do the Isekaid Heroes have good loot and/or magic systems worth studying, and are their harem members virgins?

  • No virgin harem members, their items and systems are kinda generic and pretty shit overall (imagine circle magic isekai shit), though at least they could be of some use to you since Earth doesn't have anything like them. You can make something out of it if you have a caster build, since at least they'd be cheap to learn.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90848206/#q90852279

  • Ester will absolutely make short work of the Isekaid Heroes. All your Gifts can kill them, but Ester in particular can make them into lapdogs for you, as their wills are easily broken.

Shadow Legion

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91384383/#91385752

  • Shadow Legion commander at full health would give the most, and his super crippled near death state in SP gives at least enough for a Gift summon.

Wizard

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91498921
https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91499013

How experienced is the wizard? He's clearly capable of at least planeswalker, but does he know about the Sons, and if so how well. Is he opposed to them or will he wait to do what you do?

  • The wizard is about average when it comes to spellcasting, but is very experienced, knowledgeable and verg good at rituals, enchanting and managing the overall logistics of a magical intervention. By himself on a 1v1 situation he's a chump, but he can pull some Gandalf stuff when uniting men, and will most certainly find ways to integrate magic into current military orgs, though at first in a very limited capacity. He's not exactly against Sons, but like most beings, see them as powerful engines of destruction that are not human mentally (remember most people don't have experiences with newborn Sons, they know of guys like He Who Pursues who may as well be death personified, or Petros, who has a Sanctum that leaves most pantheons in the dirt when it comes to magnificence).
  • The Wizard is more like gandalf than a smelly low Cha wizard. Underestimate him and he'll blindside you with a coalition and super weapon made of shit like Guardian bodies and such. In MP, well yeah, he's toast probably, but maybe it's not a good idea to underestimate him. It's the one event I never consider taking myself.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91499013

Is the wizard also fooled by Fallen Angel if paired with Orphan?

  • The wizard could be fooled in theory. In practice, he will very soon detect a Son (or Sons were born) and can add 1+1 together. He's very perceptive and cunning.

Father

Religion

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#q90774972

  • The Father's religion is not uncommon at all, of course nowhere near the size of the Mother's, and usually more dispersed (as Sons don't interact with each other much), but they have some distinct advantages to them. For one, their realms are the least likely to get fucked over in the afterlife by some demon, god or demiurge. You die and that's it, or you go to a Son's Sanctum, either to be used to fuel his magic (same as sleeping and then being softly given to the Father) or to live in a Paradise made by the Son, as most Sanctums end up being carefully cultivated paradises for Sons and their loved ones. A lot of ancient Sons just stay in theirs basically forever, and let their minions and servants run their waking world assets. Corners of the multiverse with domains run by Sons in the name of the Father, are usually bereft of any demonic invasions or more eldritch horror attacks. They also are a good places for non-Son agents of the Father to meet, and are usually trade hubs dealing in souls.

Worship

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#q90775830

Are we expected to worship the father?

  • No, but a lot of Sons and basically all non-Sons, Father related beings do. Most don't care if you actively worship or anything, just that you advance entropy. Even if you don't advance it, as long as you don't actively attack them, they won't really care, but won't actively support you in that case. Sons are a special existence, naturally divine to Father's worshippers to begin with, you can be as involved or uninvolved as you want with it. As far as religions go, it values actions way more than pointless rituals.

Gentle Ward Clarification

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91475383

"torture" is easy enough to understand, but what EXACTLY constitutes "abuse" for a soul? I'm under the impression Alter Soul doesn't inflict any suffering, but from a certain moral angle could still be called "abuse"...

  • the wording is a bit vague, but maybe not actively bringing harm with negative intent upon others. You could let a child fall for him to learn from his mistakes, but not, say, beat him up because you got angry at him. You have to be honest and not weasel your intent to hurt others. You can take souls outside, put them in a corpse and then do whatever though.

Fleshwarp

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91415865/#q91419471

  • rule of thumb, is your magic is inherently inefficient in terms of creation, as it is geared towards taking and not giving. Sadly your fleshwarp farm may create powerful minions, but with almost no soul value to speak of.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91415865/#91419579

Does fleshwarp effect the genes? Like could you make a race of furries that could produce viable furry offspring?

  • With study and some soul tampering yes. Rule of thumb is souls get weaker the more you meddle with them. You could make them overall really strong, just with paltry souls. Overall it's not good for farming, but a great utility spell the rest of the time.

Gifts

1v1 Tier List

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91472465

  • Another thing that was asked is a 1v1 tier list, but that's difficult to make. Gifts are summoned with zero souls, so a base Koryuu would lose in such a situation to Elaine simply because she would have no souls to use her abilities. There are many factors to consider, and do not account for other tactical usages a Gift could have. Rule of thumb: Alta wins. With proper support Falista is the strongest, and the one that could let you fight opponents much more powerful than you by helping her "ramp up". Koryuu is to guarantee victories and solve seemingly impossible problems. Say you encounter some super egregore mage that has an ability like Wonder of U plus some extra magic bullshit on top. You could count on Koryuu to beat him (if she has stolen enough abilities).

Alta Power

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#q90776111

  • Alta could beat the leader of the Shadow Legion andthe Paladin atthe same time, provided they weren't working together. She could interfere in their match and walk away victorious. It wouldn't be easy, it would take a while and she would end up severely injured, as it would beyond the limit of the strength she starts off with (she'll get stronger over time). But she'd go full anime protagonist in a desperate battle, power through, and actually improve as the fight goes on, until she'd be capable enough to kill them both. She'd come out much more powerful than before.

Bloom

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93578612/#q93581549

how bad would it be having bloom without the harem perk?
your other gifts really don't like her, how annoying/draining would that be to deal with? (especially if you have a lot of gifts)

  • Pretty bad but manageable. The interactions between Gifts were made purposely so that harems are easier to maintain. Maintaining even one relationship is hard enough on your time enough so different interactions between them are meant to assist you. Not having Harem with Bloom will make your life just overall less convenient and more time consuming.

would defeating/killing the perfect prince lower your gifts animosity against bloom? (letting her make friends with them)

  • Not friends but they would most likely stop fearing for you and mostly tolerate her.

Cooking Tier List

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473808

  • Cooking tier list is a bit difficult, since it varies by situation and likes. Elaine is number 1 in overall cooking ability. Nida would be second, making motherly meals I think most people would prefer. I personally would probably enjoy Falista's cooking the most, since she would be the best at preparing game and meat (I love meat, and throw barbeques whenever I have a chance. Sadly I haven't had the opportunity to go hunting in Japan). Koryuu could be really good, but she would only cook for your or her kids. Otherwise she would steal someone else's food and pretend she made it, if she even bothered to do anything in the first place. Drace is pretty good, but can't remember instructions well. Ester is good, but may add blood, her hair, etc on her cooking, and she would not do it for anyone else (outside her children, or towards Kirilia but only using her as a guinea pig). Astra is good at baking, but terrible at cooking, and unlikely to get betters Ectos follows instructions well but for some reason can never make good meals. Sangra is the worst cook, following recipes, but adding ingredients she thinks are better than the suggested ones, making all manner of disasters. Kirilia is really good, and can get better, but may make her dishes too artsy at times. Ebon could be decent, but she refuses to cook, as it is a servant's labor. Alta is bad at cooking, straight up, almost as bad as Sangra. She thinks she's good though, and won't listen to criticism.

