"The FP-45 Liberator"

The Liberator was a single-shot pistol parachuted in by allied forces to resistance groups on the ground.
The “FP” in the name stands for “Flare Projector” or “Flare Pistol,” which was an intention misnomer in attempt to hide the truth from enemy spies.

Its design was small (about 15 cm), in order to be easily hidden. However, despite this, it would’ve been somewhat dangerous to use — it would have taken at least 10 seconds to load, and wasn’t entirely accurate. This meant that the resistance fighter likely would’ve had only one attempt to use it.
However, Liberators were useful nonetheless. Being able to shoot it once and then discard the gun prevented people from being caught with the weapon, thus maintaining their innocence.
