hello, my name is dirk. i also go by d casually if you fuck with that. he/him and masculine referrals only.
this should be a given, but i'm fairly mentally ill. i'm the host of a diagnosed did system and an introject of him. i don't owe you my trauma history, i’m only mentioning this because people tend to be weird about systems, and i’d rather be upfront.
i'm an adhdtistic borderline with fearful-avoidant traits. my mental health can be haywire, but it's not your job to take care of me if i'm acting off. i tend to handle a lot of my shit on my own.
i'm fairly low-maintenance, but i do disappear for a while without warning. don't take this personally, it's usually because of emotional dysregulation, and i do come back eventually. just need some time, man.
i can be excruciatingly verbose, though it's rarely on purpose. i might seem like an asshole due to my godawful tone regulation, but i'm genuinely just socially inept. if i'm ever seriously being a dickbag, call me out on it. i'd want to apologize.
i reclaim slurs, frequently joke about killing myself, and use potentially problematic humor. it depends on your tolerance levels, but i'm usually pretty tame.
i'm in a committed relationship with my boyfriend karkat, who is also my favorite person. my partner system is always my number one priority, and i prefer that to be respected no matter what.
i don't believe in forming connections based off of source material alone. my experience with being an introject isn't something i chose, and therefore i don't want you making assumptions about me from the get-go as a result. i'm not a fictional character and don't want to be treated as one.
adding to the above, i also don't believe in doubles. if you do, check your priorities and go outside. introjects aren't their source, and i'm not mine. if you feel uncomfortable with me because of my source material, that's fine. just block me and move on.
beneath all of the convoluted bullshit, you might find that i'm decent company. i genuinely like making other people's lives a little easier when i can, and though i'm a little stiff at first, i usually chill out with time.