Creation

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91328028/#91329288

Were there an "original" Ester and Astra at some point, who gave their essence to the Father to be replicated as Gifts? Or of the other Gifts, for that matter. But I find myself especially intrigued by the two Gifts who aren't a minion type and aren't Bloom either.

  • There are no "originals" for Gifts, though they do take information from archetypes of all existence. Remember entropy is the beginning and the end, so the Father can gather from just about every experience. The best way to imagine the process, is the Father using Power Word: "Make perfect waifus for my new Son according to the nature of his reality, that they may be as powerful and as loving as possible. Make the best waifus according to circumstances". There were ice queens that may have been a bit similar to Ester outside harem stuff, and gods similar to Astra (though definitely not looking like humans at all). But Gifts are more or less the Father gathering the best ingredients and making a delicious meal just for you. However, the Father cannot just go around making them, he must use your soul's unique composition to be able to create them in the first place. They're born with you, in a way. Ester and Astra are more outside of Entropy than the other Gifts, and more a product of Earth's unique location and circumstances (though Ester's focus on Ice is definitely due to your connection to Entropy).

Do Ectos and Drace Have Necromancy and Phylactery If You Don’t Take It?

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#91313067

Do ectos and drace have necromancy and phylactery if you don’t take it?

  • I'm gonna say yes to that. Gifts should be the ultimate expression of minions.

Drace with Arcane Magic

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93586445/#93589063

would drace be capable of making full use of arcane magic?

  • She'd be extremely good at it

Ester

Time Stop

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775693

How well do each of the Gifts resist Ester's time stop? Actually, how do well do powerful beings resist time stop in general?

  • Time Stop is not instant. It usually takes a while to cast, and it has a MASSIVE signal to it. No matter how well hidden you are, even incompetent mages will know where you're coming from. Ester is pretty fast at casting it, all things considered, but most Gifts could just shut her down in an instant using speed or ranged attacks. Time Stop is also easy to dispel, and requires tremendous concentration. Ester could probably get it off if she's far away enough, but after that, she'd actually have to get close to the Gifts being affected to harm them, and Time Stop is both tiring and very mana intensive. You'll encounter instances of it in extremely rare occasions, and are almost all telegraphed, and most commonly used to escape. Absolute worst case scenario, there are certain Gifts Ester can't do anything about even with Time Stop. Ebon could tank her hits, Alta would put herself in a position where she would take minimum harm, Falista could tank most of her attacks, Astra is mostly in the Dreamlands, etc... Ester is more agent and utility based than other Gifts. She's still really strong, and basically unkillable, but Time Stop is not "haha I did this I win". It's still a very solid trump card against certain opponents. Opponents that rely too much on enchantments for example, Ester could dispel them and one shot them from it, or kill squishy wizards hiding behind enemies. Your Gifts are just built different. There are still absurd amounts of ways Ester can abuse Time Stop, specially with her Duplicates and working with other minions or Gifts.

Harem Perk

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91384383/#91385403

how would the harem perk change the harem dynamic mentioned in the lore pdf?

  • Even those that dislike or hate each other will eventually become vitriolic friends over time. Ester would care a bit about the rest. Bloom gets the biggest boost, eventually becoming a part of the dynamics.

Teaching

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775488

How good is Ester at teaching?

  • Pretty decent, but she's easily distracted and will abuse her teaching session with you to do, well, other things. She's no Ectos, but can get he job done.

Falista Becoming a Mother Dousing Her Flames

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93586445/#93589067

for falista's description on the quote "Becoming a mother would largely douse her flames" does this refer to her libido or her rage in battle?

  • I meant she’d be calmer, but her combat potential still remains. If anything, she gains better control of her powers as she ramps up. She becomes more focused and determined. She just wouldn’t be as quick to anger as before, but still capable of ramping up in similar circumstances (unless her kids are involved).

Height Chart

Gifts Height Chart

If Two Gifts Had Kids

would anything noteworthy happen if Fleshwarp / Arcane were used to artificially create a zygote with the genetics of two of a Son's Gifts, instead of his own?

  • it would inherit aspects of both Gifts, but it wouldn't be all that strong, since you're the most important part of that equation.

Kirilia Power with Physical Empowerment

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93586445/#93589067

how strong would kirilia be if you give her physical empowerment?

  • Kirilia would be pretty strong, and would gain levels pretty quickly I’d say. Her instincts should allow her to create some very interesting Spirit Techniques mixed with Blood attacks and vampiric powers.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93586445/#93589847

is kirilia with PE would be as strong or stronger as the top 3 of gifts?

  • Kirilia would be pretty damn strong but Kouryuu, Falista and Alta are on a category of their own.

Power Growth

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93586445/#93589761

Every gift has a way to scale infinitely. Be it Physical empowerment, magic or a race's ability. But Bloom's description doesn't mention hers. I suppose her "ideal form" would have one depending on your version of her, but does cocoon Bloom have a form to scale to keep up?

  • With Bloom I just sort of imagined her growing stronger as you do, as a sort of constant in your life. However the level of a cracked Cocoon remains static.

Can each gift learn a magic system? the liches can learn more than one but i think we don't know truly if the rest can at least learn 1 following the same rules as you or not.

  • Yeah they can. Someone like Alta might not be able to learn all that much from one though, while Elaine could get more out of it, so you can use that as reference. Ectos and Drace are way beyond any of them in this department.

does Astra gain new abilities with her power up discovering more of the dreamlands or is a buff to her abilities?

  • Astra yeah but they're mostly Dreamlands related, so it's a bit unreliable. You shouldn't really expect anything concrete from her in terms of new powers, she may use an ability once and never again that same way for example.

Sangra Ability Theft

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#90796093

Sangra can steal the abilities and knowledge of vampires; what are the limits on that, and what constitutes a "vampire"? Can I eventually Planeswalk to JoJo and have Sangra steal The World, for example?

  • Sangra could not steal non-vampiric based abilities (like the World). It’s mostly stealing skills, as she already has most abilities. Just imagine her creating minions, only to harvest them when ripe with skills she desires. She can end up with basically any vampire-based skill you can imagine though. She can only steal one skill at once from a target. This is still insanely good, imagine if she absorbed an ancient vampire sword master. What constitutes a vampire varies, but tends to be pretty strict and based on their stereotypes, so no, aliens that happen to suck blood wouldn’t count.

Number of Gifts a Son Has

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91234333/#91253576

What is the average number of gifts a son has?

  • Most Sons have between 1 and 3, and have between 3 and 5 options to pick from usually. Very rarely more than that. You're getting way more choice and possible max number of Gifts than the majority of Sons. Currently, no Son has more than 6 Gifts at once. Don't think that makes you special amongst Sons overall though, just in that department. All Sons are equal in initial points, but some get different or more choices available depending on the nature of their birthplace and dimension. Gifts are roughly similar in terms of "value", that is to say, don't expect to find a Son with a Gift that is a better version of Alta or Ectos (in their respective niches) for example, but maybe one that is batter in some ways or worse in others. In your case though, since you have so many Gifts and potential GP available, you don't have to settle for a jack of all trades or one that covers a glaring weakness, so choice does mean you excel in that department, even if you don't focus on getting a lot of GP for your build.

