fasieverse

fantasie + –verse

a term inspired by misceverse, pastryverse, and other similar terms that have popped up in the community since the rise of misceverse terms.

what is fasieverse?

a lifestyle based around adventurers and adventuring culture within stereotypical european medieval fantasy settings. rather than being based in biological features, it's based in the social culture, environment, expectations and roles within adventuring cultures. this is not exclusive to those who are and / or have adventuring-based roles; rather, it's catered to and focused on them, but not exclusive to.

roles

also known as classes, are a person's place within the social culture of (a) fasieverse. one would simply refer to themself as being a knight if their role is a knight, in a similar fashion to how an alpha simply refers to themself as an alpha rather than an alpha dynamic.

these can be anything ranging from townsperson to witch to shopkeeper to prince to barbarian to whatever one's role may be! they can typically be divided between dynamic and stationary, however, some roles may fall between these two categories.

roles are not intended to be strict categories and / or boxes that everyone who identifies with fasieverse may fall into. rather, they are simply a standard part of most stereotypical fantasy settings that making a lifestyle without incorporating them feels wrong — at least, to me.

fasierole

a stereotypical fantasy role and / or class. these include: prince, princess, witch, beast(/dragon), knight, mage, hero, villain, etc. but can really include any fantasy role / class that may be considered "stereotypical."

metirole

a role and / or class that stems from a pre-existing media rather than in stereotypical fantasy settings, OR, a role and / or class that does exist in stereotypical fantasy settings but the user specifically identifies with it in the context of a specific media.

xenorole

a role and / or class that cannot be described, explained and / or conveyed through conventional means; a role and / or class described through atypical concepts that aren't usually used in relation to one's role and / or class.

subrole

also known as subclass, is when one has a role / class that is not their primary but rather is a more specific version of their primary, impacts their primary, etc. one example of this could be someone who's prince role is impacted by their swordsman subrole, or someone who's role is that of a mage that more specifically considers themself an arcanist.

motive

the drive behind why one is the role they are. this can be anything, like wanting to explore and see the world, wanting what's best for your people and / or your family, revenge, etc. see it like why a character does the things they do! why do you have the role that you do? even just "i wanted to" is a valid motive.

groupings

while not required, many adventurers travel within groups. if they don't, they may be referred to as a solo adventurer or a lone adventurer.

parties

parties can mostly be classified into two categories: temporary and (semi)permanent.

a temporary partying group is usually only travelling together for escort missions or a short period of time, and may become a (semi)permanent group over time. they may last for several weeks and / or months; these groups are typically formed out of convenience, money, or other, non-personal reasonings.

a (semi)permanent partying group travels together for several years. some groups set out with the intention of being a (semi)permanent party before disbanding, however, are usually formed between those who know eachother very well and / or have close emotional bonds. but, that is not required at formation and as said before a temporary partying group can become a (semi)permanent partying group.

parties are groups of around 3-8 individuals who travel together, typically with an end goal in mind (does not have to be the same for every party member) and / or doing odd jobs.

guilds

a guild is an (usually) organized group of 9-99 (within fasieverse real-world groups; this number can fluctuate depending on what the users prefer) individuals. these groups typically have set hierarchies and roles within them.

historically, a guild usually refers to an artisan's guild. however, within fasieverse, a guild may have anything it focuses on (or even nothing in particular other than adventuring!). how one chooses to run their guild is ultimately up to themself and their guildmates.

kingdoms

within fasieverse real-world groups, a kingdom refers to a group of 100+ individuals. these are usually operated with set rulers at the top, however, the specifics on how a kingdom is run is ultimately up to the individual / group running the kingdom.

boundship

two or more individuals who identify with fasieverse that are in some way bound together. this can refer to a weapon and their wielder, soulmates within a fasieverse, a permanent partying group, those under the same curse, a patron god and their paladin, etc.

media

one's fasieverse may or may not take more inspiration from video game fantasy aesthetics, book fantasy aesthetics, or whatever other medium fantasy stories may be told through.

setting

while fasieverse itself is primarily inspired by stereotypical european medieval fantasy settings, it gives room for other medieval fantasy settings as well. this does not condone the aestheticization of real-world cultures; rather, one's fasieverse may take inspiration from other regions of the world instead of europe.

this can also refer to if one's fasieverse takes specific inspiration from or is a particular media!
