Professional AC Installation Services for Reliable Cooling and Comfort

Professional AC Installation Services
Okay, so. You've picked out an AC. Maybe you spent a week comparing models, reading reviews, arguing with your spouse about inverter vs non-inverter. Good. But nobody talks about the boring bit: who's actually going to put it up.

And honestly? That bit matters more than people think.

I've walked into houses where a pretty expensive unit was barely doing anything. Room still warm, bill through the roof. Nine times out of ten it wasn't the machine. It was the install.

"What size do I need?"
I get asked this constantly. My answer is always "let me see the room first," which annoys people, but it's true. A small bedroom facing west that bakes in the afternoon sun isn't the same as a shaded room on the ground floor, even if both are the same size on paper.

Too small, and it'll run nonstop and still lose the fight in May. Too big is the mistake I see more often, weirdly. People think "extra power, why not." Thing is, an oversized unit chills the room fast, cuts out, and leaves the air feeling damp. Like a cold basement. Not nice to sleep in.

Split, multi-split, central, inverter...
Split ACs are what most homes go for. One indoor, one outdoor, done. Multi-split is nice when you want three rooms cooled but only have space for one box outside. Central suits big buildings. Inverters are smoother and usually cheaper to run, though I won't promise you a specific saving. Too many things affect it.

There's no "best" one. There's the one that fits your house and your wallet.

Before we drill anything
I always walk around first. Where's the nearest socket? Is the wiring old? Where will the water go? Can the outdoor unit sit somewhere it won't roast in full sun or annoy the neighbours with the noise?

The indoor unit shouldn't blow straight at your face while you sleep. Sounds obvious. You'd be surprised.

Mounting, pipes, wires
Loose bracket means rattling at 2 a.m. A unit that isn't level means water running down your nice painted wall. The outdoor one's heavy and it shakes a bit, so it needs a proper solid base.

The copper pipes are where cheap jobs really fall apart. Bad joint, wrong size, a kink somewhere, and you've got a slow gas leak nobody notices till the cooling dies. We pressure test, check for leaks and pull a vacuum before switching on. Takes longer. Worth it.

Wiring too. Bigger units often need their own line and breaker. Please don't run one off an old extension board. I've seen melted plugs.

The water thing
ACs pull water out of the air. A lot, actually, on humid days. If the drain pipe's blocked or doesn't slope down, guess where that water ends up. I always pour some water through and watch it drain before I leave.

Bills
A properly sized, properly fitted unit just doesn't have to work as hard. Add simple stuff like sealing the hole in the wall, cleaning filters, not setting it to 16, and you'll notice. How much exactly? Depends on your unit, your house, the weather, your rates. Anyone giving you an exact number upfront is guessing.

Homes and shops aren't the same job
At home it's mostly comfort and keeping it quiet. A restaurant kitchen or a clinic or a shop with the door opening every two minutes is a whole other story. We usually plan those around business hours so nobody has to shut down.

Last check before I go
I run it. Feel the air. Check the temperature, the drain, the remote, listen for odd sounds. Then I show you how to pull the filter out and clean it. If your installer packs up five minutes after switching it on... yeah, I'd be wary.

After that
Clean the filters, every couple of weeks in dusty months. Keep junk away from the outdoor unit. Get a service now and then. Small stuff caught early is cheap. Ignored, it turns into a big bill.

Picking someone
Ask what the price actually covers. Brackets? Extra pipe? Electrical work? What happens if the wall turns out to be concrete? What's guaranteed, and for how long? The manufacturer's warranty and the installer's guarantee are two different things, by the way.

And don't just grab the cheapest quote. Make sure everyone's quoting for the same work.

Cost
Replacing an old unit in the same spot is usually quick and cheaper. A brand new setup with new wiring, long pipe runs and drilling through thick walls costs more. Send photos and room sizes and you'll get a far more honest quote.

Couple of quick notes
Your AC isn't an air purifier, whatever the box says. It cools and dries the air a bit. You still need to open windows sometimes.

The app control and timers on newer models are genuinely handy. Get the installer to set up the Wi-Fi before they leave. Saves you an hour of frustration later.