How Orphan Works

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91552461/#91558542

is Orphan drawback immediately apparent to all Sons you meet or only if you actively try to prove to them that you're a Son? And how do the ancient Sons giving oaths react to it? Why offer oaths to (what they see as) an impostor?

  • Immediately apparent. Everything about you screams impostor, but most Sons will be wary but won't immediately be hostile if encountered. Extended contact is goring to end up very poorly for you though. The oath givers will think that the Shining One succeeded in creating a false Son, and will think "oh wow, good for him I guess" and ignore you seeing you as a fraud but largely innocent experiment. If you approach Karac he'll be hostile immediately though.

Immortality Piercing

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91540155/#91547723

In the notes section, it says that true goddesses and tempered heroes can pierce through immortality. Does this mean that even if you have a phylactery, they can disregard it and kill you? Machine Gods have a natural advantage against Sons too, so can they disregard phylacteries as well?

  • Machine Gods cannot do that. Very powerful Tempered Heroes and True Goddesses can force and destroy more immortality "charges" than normal, making them the greatest threats around. Never enough to fully go through all 3 extra lives or more than 3 phylacteries though. In the case of True Goddesses, if they catch you in their domain (as they're essentially sentient dimensions) they can try to trap you inside and try to force you to run out of immortality options. This is very difficult, and you have to fuck up colossally to be in this situation, basically picking and actively looking to fight the goddess itself, so you can just avoid a confrontation or fighting them for too long.

Losing Talented

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93586445/#93589847

Say I have dual form. One form has Talented, the other doesn't. If I train a skill to a supernatural degree in the Talented form, what is the extent of said skill when I'm in the other form? Is it safe to assume I retain the knowledge but not the capability?

  • That sounds about right. You lose the perk on your other form so it would make sense you wouldn't be Talented then. You'd still keep about as much talent as you would normally have, so it's not like you wouldn't be able to swing a sword, just that it wouldn't come as naturally as with Talented.

Magics Reliant on Specific in-Universe Things

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#q90796320

Do multiversal magics that rely on a specific in-universe thing (like, say, the Weave) still work if you leave?

  • Yes but you must supply souls for their effects. In facts, souls are your base energy for any magical system, as they are what gives you this versatility to begin with.

Minions

Black Dragons

Growth Rate of Black Dragons

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#q91313035

What is the growth rate of black dragons? For example how much time would it take ebon to grow to falista initial summoning size?

  • I don't have a general timeline, just that they grow in "tiers". I'd say it would take around 50 years for Ebon to reach that size, and a normal Black Dragon around 1000.

Flight Speed

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93578612/#q93581549

how quick is a black dragon flight speed? and are falista and ebon quicker?

  • fairly fast, but not as agile as say a Wyvern. Falista is noticeably faster and more agile, while Ebon being a tank of sorts would just be the peak of speed and agility of a Black Dragon.

Size

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#q90798150

  • BLACK Dragons are the size of a Fatalis, Ebon is roughly the size of a Safi Jiva, and Falista is 33% bigger than Ebon.

Your Black Dragon Children's Gender

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91475232

If you have children with a Black Dragon Gift, are they still all female?

  • They can be male or female.

Creation

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775390

could someone with high necromancy skills like Dark Sovereign potentially make more categories of minions, like ghouls, wights, and wraiths?

  • if you have the skills and souls available, you can alter souls, bodies, etc. and basically make your own minions. Dolls are there for ease of making customized minions for Soul Magic Users and Entropists with access to enchantments and such. Can you create a straight up minion choice, that costs x amount of souls, and just add it to the minion section like that? Not really, but you can basically build all manner of custom minions, if you have the powers to do so. One advantage of minions from the minion section is that they're created instantly and can use generic soul energy to be created, no enchantments, soul manipulation, etc. required. You can of course, with the right tools and materials, create phantasmal armies, wights, hydras etc... You can hire or enslave demons, your Gifts can help get certain types of minions etc... You have a big ass toy box to play with

Death Lord vs Oblivion Berserker

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91474424

in a 1v1 fight between a fully unlocked (entropic imbue) death lord and a fully unlocked oblivion berserker (Karac race) who would win?

  • Oblivion Berserker. They have no uses outside of combat, and can't even be properly managed or controlled. They're brutal.

Entropy Herald Ritual

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#q90775830

would it be possible to use the entropy herald's soul transferring ability to set up a sort of multiversal communication network?

  • Not really. I mean, maybe you could have a herald send you a message with some sort of altered morse code or something, but each ritual takes a while to set up and is not cheap in terms of involvement and materials. They're more meant "this Herald just loaded up on souls, so know he'll make a big ass ritual to send them your way" type of deal. Also souls don't arrive instantly, they don't take more than a couple of days, but you can't really predict the timing.

Evil Spirit

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90903220

When using Evil Spirit, do you choose the cost/power level you want the spirit to have, or is it a function of how much "resentment" is in the chosen area?

  • You can choose to make smaller spirits in an area with a lot of malevolence, but can't create larger spirits off of multiple areas of low malevolence and power. So basically, some areas have higher potential than others, and can be more or less customized downwards.

Familiars

Poison Imbue from Snake Familiars

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91540155/#91547723

How strong is the poison imbue you get from Snake Familiars?

  • Strong for low level minions, meh for stronger ones, though for strong ones it can help them hit targets they would normally resist them a bit better, focusing on the poison itself to channel their attacks, making them better rounded against more resistant targets.

Switching

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91540155/#91547646

How long does it take to switch Familiar bonds? Example: If I have a Horse Familiar and I want to bind to a Tiger Familiar instead, how long would the process take?

  • You erase your previous familiar, wait a week, and then link with a new one.

Types

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#q91313035

Are the familiar we have the only type of familiars that can be summoned in the multiverse or other type of familiar exist that we cannot summon?

  • Yes, there are others. Liches could learn another magic system that has different familiars. They wouldn't obey you though, and they might work on mana instead of souls. They'd basically be summons "native" to that magic system, unrelated to yours. Other Sons have different familiars, or share some with you.

Fighting while Wounded

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775129
https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775214

  • Tahneem are really tanky, and the can fight at full strenght basically until they die.

I assume the undead death lords could as well so this seems moot

  • Tahneem have more "hp", so it applies. Also a Death Lord losing their eyes or an arm heavily affects their combat prowess. Tahneem could have their eyes popped out and still fight as usual, their eyes decorations really, and chopping serpent tentacles means you now have an extra foe to kill. Death Lord's are still stupidly tenacious, just that mechanically, missing a limb affects their combat potential

Lesser Minion Evolution

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775333

Can lesser minions "evolve" to become superior minions, like Black Wyverns becoming Black Dragons?

  • No, but they can get stronger, though not decisively enough that they can match a Superior minion. Superior minions are special, they're in fact the representation of the archetypes you have access to.

Mind of Uplifted Tahneem

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#90796093

Do uplifted Tahneem still have the "alien mind" thing going that makes them bad at commanding most minions? How does uplifting affect someone's mind in general, and could possible unwanted side effects be avoid? Or removed with (Alter Soul) and/or Ghost Fire?

