Tutorial, Casual or Ranked? Which Farflung Daily Attempt Counts
If you play the daily challenge on farflunggame.fun, it helps to know which kind of attempt you are starting before you press Play. The rules are short, but one of them surprises people.
The three ways into a day
| Attempt | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tutorial | One separate clue. It never consumes your daily attempt. |
| Guest / casual Daily | Plays today's five clues, unranked. |
| Ranked Daily | Counts for the leaderboard when ranked sign-in is available. Sign in before starting. |
The rule that surprises people
Opening today's casual clues makes that day's ranked attempt unavailable for the same known identity. That includes a guest session that you later link to your account. In other words: you cannot preview today's questions as a guest and then sign in to rank them.
The help page states it directly, and the leaderboard rules cover the rest.
Other details worth knowing
- One ranked attempt per UTC day. A new challenge opens at 00:00 UTC; the previous board closes at 00:10 UTC.
- A ranked game started before midnight keeps its session limit, up to ten minutes from the start.
- Only total kilometres decide position. Equal scores tie; time is not a hidden tie-breaker.
- The weekly board adds your best five eligible daily scores in the UTC Monday-to-Sunday week.
- Unlimited, Wander and closed archive challenges stay available after you finish, and they do not buy another ranked attempt.
Suggested order for a new player: tutorial first, then sign in, then the ranked Daily, then Unlimited or Wander for as long as you like.
