</p>
<p>

</p>
<p>

</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>

Wait... It uses the iDRAC? The Dell proprietary remote access controller?

Thats a bit telling, but why have it included if its explicitly advised to disable? Ive managed many ESX hosts that have these, and they can be useful for confirming hardware failures, and alerting issues, but the drac is usually optional or can be replaced. So why?

Are these machines actually manufactured by dell?

<br/>
Yep. They're bog-standard Dell boxes (mostly Poweredge) at heart; you can even find the specific model numbers if you look through Dominion's docs. If you look at the installation manual, you can also see references to PERC controllers.
</div>
<br/>
It might be worth mentioning that this isn't at all unusual. What you think might be a bespoke machine is very likely just a combination of very common off the shelf parts preconfigured for a specific purpose and wrapped up in a package with some big branding on it.