  • Someone uplifted into Tahneem would resist the mental change the more magical potential they already had. Transforming an Instagram “influence” would net you a very confused Tahneem, with almost no semblance of humanity, while some tg nerd would work better, while keeping most of his humanity.

Pope's Minions

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91474030

popes must have the requirements to summon a minion (like elemental simulacrum for giants)?

  • No, otherwise they'd be too limited

Races

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91475232

what's the race of stuff like entropy heralds, einherjar, valkyries, masters etc.? Are they living, undead, weird spiritual things or something weirder

  • I didn't think much about race, I guess some form of ascended, physical spirit? Ascended Masters have some divinity to them, being sort of demigods

Single Combat

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775053
https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775105

What's the most powerful Minion in single combat?

  • Black Dragons. Old, experienced Death Lords could beat one, but Black Dragons aren't "JRPG common enemy dragon" they're "Legendary beings of impossible destruction whose mere words cause kings to kneel" type of dragons, and they grow stronger with age (though not as fast as Death Lords). Tahneem can fight pretty well, but they're more "mothership" based monsters than straight up combatants.
  • context matters. An army of Death Lords could beat a similar number of Black Dragons, simply because the Black Dragons would not work together, would disperse, and some would even kill each other. If they were under Ebon's control, however, they'd blitz Death Lord army.

Size and Physical Stats

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91472465

  • Some minions I left vague since applying precise measurements on large scales is difficult, as the fantasy I was going for was about the ultimate result and not the exact mechanics of every stats. For example Death Lords. Being x160 stronger than a human, in my mind, meant they could throw a 160kg spear as a human could a 1kg one, which while strong, is not terribly impressive. I didn't account for them being several hundreds of times faster than a human linearly, just that they could move impossibly fast, specially if specializing and using abilities in such ways. Tahneem I imagine them as sort of small kaiju sized (without accounting for tentacle length, main body is about small Godzilla sized), with similar destructive capabilities, such as breaking down small buildings and such, or large ones if their tentacles get enough momentum. I imagined them as squishy but "thick" to cut through, much like a real octopus, which I have actually hunted before with my grandfather. In my mind, they have low Def, and high HP.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91472619

is the humanoid Scylla form also gigantic?

  • No, they're human sized, maybe a bit shorter or larger if you want to.

Spirit Roost

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91474447

can spirit roosts be carried around as spheres of power or that is just a temporary state?

  • Temporary state.

when they are made into spheres and shot as a beam by you, your minion or gifts they "die" correct?

  • They die yes. It is a really strong attack though,. They're meant to round out Soul magic users.

how strong is really this attack? would it work against powerful enemies?

  • Yes, though it depends on the enemy and their type, so to speak. It would one shot Moloch, and could instakill the Draconic Conquistador if caught off-guard and hitting him in a weak spot. The True Goddess probably wouldn't even notice you shot her with it.

Succubi

Customization

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91234333/#91253576

At the beginning of the minion introduction it’s been explained that you can customize minions within limitation, but in the succubus section It’s stated another time that you can customize them, what is the difference?

  • It was meant to emphasize the sexual nature of Succubi, that they get more customization choices than usual. I might elaborate later, but it's just meant to cover the coomer option without dwelling to much on it. Succubi were originally maids and utility based servants btw, I changed them to expand their skillsets and give anons a reliable coomer option.

Fixation Change

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#90796093

Could I make Succubi that are fixated on someone other than me?

  • You can alter Succubi for that, imprinting them on someone else. They can be good rewards for others.

Tahneem vs Death Lord

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775122
https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775214

Who would win between a Tahneem and a Death Lord with their respective armies?

  • Depends, you mean equal numbers, Death Lords having full soul capacity, how old they are, how many thralls and sea serpents do Tahneem have etc. Straight up, off the cuff, a Tahneem beats a Death Lord, but just barely. An experienced Death Lord can beat a Tahneem consistently, though it would take him some time to kill it. A Tahneem with a large army could outmaneuver and kill an experienced Death Lord. 10 experienced Death Lords, working together, could quickly kill a Tahneem, even if the Tahneem amassed a large army.
  • Tahneem are really tanky, and the can fight at full strenght basically until they die. That's why speed matters when dealing with them. Generally, Death Lord units are the strongest available to you, and the more you can support them with Familiars, Death Knight squires, veteran Death Lords leading them, etc... The more effective they are. This is just working off their base, without Gifts, Perks or Walk Blessed powers

Their armies consist of thematically appropriate minions. Hitsuji, Whispers, and Deep ones for the Tahneem. Death Knights (main force), Dark Mages, and Black Wyverns for the Death Lord. (These army compositions are the ones I thought would synergies the most together, feel free to change them if I'm wrong.)
Without their commander, the 2 armies are equal if they fight.

  • With equal amount of souls spent? Death Lords win, more decisively the more experienced they are. Tahneem have more "agent" potential, and Dreamlands presence with their armies. Death Lords and those armies destroy Tahneem armies.

Themes

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775333

  • Other Sons have different minion choices and themes. Your themes are based on Black Dragons, Liches, Elder Vampires and Death Lords, with smatterings of Dream and Pleasure based options because of the nature of the plane you were born in (Earth).

Trading

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90903284

Can sons trade the ownership of minions?

  • No. You can assign them to other people to so they obey them, but will ultimately always follow you first.

Turning Black Dragon Minions/Gifts into Dracoliches

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#q90796241

whats stopping anons from just turning their black dragons/black dragon gifts into dracoliches

  • The fact that all minions return to the Father once dead, and cannot be recycled as other minion types or souls. You can still have dracoliches through other means. If you hunt dragons, you can just raise them and imbue their souls into them. You need Necromancy and Soul Magic for that though, and some powerful draconic souls need a lot of work and the right body and materials to make a dracolich out of them. Ectos makes this easier.
  • Gifts cannot be transformed into other minion types.

Memory

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93586445/#93589067

on the speak as he oath its written that your mind cannot loose skills in languages from this moment on, but you already have an eidetic memory

  • perfect recall doesn’t really mean your skills are kept as sharp though it certainly helps. For example, I speak Spanish natively but sometimes I get tongue twisted because I haven’t used it in a long time. It doesn’t mean your skill degrades significantly or you lose memories, just that you can get rusty over time if you don’t use it.

Mixing Void Cutter with Elements

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91641610/#91644089

what would happen if you mix void cutter with wind and lightning? water makes it last more and gravity attacks, would wind and lightning have something special or just more damage?
Not him, but I imagine every element confers some sort of effect. For Earth, I bet you could weave in the Root function, using it to trap someone. Water might be also be able to use Flow to dispel buffs.

  • Earth: A bit what that other anon said. It has a slow function, and is more "solid", but a bit slow, not being an instant cut.
  • Wind: Extremely fast multislash, but weaker. Much harder to dodge.
  • Lightning: This one is easy. A heavy lightning strike. Big, instant damage.
  • Imbuing Void Cutter isn't easy at all, that's something you'd expect from a build focused on it in some way (like an Ascended Master build or one using it as the main offensive attack).

Multiversal Faction Relations

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93841183/#93841226

if the father and by extension sons have as enemies the prince and the mother, then does the hound have hostility against other forces? (i assume the mother but i needed to ask). or every single big faction wants to tip to shreds the other?

