Juri part timer bond episode 2

Momotalk

J: Sensei
J: Sensei....
S: Everything alright Juri?
J: I couldn't sleep a wink.
J: The competition's finally here...
J: I'm really nervous...
J: What happens if I make a mistake?
S: Let's not worry about results just yet./Even if you mess up, there's no need to beat yourself up over it.
J: Okay... I'll do my best.
J: But, when the time comes...
J: Could I... hold your hand for comfort?
Tournament Committee Member: We thank you for your patience! And more importantly, the [Best Waitress of the Month] contest for this month shall start now!
Tournament Committee Member: We thank you all for your participation. For this tournament-
J: ...
J: W-W-W-W- WHAT ON EARTH SHOULD I DO, SENSEI!?
S: First, calm down and take a deep breath.
J: But...! This is the first time I've seen such a huge crowd...
J: And I still don't know the selection criteria yet...
J: If it involves cooking, I'm doomed!
Tournament Committee Member: Now then everyone, when one serves customers at a cafe, what do you think is THE most important aspect to consider when doing so!?
Tournament Committee Member: Indeed, the foundation of all things related to service...
Tournament Committee Member: IS MUSCLE STRENGTH!
J: M-muscle strength?
S: heh?/Well this is an interesting turn of events.
Tournament Committee Member: Indeed, the worklife at a cafe is the truest and tried test of physical labour.
Tournament Committee Member: Carrying heaps of jugs and plates...
Tournament Committee Member: Not to mention having to subdue beast-like complainers!
J: But it's not right to use violence against customers though-!?
S: I know right!?
Tournament Committee Member: My point is, running a cafe requires strength!
Tournament Committee Member: As such, this month's contest will be tried via [Physical Strength]!
Tournament Committee Member: The challenge is simple! You are to take these glasses of coffee...
Tournament Committee Member: Hold 6 in each hand for a total of 12...
Tournament Committee Member: And bring them to their designated tables!
S: Have we gone to the wrong tournament!?
Waitress A: W-we have to bring ALL 12 of those large glasses!?
Waitress B: No way. Even 6 is too much... thinking about it, why a test of strength?
Waitress A: I heard that it was a famous tournament, but what's going on?
J: ...
J: If this is how it's going to be, then I just might be able to do it.
S: R-really?
J: Yes, it looks a bit heavy, but...
J: Compared to the amount of potatoes the School Lunch Club has to carry, it shouldn't be a problem!
J: In that case, here I go, Sensei!
Tournament Committee Member: It looks like all of the participants are fighting for their lives! Is there anyone here worthy of being Waitress of the Month!?
Tournament Committee Member: Oh!? It seems Ushimaki Juri has hoisted up the glasses with ease!
J: And, this one goes to this table...
J: And with a bit of creativity in placing them...!
J: Whew!
Tournament Committee Member: H-how utterly splendid! She's not just delivering the food, she's ensuring they're presentable too!
Tournament Committee Member: This is the epitome of cafe service! A devoted spirit that scrutinizes even the tiniest of details!
Tournament Committee Member: Now then, for the next event!
Tournament Committee Member: It is common for any worker in the food industry to face the terror of [Peak times].
Tournament Committee Member: I'm sure anyone can relate to being swarmed with orders as you rush to deliver your foods.
Tournament Committee Member: In these cases, quick and precise decision making is integral!
Tournament Committee Member: As such, the second event will be a [Flag raising game] that focuses on testing memory and agility!
S: It's not completely out of the blue this time.../But is this really okay?
J: A flag raising game...
J: Sensei, I'll try my best at this too.
J: I can't say I'm too confident, but...
J: The cafeteria has up to 4000 orders in a single day, so I might just be able to do it!
Game Machine: Red please.
J: On it!
Game Machine: No white please.
J: Of course!
Game Machine: No red, then white.
J: Here's both!
Game Machine: No red, white, no white, red, white, white, no white and red.
J: Um... red up and white down!
Waitress A: I-incredible... she didn't miss a single beat.
Waitress B: I can only shudder to think of what constitutes an average workday for her...
Tournament Committee Member: MARVELOUS! Ushimaki Juri, has scored full points!
Tournament Committee Member: The last event relates to [Cleaning]. In any restaurant, a hygienic environment is absolutely vital!
Tournament Committee Member: Just for this occasion, we have a special cleaning robot designed by Millennium!
J: A Millennium cleaning robot? What's it supposed to do?
J: It looks interesting.

(I hope nothing bad happens...)

Tournament Committee Member: Now everyone, please proceed to the warehouse over here!
Cleaning Robot: Commencing purification.
Cleaning Robot: Sweeping, inhaling, incineration, elimination and disinfection.
Cleaning Robot: No stains shall be left alive.
J: I-it certainly sounds intimidating.
J: But if it's just this much, it's quite a normal amount for the School Lunch Club.
J: Here I go!
Cleaning Robot: Impossible.
Cleaning Robot: How my parameters were surpassed by mere flesh and blood, I cannot calculate why.
Cleaning Robot: My reason to exist has been denied. Commencing self destruct sequence. 10, 9, 8...
J: You can't!
Cleaning Robot: Why stop me? What is the meaning of this kindness?
J: You'll dirty the warehouse if you blow up inside of it!
Cleaning Robot: ...
Cleaning Robot: Reasoning accepted. Self destruct sequence terminated.
Tournament Committee Member: We apologise for the wait! We shall now announce the [Waitress of the month] of this competition!
Tournament Committee Member: And the best waitress of this month is...!
Tournament Committee Member: None other than Ushimaki Juri!!!
S: Well done Juri! You did it!
J: We did it Sensei! I can't believe it...! I couldn't have done it without you!
J: It's a bit late to mention this...
J: But weren't some of those activities completely irrelevant to being a waitress?
J: Is it really something to be proud of?

(Afterwards, with the trophy and souvenirs in hand, we walked home.)
(It seemed to be a famous tournament, but...)
(I still haven't fully figured it out, even now.)
