10 Fridge Freezer Samsung-Friendly Habits To Be Healthy

Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings

Samsung's Family Hub refrigerator is the capacity of a 389-litre fridge with a 225 litre freezer. It's a large American model with a quality temperature control system as well as many smart features.

It's customizable thanks to removable panels and you can create one that is perfectly matched to your collection of tie dye Crocs and matte black Rick Owens clothing.

All-Round Cooling

Separate cooling circuits in fridges with All Round Cooing help keep your food fresher. Conventional fridges have a single evaporator that cools both the freezer and refrigerator compartment. This usually means that the low humidity air from your freezer is circulated into your fridge and it could cause your foods to dry out. This can cause them to taste bland and unpleasant.

Each shelf is equipped with multiple vents for circulation of cool air. This ensures a constant temperature even when you shut and open the fridge door.

Optimal Fresh Zone keeps meats and fish fresher for twice as long as conventional fridges, without freezing them. This feature is a game-changer for anyone who enjoys cooking but doesn't like the hassle of thawing frozen meats or fish.

All Round Cooling uses an aluminum cooling plate at the back of the fridge to retain the cold air and prevent it from escaping when you open the fridge door. It also reduces your need for power defrosting saving you time and money.

The ice dispenser found on Samsung fridges is one of the finest we've tested. Its patent-pending Twist Ice Maker dispenses large cubes with just a twist, and it can be stored in the drawer below when not in use. This frees up more space on the shelves and makes it easier to find your favourite drinks and snacks.

You can select which way your fridge and freezer open by using reversible Doors. This lets you easily integrate your fridge in the kitchen layout and keep your fridge clean and tidy.

Samsung's Family Hub is the central control for your SmartThings-connected home. It uses a large touchscreen mounted on your refrigerator. It can show you a live feed of your smart doorbell. It also allows you to order groceries through an automated inventory, or suggest recipes based on what's available in the shelves.

Samsung refrigerators have flex drawers at the bottom that are an intelligent storage solution. They make it easy to store taller items such as pizza trays, and cans of drinks. They can be turned over when not in use and folded flat to make space. This is an excellent feature for those who are passionate about cooking and baking, but have limited refrigerator storage space.

FlexZone

The Samsung FlexZone side by side fridge freezer is unique in its 3-zone system that allows you to add an extra refrigerator compartment or freezer drawer. This flexibility lets you modify your fridge freezer to best fit your needs and storage requirements. It also makes it simple to upgrade to a bigger or smaller fridge with the addition of an additional FlexZone module.

The stylish design of the fridge will fit in with any kitchen decor. Its stainless-steel finish is durable and elegant. It also comes with anti-fingerprint coating to keep the exterior of the appliance looking brand new. The refrigerator also has an external water and ice dispenser to make it even more practical.

It's a good-looking fridge with a bottom-right FlexZone compartment that can be converted from freezer to refrigerator. This allows you to store things like bags of frozen meat, frozen vegetables or fish in the freezer. It performed well in our tests too however, the absence of a voice control feature and SmartThings integration on the 21.5-inch touchscreen felt like an unrealized opportunity.

The remainder of the fridge is full of room to store food items, including two crisper trays as well as an upper FlexZone drawer that can be made to fit your needs. The latter lets you select from five different settings for the fridge's freezer drawer depending on your preferences. These include the freeze setting that is compatible with the freezer settings and a soft freeze setting for wine or deli tray, a meat or fish setting, and an alcohol setting for snacks, drinks and frequently accessed items.

samsung fridges by side refrigerator is ideal for families that want to have a refrigerator and a freezer in one unit. It's not as spacious than top-of-the-line French door models, but it offers a lot of useful features and is a great alternative for those with small kitchens.

The Samsung Fridge Freezer is also a very energy-efficient fridge, thanks to its digital inverter technology. This technology regulates temperatures in the fridge to ensure it doesn't fluctuate too much and also keeps food fresher for longer. Its energy efficiency has earned it an ENERGY STAR certification.

SmartThings

SmartThings isn't as popular a platform that Alexa and Google Assistant are however it does offer many smart devices you can add. Samsung's TVs, phones tablets and fridges all include SmartThings. It may be enough for some particularly if they own several Samsung products.

The SmartThings app is well-rounded and refined, with an "if x is greater than y then y" automation section that is very effective. It is possible to set up things as alarms that go off when water sensors detect a flood, or turn on the light when your phone determines you're at home. It can also control your refrigerator by connecting it to a smart outlet, though we've had mixed results with this.

You'll require a hub to use SmartThings, and it's not cheap. Samsung makes a few different models, including the SmartThings Station, which you can attach to your router and is used as a nightlight. There's also a cheaper SmartThings Hub Dongle that supports Z-Wave and Zigbee and Thread with support in the near future.

Once you have your smart fridge with a hub, smartphone and smart fridge it's a breeze to use. SmartThings allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere. Notifications are sent to your smartphone when it is closed or opened. You can create schedules, alter the temperature and set reminders.

SmartThings was a founding member in the Home Connectivity Alliance. This alliance is working towards making the most important home appliances from various manufacturers compatible. That could mean you can control your Samsung washer and dryer, Electrolux oven and LG television through the same app in the near future.

SmartThings is not as popular as Alexa or Google Assistant but it does have some big names on its list, such as Arlo Nest, Belkin, and Lifx. It's compatible with the Matter protocol, which allows accessories to be linked regardless of brand. For most people however, combining Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls is most likely the best option.

Family Hub

This refrigerator freezer is the most modern you can get. It comes with a 21-inch touchscreen built into the door and a number of intelligent features. You can access entertainment apps, make notes for family members (think a huge digital version of a notepad stuck to the fridge) and check for weather updates and more, all thanks Samsung's own voice activation assistant, Bixby.

The touchscreen also lets you to organize your food and recipes, with the option to add ingredients directly from an app for recipes and view what's in your fridge using internal cameras. You can make grocery lists on the go and track foods to track their expiration dates. You can even use a specific recipe app that will provide instructions while you cook.

Samsung has spent an entire year refining the Family Hub fridges based on feedback from customers. One of the major changes is that you can now set different profiles for each member of your household so they can customize the information and apps they have access to. It's not as good as having Alexa integration built into your refrigerator but it's an improvement on last year's model.

In addition to its entertainment and grocery management capabilities, Family Hub also acts as a controller for Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can onboard Matter-compatible devices like lights, plugs and locks and can be used with the touchscreen to control them as well.

Samsung's fridge has been around for a few years now and, while it still provides a decent amount of features, the touchscreens aren't exactly an essential feature for the majority of people. These are more of a fun and somewhat frivolous addition than anything else.

This could be changed with the release of more software updates, but at present, these models are best for those who want to have the most complete connected refrigerator that is possible. You can save money by buying a model without the Family Hub if you're not one of these people. It could be worth it in the event that you own a lot of smart home appliances that require control by the same device, or if you simply love the idea of a fridge with a giant touchscreen.