  • The Hound has hostility against every single faction, the stronger the more tenaciously he antagonizes them. The others have too much nuance to really give a definitive answer. The Prince-aligned forces are very widespread but rather chaotic in terms of agendas, as the Prince did things seemingly without rhyme or reason before and hasn’t even been active at all (or even heard of) in years. The Father’s forces are very loosely aligned with each other, but all advance entropy in some way or another by design, though there are still dedicated cults and realms for Him. The Mother is the most managed and centralized of the 3, but spends too many resources fighting almost everyone such that they can’t properly focus on any particular foe. While sometimes some parts of each faction can work together, they are at the end of the day very opposing forces.

Nature Element

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90895004

What does the nature element do? The gravity bonus confuses me.

  • Nature is more advanced Earth Magic, opening an entire different element. Gravity is an advanced (and very difficult) application of it. Nature just lets you do druid shit: grow forests, some healing magic, control animals etc... These are all soul inefficient though; growing a large forest would cost several other large forests worth of souls to do, not to mention it would be very difficult, as you don't have any special talents relating to non-entropic powers.

Necromancy and Create Undead

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#q91313035

How strong are the skeletons created by necromancy? and what is the difference between them end experts “soldiers” created with the modifier?

  • Necromancy does not create undead servants. It reanimates them. Create Undead is there to give you a reliable source of undead servants. Necromancy shines best when you have a large variety of corpses available. Their strength depends on the corpses you're using.

Oath Givers' Backstories

He Who Pursues

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93644914/#93646943

  • He Who Pursues was born in a world afflicted by multiple Demiurges masquerading as gods, who enforced brutal religious creeds in false promises of an afterlife, only giving a horrible fate after death. He saw a vision of what happened to those that went under the Demiurges' grasp when becoming a Son, and despite the fact that he had no loved ones as he was an acolyte taken away from his family at a young age to an ascetic cult, he steeled his resolve into a weapon built for taking down Demiurges. He hunted over several years every single Demiurge that once afflicted his world, giving peace to those caught by them, and hasn't stopped since then. Once he catches a whiff of one he will pursue them until he eventually catches them, a fact that has made him seem unstoppable to most. He has never failed in hunting one, eventually catching those few that manage to escape.

Karac

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93644914/#93646600

  • Karac enters into constant battles with the Hound since he actively picks fights with him, and he responds in kind. He's trying to sort of usurp it in his own way, mostly out of pride and bloodthirst. Karac was nearly killed by an Exalted Conqueror early on, and was a frail, abused slave before being a Son, who grew to hate everything and everyone around him, and his bloodthirsty retaliation against creation has become second nature over time. He is still civil when in Son meetings, but that's mostly because of age and gratitude to the Father.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93644914/#93646943

  • Karac was a miserable, sickly, and crippled slave turned orphan that was constantly abused and was near death before becoming a Son. He killed everyone in his world, and got hounded by an Exalted Conqueror for a while early on, until he won after many brutal battles.

Petros

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93644914/#93646943

  • Petros was a nobleman mage that always had a gloomy but very benevolent disposition. He was a bit conflicted with his new powers but later on decided to maximize as much happiness as possible for those that currently exist, and defeat evil wherever he finds it.

Soleac

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93644914/#93646943

  • the gist is that after a grueling search he found the Father, as in face to face, and from this contact he became a Son.

Origin Dragon

How to Be an Origin Dragon

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#91312172

Is “Origin dragon” just a title given to the strongest of dragons?

  • That's a title you achieve by completing 3 requisites: becoming powerful enough, mastering Power Word to a certain level, and spreading your Dragon type all over existence, and have it make a meaningful impact in reality. You gain certain powers from it that I may elaborate on later.

Original Origin Dragon Drawback

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473104

  • Origin Dragon as a drawback was originally 2 Gifts from an ancient Son nuking your planet without checking who was inside. You could try to contact them as they came first, and they'd get you out first, or you could planeswalk out beforehand. This was changed for various, obvious reasons, and because I like dragons.

Power

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91437874/#q91445539

  • You are completely and utterly outmatched by an Origin Dragon. That's an endgame opponent only an Elder Son could match. It could wipe out every single build with ease, even dream builds would get destroyed as its breath bends reality and destroys the nearby hells and Dreamlands. It is an absurd opponent, the only thing in the vicinity capable of fighting it being Grim or a wandering, ancient Exquisite Noble (and only if the Noble could drag him into the Dreamlands, and even then it would only be capable of fighting it for some time, victory being impossible for the Noble).

Pain

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91540155/#91547723

Pain works especially well with ascended type of beings, so I assume it would work well with demiurges, but what other kind of entities does it works well on?

  • Gods are VERY weak to them, since it forces them into an experience that is otherwise alien to them. True Goddesses can be staggered for a bit if hit all of a sudden, though they adapt very quickly. Alien beings in between dimensions are forced into a more mortal/humanoid mindset, as such it is very effective against them. Some demons and Mother servants are really weak to it too. Hound related beings and Tempered Heroes are more likely to get stronger from it though.

Perfect Prince

Description

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473104

  • The Perfect Prince's name comes from Slaneesh, but the identity predates it. In truth, its identity in my mind is much more older than the cyoa, before I even knew about Warhammer. In my mind, there's a Slaanesh style Exquisite Noble, but the Perfect Prince is more abstract, not the in your face coomerism of Slaanesh. The Great God Pan, early depictions of dark forests filled with Satyrs, Eastern heavenly gardens, mirrored, prism realities, strange horizons, flower monstrosities, Morrowind concept art, all these things are in my mind when thinking of things relating to it.

Dreamlands

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90813631/#90817085

how much of the Dreamlands does the Perfect Prince control and how powerful is he inside?

  • He controls a decent chunk, but he's not the main force there, thought definitely has the biggest foothold there of all major powers. The Dreamlands are largely decentralized and mostly ignored in the grand scheme of things, sort of seen as a relevant but not mandatory undercurrent to reality, and powers that access it are rare, and beings that can be powerful in the Dreamlands and waking world even rarer.

How to Defeat

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90813631/#q90817029

What are the chances of the anti Perfect Prince alliance winning?
I think quite a few ancient Sons would be willing to support this endeavor as Protocol FULCRUM is literally built to defeat the Perfect Prince, making this the best opportunity to get rid of this powerful enemy, so take this into account.

  • You need a big ass alliance to even survive. Resources, planning, brutal war effort. You're dedicating the rest of your existence and all you are to fighting the Perfect Prince. Otherwise, you may as well go hide in some hole far away from it. You picked a fight with one of the top dogs. Older, more powerful beings have been destroyed in their efforts. The Perfect Prince has servants stronger than you, and servants that will always be a threat even in the far future, when you're way stronger.
  • The crux of your build is whether you can get the Machine Gods into an alliance of sorts against the Prince, this would be what truly distinguishes you from other pretenders. This has never been done before, as True AIs are mad, unreliable, cruel, alien and incomprehensible, and not only is communication difficult, but very likely to get you a fate far worse than death. You better be willing to throw your life to kill the Perfect Prince. You wanted ultra hard mode, you got it.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90813631/#90817187

  • A lot of Sons would not want to join in, they'd rather do their own thing and avoid such a direct and decisive campaign and confrontation. It's a big, risky fight, that would require full dedication, it is a grand ambition and calling. As I said, the hardest difficulty.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90805263/#90808358

Protocol FULCRUM

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90805263/#q90808521

  • Cool ass build anon, and great plan. The Perfect Prince is one of the top dogs in all of existence, the chances of winning are miniscule. However, you have the right grindset, abilities and approach to make those miniscule odds real, with insane work and willpower. You're custom made and BUILT to fight it. You're right in searching for allies since soloing the Perfect Prince and its entire ecosystem is impossible.

