Galeotto du il libro e chi lo scrisse
With the chant complete and blood spilled, the summoning circle erupts in light and a cloud of dust is kicked up from the sudden discharge of a large quantity of magical energy as the grail responds to the ritual. The young master responsible for enacting the summoning winces at the brightness, bracing himself and coughing. As the dust starts to clear to reveal the imposing figure of a tall and well-muscled woman, he can't hold back his grin. There was no way he could lose! Not with Berserker and a capable attendant to direct them. All he'd have to do is sit back and wait to make his wish.
"I ask of you, are you my master?"
He opens his mouth to respond The only answer that comes is a blood-curdling scream as his mind is overtaken by pain. The would-be Master falls to his knees in shock and anguish, grabbing at his right arm — or rather what's left as everything past the forearm has been cleanly removed, leaving blood to pool out from the wound freely. His enthusiasm as the successful summoning melts away and leaves only anger in its wake. Berserker had already betrayed him. The audacity! It wasn't entirely unexpected with such an unruly class, but it was still far from welcome. Fortunately, his attendant would activate the Mystic Code he provided them any second now and bring the Servant back under control.
However, when the dust fully dissipates he finds that Berserker seemingly hasn't moved an inch and that his attendant is holding an arm. The limb is tossed away while he looks on incredulously.
"That should be me, right?"
The words come out of Giulietta's mouth — well, not her mouth, but the mouth of the body she was currently puppeting — with the tone of a child excitedly guessing at the next part of a story. She grins and waves at the Servant, a lone crest glowing on the back of her hand. The Magus's emotions flip between anger and confusion as he tries to process the situation and whether the reality of it is preferable to his previous assumption. Rather than his servant having betrayed him, it was the attendant who he'd hired to compete in the war on his behalf.
"Y-You! What is the meaning of this!?"
Giulietta looks at him confused. It all seemed rather obvious to her. Nevertheless, she clasps her hands together and looks on dreamily while spinning on her foot.
"You see, I have this most wonderful wish! I've searched long and hard to find my other half — to rightfully bind our souls as fate demands. I've met so many lovely friends, but none were the one for which my heart years... But that grail will surely bring me to my love! I simply couldn't go on knowing that I didn't do everything I could to bring us together. What am I to say when my love asks what took so long? That I was afraid to fight for us? The shame would be too unbearable!"
"Mirum votum! Such passion! Such conviction!"
Berserker howls in laughter at Giulietta's dramatic declaration of her intentions as the Magus only grows more confused. everything she was saying sounded like utter nonsense and more importantly, it certainly didn't sound like anything that would come from the mouth of his hired hand. Something was very wrong. In fact, something had felt off for a while, but she'd played a just convincing enough role and he'd been all too willing to dismiss any oddities.
"I just knew you would understand. Oh, I can feel that we were meant to be together! What a tragedy it would be if—"
Her ceaseless babbling is interrupted by a sudden blast of energy aimed directly at her. A hole is blown through the body's stomach, one large enough to see through to the other side. An excruciating moment of silence stretches into an eternity as she simply stares at her attacker, the Magus's confident grin shifting into further frustration. He panics and aims his remaining arm as he starts to chant when only to be cut off, his body seeming to freeze in place while he's only able to stare into Giulietta's intensely glowing crimson eyes.
"That was very rude. Don't you see we were having a moment!?"
He's unable to respond as his vision is filled with roses. When the petals fall away, all he can see is darkness. He finds that he's once again able to move, but his efforts prove fruitless due to apparently being bound by something. Any further attempts to figure out where he is and what's happening are put to an when he feels something pierce his side and exit out the other. His mind is overwhelmed with pain as this process repeats dozens of times across the entire surface area of his body while he's unable to even vocalize his pain. His tongue is missing. When he thinks it's finally over, it becomes so much worse: the felling flesh and being torn away takes over as he's seemingly eaten alive. Despite being ripped apart over and over, he still feels it all. Every part torn away futilely cries to be made whole again.
In reality, the Magus has gone completely catatonic, his body only twitching in response to the endless assault of invisible stimuli. When the glow fades from Giulietta's eyes and she turns away, his body simply slumps over.
"Where were we? Ah, I am Giulietta di Rosa and I would be honored if you would lend me your strength so that I may be united with my one and only."
Amusement colors Berserker's features — both from the oddness of her summoning and the fact that her prospective Master seemed to be asking for her help. If nothing else, she was certainly entertaining. Berserker crosses her arms as she mulls the situation over. With only a single seal, disposing of her in favor of finding of finding another Master was certainly an option.
"As long as you will not keep me from the glory of honorable battle, I shall serve you faithfully."
"Splendid! We simply must do something to commemorate our union!"
Giulietta finds herself spinning again when she suddenly stops and brings her hands to her cheeks as if she'd had some kind of epiphany.
"But first I'll need to finish putting myself back together. This body simply won't do if we're to get to know each other!"
