PERSONALITY

Virgil's upbeat charm spreads like sweet mist through the air around him; thick, enticing, and cloying only for those with an especially keen sense of smell. Beneath the bright, untarnished joy he exudes around him lies a calculating mind that is never at rest from scheming towards his goals. Virgil's undeterred passion comes from a persistent will to survive; Virgil tends to keep this ambitious nature concealed, parading himself as a lighthearted and easygoing support until it's the perfect moment to strike.

BACKGROUND TL;DR

Shunned from a young age due to being an 'abomination', Virgil learned very early in his life that despite being born into pedigree it's every man for himself in order to survive. The Beaumont is a direct relative of the Malfoy family with generations of descendants' blood being kept pure and untainted, and succession of the family's patriarch seat is constantly a struggle of power and contest of reputation.

Despite his reluctance to partake in his family's tradition, Virgil recognizes early that his powers alone weren't enough to make it out of the lions' den. He was not exceptionally bright or powerful, he is well-liked, but members of his extended family have already caught wind of him being unlike others and prevented their children to get too close. Finding none within his kin to shelter him, Virgil then steels a determination to escape this fate, and just when he mustered the courage to abandon all, a call beckons from another noble family: the Blacks.

Words have it that a son of theirs is becoming of age and a marriage between the two families would strengthen their joint power. The Beaumonts have always treated him as female despite years of vehement objections and deemed that producing an heir to a Black son would finally be a good use of him and a contribution to their status. Having close to no other options, Virgil agreed to meet this son of theirs. Surprisingly, this son, too, held secrets his family concealed from the Beaumonts and they both soon learned that they were both outcasts treated as pawns in their respective families' sick political ploy.

Finding common ground in their fate, both youths recognized that they would have better chances surviving their destiny as a duo rather than on their own. Thus in secrecy formed a collusion between the two young men, determined to rewrite the history mapped out for them.