Phylacteries

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473927

  • Phylacteries: you can make as many as you want. Making one takes a lot of effort and time, though, at least one day of work. The perks only boost the amount of Phylacteries you can be linked to, you could make hundreds of phylacteries for hundreds of people (if their souls can hold them, even with Link it's usually one phylactery per soul, though stronger minions or those related to you should be able to hold around 3 if you have link, otherwise 1 as a rule of thumb). If you have "space" for it, and a prepared phylactery, you can bind it instantly. Losing a phylactery and then refilling that gap in your soul to rebind a new one to replace it isn't easy, you'd have to wait a couple of weeks (or way longer for people without normal affinity to entropy) to refill that slot with a backup phylactery, so abusing a billion phylacteries isn't possible. So yes, you could have a bunch of premade phylacteries, but would not be able to bound them immediately upon losing one, so they're not true, instant backups. People that have the power can get more yes. In your specific case, if you don't have create phylactery, you can still receive as many phylacteries as the person who made it can hold (so Ectos could link you up with 5, for example). Also, Liches only have Phylacteries and their modifiers if you have purchased them, though the assumption is if you have Liches, why would you not have phylacteries in the first place? They're a requirement for a reason. Phylacteries are still one of the best forms of immortality in existence, almost no Son goes without them.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473944

  • On making phylacteries, you don't have to physically craft the object, and you don't have to sit down and all the work in one sitting. Just preparing the object with soul and death energy is what is required. Ectos can do it faster than a day. Drace can do it in about 2 hours, the fastest anyone can. A lot of shit Drace does defies logic, so she's not a good reference point.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91474030

If someone makes phylacteries for you and you don't have Link, can you still pick which phylactery we respawn to or is it random?

  • It's random, but it still offers the dimensional protection; if you die inside a dimension with no phylacteries, you respawn on the one that has them.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#91313067

Is the resurrection in another dimension with the “link” modifier only available to you if you take it or is it available to other beings with the souls attuned to a phylactery created by you?

  • Available to others as well, if you pay the price for a phylactery with that modifier.

Power Level of the Setting

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91540155/#q91547646

What exactly is the power level of the setting? How powerful are average Sons, ancient Sons, True Goddesses, the Father, etc.?
The Origin Dragon will destroy your dimension, the nearby dreamlands and hells very quickly. The OG apocalypse Drawback involved 2 Gifts of an ancient Son dropping by and instantly destroying your planet, and soon afterwards your dimension and local hells and dreamlands. Falista is gonna be nuking countries Son. 10000 or so Serpents could do a Rumbling style event. A moderate Death Lord with a bit of experience, and a couple of levels and techniques, is Yonko level, parting the skies, breaking/sinking islands in half, etc...

Rejuvenate

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#91313067

can you ask someone to use rejuvenate to your minions if you don’t have it? And if it can be done who decides on what the minion will look like? The son who summoned it or the one who used rejuvenate?

  • Yes, you can ask someone to use Rejuvenate. It's not a common spell, though. It's pretty high end. The one who rejuvenates decides, but you can of course ask for it to look a certain way.

Reverberating Harpoon

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91437874/#q91445539

  • Reverberating Harpoon is the best weapon against enemies like powerful dragons and such, and proper usage lets you punch way above your weight class.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473846

Can you pick what soul is to be struck by the harpoon?

  • No, first soul hit. Mastery lets you add extra power to pierce through weaker souls or discriminate a bit.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473846

Can you have multiple harpoon launchers at the same time? To shoot multiple harpoons at once.

  • No. One launcher.

Sanguine Evolution

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91395714/#q91397469

  • it is difficult to pick what you get per individual, and to what degree. Fleshwarp helps you adjust their intensity, but often there are abilities you won’t get off a mutation, otherwise it would just be a full transformation, and is the reason why it requires careful study and experimentation. Another fact which is told in the ability description, is weaknesses always come with strengths, and redundant abilities are covered. You could take Sangra’s and Kirilia’s blood, only to get Kirilia’s psychic abilities (stronger) but not Sangra’s ability to steal them. It would also give you catastrophic consequences, balancing them out. Also, replacing an evolution gets rid of all skills acquired through it, so eating a vampire and then replacing Sangra’s abilities would replace anything acquired using it. Evolution makes you more like the target of evolution, so think back for a moment. Kirilia and Sangra have really cool abilities, yes. They also have limited soul capacities. And can’t summon minions. And can’t use the vast majority of entropic abilities available. You see where I’m going with this? The ability affects the soul first, then the body, modifying, not adding, so stronger abilities relative to your own must come with greater weaknesses. Taking in Sangra and Kirilia to make yourself a super chimera of the two, ALSO comes with equivalent weaknesses, that must come from somewhere, as there is never a mutation that outright makes you stronger without nerfing something.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91641610/#91642737

What's the actual deal with Sanguine Evolution?
Some anons are saying you can lose your soul capacity, minion summoning powers and other entropic abilties. Others have suggested you meant soul capacity as in the ability to learn new magic, and another here seemed to suggest you can actually somehow choose your weaknesses you take on

  • What I meant is that if you're using minions and Gifts that come from YOU, the drawbacks have to come from somewhere, and they would limit your potential as it's taking parts of you while forsaking others. Absorbing and outside being wouldn't affect your soul capacity in any way. The main thing about Evolution, it's the Rogue (from the Rogue, Mage, Warrior trio) way to improve your abilities. You can store large amounts of varied blood types to give yourself specific advantages against certain opponents, play with combinations to give yourself decisive powerups while giving away inconsequential things in return. It gives you a tremendous amount of powers available, that you have to experiment with and use intelligently to get the most out of. You could crazy things like stack up a bunch of physical boosters at the expense of losing all magic, blitz an opponent, and then deactivate your mutations and go back to normal and fight with your base mage build. It requires setup and creativity. It's the way to translate rogue skills in a high power setting.

Sex Magic in Combat

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91415865/#q91419776

  • Sex Magic is completely useless in combat unless it’s the empowered form. You’re wasting your time looking for applications for it really.

Shared Universe with Exalted Conquest

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93586445/#93589761

Is exalted set in the same world as entropist? Or is this completely separated?

  • it's in the same setting. You're sent to a different world. There is no Son awakening on Earth since it would make things too complicated to balance though, and Sons are just too strong for an early Conqueror to beat, and I wanted to keep a return option.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93586445/#93589801

So we're in an alternate Earth where Sons didn't awaken, different multiverse "cluster"?

  • think of it as a "what if" if you woke up as a Conqueror instead of a Son

Sons

Absorbing the Souls of Powerful Beings

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91310646/#91312172

If a son finds a way to kill a tempered hero, a true goddess or a machine god can he absorb their souls and bring them in his sanctum and possibly alter their souls?

