Huntlow is the epitome of M/F ship mediocrity that hampers the development of everyone involved, but is treated by the fandom as revolutionary, and them both being mspec doesn't change change that.

A list of reasons for this INCLUDES (but is not limited to):

  • Hardly any time to breathe between them becoming friends and Hunter's romantic feelings being implied to begin. From the very first episode, with Hunter blushing at Willow near the end, he hardly got to know her, even as a friend, before romantic feelings were implied. There was no room to try to interpret the two as friends before their romantic subplot got moving.
  • The person who should have helped Willow with her breakdown was 100% Gus and you all know it. She was shown helping him as a child when he panicked, and it would've been a great full circle moment. Plus, it would've given him SOMETHING to do in the finale. But no, it was Hunter, just so that there could be ham-fisted implication in there that Willow might return Hunter's probable-feelings.
  • This also makes it so that Gus is the only one of the Hexsquad that doesn't end up in a romantic relationship. The way that Huntlow is used to sideline Gus in multiple ways is sooo.... Do I even have to say the word for you all to pick up what I'm putting down?? (It starts with a 'white' and ends with a 'favoritism'.) (Or 'lightskinned', if you're of the opinion that Willow is half-Asian because her dads could've used magic to conceive her.)

I said to my friends the same day that Hunter semi-debuted in Hunting Palismen that I knew that, if he ever got a love interest (ESPECIALLY a female love interest), the fandom would become INSUFFERABLE, and I was extremely correct. Cuz I just know that half of you did NOT give a fuck about Willow before she became Hunter's love interest, and you guys literally act like you're oppressed for shipping a M/F ship. Every time I've seen a queerphobe of some sort being a fan of The Owl House, it's always been either a Huntlow shipper, or that one-off time it was a Lunter shipper.

Finally, as the final part of my PSA: stop saying it's canon. It's coded / heavily implied, but it's not canon. And I only harp on this point because you and I both know that if Huntlow was a M/M or F/F ship, people would be acting like you were pushing an agenda if you claimed it was canon, because nothing was made explicit. If NOTHING else, you guys should stop saying it's canon, and say others should do the same, for the humor in it. This is one of the VERY RARE cases where the F/F ship is explicit, but the M/F ship is only implied, come on guys.

By the way, all of this was written by a bisexual, so you don't get to say this was written by a biphobe. Anyways Willumity sweep
