What does 'lesbihet' mean?
Lesbihet, also called straight lesbian or straightbian, refers to an individual who identifies as both lesbian (queer attraction to women) & straight (non-queer attraction to women). This term can also mean someone who is a lesbian (queer attraction to women) & straight (non-queer attraction to men).
Why would someone ID as 'lesbihet'?
Someone might ID as lesbihet because they are. . .
- genderfluid & experience their attraction to women as straight when they are a masculine gender & queer when they are a feminine gender
- use the SAM (split attraction model), i.e., are lesbiromantic heterosexual, heteroromantic lesbian, or are some combination of straight & lesbian with inclusion of tertiary attraction
- someone who is abrosexual & switches between lesbian & straight attraction
- an mspec individual who reclaims both terms as they experience both attractions
- a multigender individual, like a
girlboy / boygirl
who feels their attraction is both lesbian & straight - a trans person who reclaims both terms
- any other individuals who is both straight & a lesbian