  • Machine Gods degrade too quickly to be absorbed, Tempered Heroes can be absorbed, but their raw willpower and ability to be "free" makes them ticking time bombs. True Goddesses are more or less living chunks of existence , entire domains in an of themselves. They're way heavier than you in that department. You could maybe absorb a tiny, tiny one, but that's very likely going to end very poorly for you, and it has never been done. It's like imagining a Son being absorbed by a Demiurge or have his soul taken by a Demon; maybe a really weak Son could get taken, but that's such a complicated, dumb thing to do, and it has never been tried.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91474563

you already told us that a son cannot absorb tempered heroes souls, true goddesses souls, and even machine gods souls, but what about the rest? can they absorb a daughter soul or a exquisite noble soul? and what gender exquisite nobles?

  • They can actually. A Daughter or Exquisite Noble would apply the effects of Beacon, at least temporarily, except much more powerful and focused on beings of the Mother and Prince. The servants of the Prince probably won't do anything, though that depends on the Exquisite Noble and whether you have Pleasure Target. The Daughter is a big deal and will have you targeted by Saints and Knight all over. You're 100% going to be pursued with impunity by whatever forces were tasked with protecting the Daughter. You wouldn't' be the first Son to kill a Daughter, so it's not like this is unsurmountable, though it is a big player action, so you better be a big player and back your shit up, or die for aiming beyond your means.

Children

Bloodline

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93578612/#93580694

How many descendants are granted the 40 points? Are only your immediate children granted power? Or do a direct, unbroken line get diminishing returns? 40-20-10 etc?

  • There are diminishing returns down your line the further they are from you but it also depends on how much care you put into raising them and being engaged with your descendants. The mother also matters in such scenarios. Descendants of Gifts will hold out better than others.

Through Grim Puppeteer

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/93578612/#93580694

If you remove the soul of a recently created undead minion, then possess it with grim puppeteer and use sex magic on one of your gifts to get them with child. Will those children count as yours for the sake of raising and the +40 soul stipend all kids of a son get?

  • technically your souls is what matters but the vessel is also important. In the case of Grim Puppeteer: Distance, I was imagining more like your soul being used as wi-fi of sorts, entering the body but still bound to your original vessel, maybe imagine it like a string attached to it that returns to the main body.

General Behavior

PDF

  • Sons are a diverse bunch, but they have some characteristics that are fairly common amongst them.
  • They rarely join groups or factions, and tend to have little loyalty or care for great causes, though a large number of them are ideologically aligned with the Father, and in the advancement of Entropy.
  • They almost never work together but tend to be hospitable and positively inclined to give localized help to each other. As such, meeting a Son should be seen as a positive occurrence, where you both host each other, exchange gifts and information, and the eldest Son usually helps the youngest one in some immediate way. Afterwards, your part ways, and likely won't call upon each other as allies or contacts in the future, but will both likely leave with a positive impression. If you're in mortal danger, and there's a Son nearby, chances are he'll come to your rescue.
  • In that respect, conflicts and fights amongst Sons are almost unheard of. Treating each other dishonesty is seen as a sign of shame and mockery. Older Sons tend to spend most of their time in their Sanctums, which may become some of the most beautiful paradises in existence, where they all keep their family members in endless bliss.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91472909

How viable is immediately going to Pluto's Den and ask Pluto for a small loan of a billion (or more?) souls?

  • Sons almost never loan to each other, specially since you're basically still a child in their eyes. The circumstances and context of your birth are also supremely easy compared to most Sons, who are usually born in magical and much more dangerous worlds (Pluto had to fight and kill an Exquisite Noble early on, and almost got killed by local Tempered Heroes, for example)
  • You're basically asking for help in supremely easy circumstances early. They'd think you'd be joking at first.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91474074

  • There usually aren't many Sons to set up a financial system, and almost all bartering is playing to each Son's strength, trading artifacts and specific soul type. Example: a hunter style Son trading a 10.000.000 souls worth demiurge to a genocide Son for 300.000.000 worth of low power souls. Each one is playing to his strengths and has different uses for each soul.

Innate Defenses

Generally

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90894931
https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90894941

Does the base son have any defenses? or are they just a human with powers? By that I mean that you start with the whole soul regeneration and some anons thought that means you regenerate from anything that does not destroy your soul. If an starting son that just got their powers went outside their house and got shot in the head by some random thug, are they dead?

  • Nope, though your mind is separate from your body, and as such brain damage isn't really much of an issue (unless it fucks with your ability to control your body too much). The defenses are mostly against magic, mind control, conceptual bullshit etc. Getting physical defenses against guns from Earth is trivial, as using the smallest bit of defense focused powers makes it so completely non-magical attacks (from rare, completely mundane worlds like Earth) do basically nothing to you. When you learn other world systems, your body adapts and naturally becomes more attuned to magic, and this is no longer required. This is mostly because you were born on Earth, a magically desolate wasteland. Boost from Consume Soul is enough for this, for example.
  • if you fleshwarp or alter your body with elemental magic or something, you also basically become a "magical" being. It really is more of a problem in like, the first day of being a Son. Most of the time you just need to apply magic at least once that affects your body to get it up to speed.

Against the Dreamlands

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#90775673

how fucked is someone if they don't get nightmare power or a minion to defend them while sleeping

  • Not much. Your passives are beefing you the fuck up against psychic attacks. The Eclipsed God is basically using the extra power you took to get its claws on you. If you venture into the Dreamlands, however, yeah you have to be careful. Is not as dangerous as you might think, specially with your passives, but still not a good place to be if you have zero boosts or defenses. You could just sleep normally and stock to your dreams. Sons Passives are way more useful than you might think, and they're really defensively oriented, extremely rare for any powerful being to have such comprehensive resistances. If you step into the Dreamlands, and you have a powerful enemy there, and you have no support... Yeah good luck

Vs True Goddesses

  • I highly advise rethinking your strategy against the True Goddess. They're possibly THE worst matchup against an Entropist, things can go real bad real quick. Her retainers are perfectly manageable, but the goddess herself is just gonna give you a very bad time. Maybe, if you wish to save those people, why not try to take them into your Sanctum? Or try to open a Planeswalking gate to other universes and try to squeeze as many as possible out before she arrives? It's difficult, but possible, and you won't save them all, but fighting a True Goddess is something I highly, highly, highly recommend you avoid, much like trying to fight an Origin Dragon to prevent the Apocalypse.

Soul Drain

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90848206/#q90852297

  • Soul Drain has more uses than you might think even when not sucking up, and I’ll add it to the lore section. You’re establishing a direct connection with another being’s soul, allowing you to apply all manner of effects directly to them (all Sons have this ability, and use it in some capacity for a reason).

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91472619

what sort of noise does the lightning make? (I recall that you said it's green in color, so fairly eye-catching.)

  • Soul Drain sounds like the Star Wars generic sound, or the Skyrim sound, crackling, clearly loud (nowhere near the level of a gunshot though). It's not stealthy at all without the required modifier.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91472916

when you say "aging and damaging the victim's body until it perishes", does "perishes" mean that the body dissolves into dust, or do they just get reduced to a corpse?

  • becoming a charred husk. If you apply drain on the soulless husk for a couple of extra seconds, I'm gonna say it turns to dust.

