Perhaps the most important right that we as Canadians have is found in Section 15 of the Canadian Charter of Rights

"Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability".
-Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms Section, Equality Rights, Section 15, Subsection 1
What this means is you're just as equal as your next door neighbour, or your manager, or even your Prime Minister! We all have the same rights and cannot be discriminated for the way we are.
