Don't
- Saying “you remind me of [ID]!”
- (That implies I'm not the same person as them.)
- Calling the character “your fav” in front of me
- (That can feel like talking about me like a fan, not as the character.)
- Shipping them with other people in front of you without consent
- (It’s like shipping me with someone.)
- Critiquing, mocking, or headcanoning the character in ways that would hurt me
- (Because to me, that is me.)
I share with friends! These change depending on how close we are!
Pls
- Refer to me as the character (or use first-person when talking about them with me)
- (It helps affirm my connection and makes me feel more seen)
- Compliment the character in a way that includes me
- (“You’re really cool” instead of “They’re so cool!”)
- Talk to me about canon events like they happened to me
- (I like being seen as if I lived that life, it feels real to me)
- Show me fanart/fics/scenes you think I’d like as them
- (Especially if it’s something I've talked about before it means a lot)
- Ask for my comfort levels before discussing difficult topics from the canon
- (It shows care and awareness of what might affect me emotionally)
- Use pet names, canon nicknames, or affirming titles if we’re close
- (I often put in lists diffeent names of characters I like so u can call me them!)
