‘MVP/ceremony award monopoly’ Shin Young-seok “You’re good at slickback dancing, right? “I was surprised too.”

KEPCO Shin Young-seok, who received the men's MVP award at the professional volleyball '2023-2024 Dodram V-League All-Star Game' held at Incheon Samsan World Gymnasium in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon on the afternoon of the 27th, is taking a commemorative photo.

‘Veteran’ Shin Young-seok (38, Korea Electric Power Corporation) showed off his excitement in the All-Star Game. He became a ‘star among stars’ by dominating not only the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award but also the Ceremony Award. He smiled brightly, saying, “I’m happy to share memories with my fans.”

Shin Young-seok took home both the men's MVP and the Ceremony Award at the Dodram 2023-24 V-League All-Star Game held at Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon on the 27th.

Shin Young-seok led the team to victory by scoring the most points in the men's game in the first set on this day with 4 points, following Leo (OK Financial Group, 7 points).

What particularly attracted attention was the ceremony.

Shin Young-seok, who successfully attacked in the middle of the set, took out a jump rope and did the 'slickback' dance. Her slick back, which looked like she was levitating, was very popular on her SNS and YouTube, and Shin Young-seok danced while crossing the rope, drawing cheers from her fans.

Shin Young-seok explained, “I put a lot of thought into trying to show something for the fans,” adding, “There were many requests, so I chose the slickback and practiced for about an hour.”

According to his own words, he took home the ‘ceremony award’ after only practicing for an hour. He asked, “Didn’t you dance well?” and then said, “I was surprised too. “I didn’t know you had that kind of talent,” he said.

He laughed and said, “Yesterday in the next room, (Lim) Seong-jin, (Lim) Dong-hyuk, and (Kim) Ji-han prepared until dawn, and I ended up receiving the award.”

Regarding the addition of jumping rope, he said, “I wanted to create a more interesting situation than just doing it, but it didn’t work out well. “I’ll have to practice more next time,” he added.

Shin Young-seok, who received 3 million won in MVP prize money and 1 million won in ceremony award prize money, said he would share the joy with his fans.

He said, “I want to bring a coffee truck and share it with others during home games. I personally had a lot of good things happen this year, including 1,200 blocks and 300 serves. “I will give it back somehow,” he said.
