3 Common Reasons Why Your Item Upgrader Isn't Working And The Best Ways To Fix It

World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all its upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader you choose and the type of upgrade you choose to make. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be modified to upgrade an item.

The level of an item is a commonly used measurement of power and can be seen on all tooltips of items. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at an lower level). Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment players can look at the levels of the item. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it's able to deal. The level of an item can be used to compare items when looking at the inventory of a seller.

On PC, you are able to view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are many theories about how the item level is determined. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated by formulas that determine the value of an item's stats really are. It considers that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in sockets boost the value of the item. item upgrade could result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is usually close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

This isn't the only factor that influences the level of an item. The location of where the item dropped can also alter its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game uses a variety of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the best." The stat mods on an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's skill.

Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded one time however, items that has rare tiers can be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all shapes and sizes. Affixes can provide the item additional damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding a special name to the item.

At present, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with the arrows that circle. This will cost a certain amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.

Players can upgrade an item to a specific stat, or reroll the affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the specified range, unless it is an item that is unique or an item that is a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to increase. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison wouldn't show all possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more useful in the early game as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability, which increases with each level of the item and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) for a further +40 luck or to boost the luck of the item to 140.

Moreover, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shop or created using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..

The luck of an item can influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has an overall success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