Soul Gems

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473846
https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473857

  • Soul Gems aren't instant "mana potions". They transfer souls to the holder at a rate of 100 souls per second, but the holder needs to concentrate while touching one, and has to sort of "prepare" the stone beforehand, akin to opening a small hole in a balloon, so using it in the middle of battle is possible but not instant, and may make the soul gems leak completely if prepared way before the battle. They can be installed on weapons, artifacts and machines easily though, are perfect for enchanting, and refilling magical reserves of artifacts and such.
  • Soul Gems don't need to be used up all at once like that, and can be customized, transfer soul between each other, etc... Just that for directly transferring souls to you in the middle of battle, delicate handling while maintaining efficiency and high transfer speed, is nearly impossible. They're best suited for utility and out of combat usage.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#90796093

Do Liches' soul gems come fully charged as part of the creation cost, or do they need to be filled up with another max capacity worth of souls? Are they consumed on use, or rechargeable?

  • Lich gems start out empty and can be recharged. They do not transfer souls immediately to a user, but are pretty fast all things considered.

Soul Transfer

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91473846

Can minions transfer souls among each other? Can they use easy transfer that way?

  • They can transfer souls but it is very difficult depending on the minion type, even more than to you. Those with Easy Transfer can do it easily by touch though.

Spheres under Elemental Magic

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90769392/#q90775830

Wtf do the spheres under Elemental magic mean

  • If you master an Elemental Magic, and study it extensively, you may use other types of magic by proxy using it. Those are the spheres, not full magical systems you can easily control, but can definitely access in some capacity due to their connection with an element.

Starting with Walk Blessed

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90791057/#q90796320

are you allowed to have walk blessed in your starting points or no?

  • You can start with Walk Blessed, IF you set all your future powers and choices in stone. As in, you can't change your build afterwards. Otherwise, a vampiric based blessing coukd be abused by the player not taking future vampiroc skill that the blessing was based on. Otherwise, Walk Blessed must activate later. You can keep Walk Blessed skill between versions etc, as long as you have the same theme and powers the Walk Blessed skill obviously based itself on, or affects in any capacity. There are some starter powers you begin with though, such as the Extra Lives, extra phylacteries, gift summon the 1 Wizard Tower, etc... Mostly to help you early on. It's a direct blessing from the Father after all, outside of the more strict rulings of the setting. Generally, interpret the wording benevolently, but not disingenuously.

Stillness

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91540155/#91547723

Is there anything stopping us from using Stillness in a library or server room and acquiring knowledge at a superhuman rate as a result?

  • No at the time you use it. Though you still have to process it, ruminate, and understand it afterwards, after you're done using Stillness. It's like watching a bunch of home improvement youtube shorts, and then never checking on them again. How much of that info is sticking with you if you don't engage with it or seek to apply it? Even if you technically know it, you don't truly understand it after Stillness runs its course. Lich and Ascended Master transformations make this easier, and you will eventually be able to do just that.

True Resurrection on Sons

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91498198/#91498979

  • True Resurrection does not apply to you; if you die and have no way to come back, you're taken back to the Father. There are other forms of immortality you could potentially acquire, such as spreading yourself over multiple Doll bodies, if you have the right powers and/or blessing for it, so Extra Lives and Phylactery aren't the only ways to escape death.

Tempered Hero

Description

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90805263/#90808297

  • Tempered heroes are common men that after struggling and fighting impossible opponents, forcibly surpass their limits and become extremely strong. They come in all shapes and sizes, but are really rare, and really are dispersed amongst organizations, as solo agents, etc.
  • Tempered Heroes are will and strife made manifest, covering their souls and attacks with it, breaching and forcing entropy down by virtue of their cruel motion.

Son Becoming a Tempered Hero

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90903284

Can a Son become a tempered hero?

  • A Son technically could, but It has never happened though, all that free shit and survivability get rid of the effort and strife required to reach that level.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91415865/#q91419776

  • your chances at becoming a Tempered Hero are… slim, to say the least. Evey single non-Son human on Earth has a MUCH greater chance of becoming one, and most likely Earth won’t produce a single Tempered Hero. You’re last in line, and it’s a long ass line.

Matchups

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90805263/#90808297

  • Tempered Heroes would struggle against a Demiurge, while the Demiurge itself would go AIEEEEEEEEEEE SON SAMA I KNEEL to you since it would have no way to deal with you. Likewise, Sons are probably better off avoiding Tempered Heroes, or fighting them indirectly.

Transformation into Tempered Hero

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91384383/#91385403

elaborate on the nature of tempered heroes, like what exactly changes in them and if someone becomes a tempered hero overnight after a long period of struggle, or if it is more like a gradual thing and a person slowly becomes one? And also if becoming a tempered hero gives you special powers beside apparent immunity to entropy?

  • It's a gradual thing, and they gain a variety of powers over time.

Vs Sons

  • Most minions and Gifts are using your base power and archetypes, and tend to have the same overall weaknesses and strengths as you (with obvious exceptions, like Astra). Notice how most still use souls and have entropic abilities. Obviously it depends on context, minion or Gift type, etc but Tempered Heroes are bad news for almost every Son, their minions and their Gifts (remember Sons have a wide variety of Gifts and minions outside of Earth). You can imagine someone like Alta could put up a better fight than say Ebon, but both would still lose as their abilities begin failing them. Ester would probably your best Gift to use against such an opponent, not to beat them, but to occupy them and generally make it so they can't do meaningful damage to your operation as you try to outmaneuver them. You have to get creative with Tempered Heroes.
  • Or you can do what big dick Sons do and toss an enslaved Demiurge at them and call it a day.

What Normally Happens to the Souls of the Dead on Earth

Echoed Roar says souls of the dead on Earth stay "fresh" and available for absorption for ~4 h, but what happens to them after that? Do they drift into some other world, reincarnate, or something else?

  • They stick around as very faint traces for decades, that you can only recall with Seance and such, and then they escape this dimension, where they may reincarnate if they had some magical potential, whisked away by some being from there (this is very rare to occurs, specially coming from Earth, and usually implies high a Feast of Evil stack) or just go back to the Father.

Why so Much Shit Is Happening on Earth All at Once

Why the Events Are Happening

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90893632/#90894978

If Earth is such magicless trash. why are so many things (events) happening all at once? Is it just coincidence?

  • (you) are the reason. For example: The Dragon sensed more magic than there really was, and just said "fuck it I already invested a tremendous amount of resources to colonize this place, let's do it". True Goddesses are always looking for their Destined Grooms, and the "ping" from Earth gave one of them a signal her Groom was there. The Shadow Legion made a random jump to a nearby magical on their way to escape from a lost battle, your world overflowing with magic at the right time. Something similar to the Demiurge (which may as well be a sunday cartoon character with its bad luck).

Why Father Decided to Ascend So Many Sons All at Once in the Same Place

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/91472211/#91474424

is there an in lore reason for multiplayer anons on why father decided to ascend so many sons all at once in the same place?

  • No, multiplayer was added last, and actually contradicts my notes on certain things in the setting. I'll say it was a coincidence, and all your souls are somehow connected in some way that made you have that special something to be Sons. Maybe it was coming to tg and playing the cyoa haha.

hmmmmm
Hey Multiplayer Anons
If you want me https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/90762704/#90766902 to give you the Sleepless Perk, then I get to impregnate one of your Gifts and will take the child as my own when it is born.
Artificial Insemination only.
No other deals will work.
