Gamesgiving
Come celebrate Gamesgiving, a cornucopia of games curated by your closest friends and colleagues. When it comes time to race, instead of pulling a game, you pull a fellow competitor! And in the spirit of Gamesgiving they will graciously provide a game for you to race with your opponent. If you want, they will provide up to 3 games for a best of 3, but no more. It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Format
- Once a matchup is decided on the challonge, the Giver will be pulled and pinged.
- This will be done on a special set Gamesgiving day (April 30th) when the initial bracket is set up for all initial matchups
- You have 48 hours to respond and provide game(s) for the racers depending on whether they want to do single or Bo3
- If you do not respond, a game will be given according to your chosen backup solution on the contact form
- If you know you won't be around for awhile and are concerned about getting pulled you can give one of the mods a game early in your absence, we'd prefer you were around to be part of the conversation though
- The players don't have the ability to redraw with the exception of physical / hardware limitations. We graciously accept our gifts around here.
- The giver can regive for any reason (e.g. blindness, player reaction, etc.) but are encouraged to give games that are at least somewhat enjoyable. With great power comes great responsibility.
- It is the player's choice what goal to race, but the giver has to have a suggestion in mind.
- You can't give a game for your own match (we would just redraw)
- Everyone will get randomly pulled once with no repeats.
- After this, givers will be randomly pulled from the full list without taking into account previous pulls.
- You never lose the ability to give games, eliminated players remain in the pool to be chosen.
- Even though the games might be known a bit early, they can't be played until the race
- Races will be done on SRL
Game Rules
- Games must have a reasonable goal under 2 hours, after that point the players can choose to cut it off and declare the goal something else.
- If players agree with the giver and each other on a longer goal they may do it, but that is the players' choice
- Must not be obscene or offensive
- Must be free to the players (keys / gifts allowed)
- Must be reasonable to run, and if not have instructions provided.
- Pastebins will not be required and mods will not keep track of them. Feel free to give whatever info you want to the racers directly.
- No repeat games, but if you have to you can give one someone else has
