Why You Should A Trucking Job

  1. You should at least try to finish high school or your GED (even though not usually required). Almost all employers like their new hires to show some level of competence in the education field, and trucking companies are no exception. A high school diploma or even a GED will show your future employer that you are able to finish at least a basic education. The last thing you want your supervisor to think is that you are not competent. This isn't to say that not finishing school makes you a less intelligent person, but you do not want to fall into that stereotype if at all possible.

JD Truck Training Centre If you are wondering if you can get a CDL without attending a driving school, the answer would be probably not. There might be situations where an outfit needs someone right now and if you have taken your written test than they could train you, get you tested and put on the road. Not the easiest thing to do, but it can be done.

Mr licence will no doubt teach you about some of their experiences during the class. Until you get out on the road you won't really know the reality of what they are talking about. Two weeks in a school with several other trainees will just barely give you enough experience to become pretty familiar with truck driving. You'll be able to pass the driving exam and feel pretty confident and be proud of yourselves. The company that recruits you will send you out with a trainer for several weeks for you to get a feel for how to excel and drive safely while learning the ropes. It's nice to learn from someone who has some experience.

For me making money was the bottom line and I was ready to sacrifice anything. Big money in big trucks sounded good and I wasn't gonna stop until I got on the road to change my life.

I remember when the Truck driving school was teaching me how to meet all the CDL requirements. They taught me how to back up, shift and do lane changes and everything. But the real deal of getting loaded, to driving through the mountains is another thing.

Because really, why should the state care if you can do a blindside parallel park? It's not like you're going to be using this maneuver to jockey into a parking space on the public roadways.

I've been through the Colombia River Gorge, traveling both sides, the Oregon and Washington State sides, many times. Crossing the Hoover Dam, I have an appreciation anytime I've watched, on the History Channel, a documentary about the construction of the Hoover Dam. I've had the opportunity to be inside The Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, delivering replacement parts for the overhead crane that lifts the rockets onto the Space Shuttle. I've taken military equipment to and from the Mohave Desert in California, for military training exercises in the desert. I've seen first hand how majestic, diverse and beautiful this great land of ours is.
