What Are the Different Types of Codes and How Do They Work?

Transponder Codes

The first digit is given an 8 and each subsequent number increases in value by one, until the seventh digit is nine, which then becomes two. Then, the entire VIN will be converted back to its original format by multiplying each weight by 11. If the result is equal to the check digit then the VIN is valid.

Data Transfer
