. The Cast .
Marcel Schuurs
Marcel is a 19 year old man who grew up in the church. He is a beloved member of his community, with his dad being the local priest. His family has very traditional values. Marcel is seen as a role model in the community, which scares him. Because despite how devoted he may seem, he does not believe in God, no matter how hard he tries to convince himself.
Remco Spoler
Remco is a 19 year old man who is considered an outcast in his society. He goes to church but everyone there judges him, with a few making threats to his face. Nobody views him as a true follower of God, despite going to church just as often as every other member. Many think that he goes to church just to mock God. Ironically, Remco is religious. Remco seemed like an ordinary boy until he left the church for a few years, coming back to how he appears now. People would describe him looking "punk" and "radical", some even saying "violent".
. The Story .
Overtime, Marcel finds it harder to hide the fact that he's not religious, feeling cursed in a way. This is around the same time Remco comes back to the church. Remco observes Marcel for a while, deducting that he does not believe in God. He eventually confronts Marcel about this. Marcel is extremely scared, not just because of the rumors about Remco but also because he does not want to be outed as a nonbeliever. Despite Remco being religious himself, he gains respect for Marcel after it being confessed about the truth behind his faith. He tells Marcel that he should be able to be himself, and it's not a curse that he doesn't follow God. Remco tells him about The Seers, a group of outcasts. Marcel has only heard nasty whispers about The Seers, thinking it was just a tale. Remco offers to take Marcel to meet them. At first, Marcel denies him and runs away, but he eventually agrees after the gnawing feeling of being different is too overbearing to deny it anymore.
When Marcel meets the group, he's first scared. Despite being a nonbeliever, he has very traditional values just like his religious family. Overtime, though, he begins to learn the truth about how corrupt and evil the society he lives in really is, and that he was just blind to it because he did not know of another life. Marcel starts to feel truly accepted- a feeling he never had before. Marcel joins The Seers, at first in secret, but Remco helps him unlearn his shame and find pride in his differences. Through all of this, Remco and Marcel become best friends.
Remco tells Marcel about his band, Aiding Soundings (AS). He tells him that he should take on the drums and join the band, since their drummer recently skipped town to hopefully find more outcasts that can become apart of The Seers. Marcel is reluctant at first, but due to his new gained confidence he accepts Remco's offer.
