Helloo~ My name is Arisa, I am a diagnosed OSDD system. This is a rentry made to explain the meaning of the term 'introject' or 'fictive' because people tend to mix it up with 'irls' or 'kins' or simply just roleplays. This is purely informative... I don't want to link this site to my socmed but I'm on instagram lol. If you've found this website, it was probably given from my friends. I've only shared the link with them. I don't use this for anything else tbh
What's an introject?
There isn't much to it really, an introject is an alter in a (DID/OSDD/UDD) system formed based off of a character or person. You can kind of say these alters are somewhat 'born' as that character/person...?
What's a "source?"
"Sources" are the character/person that the introject is formed off of.
Fictives and Factives
Fictives and Factives are subtypes of introjects. They are the same, but fictives are introjects formed based off of fictional characters, while factives are introjects formed based off of real people. Fictive = Introject, Introject ≠ Fictive.
Are introjects the same as kinnies/fictionkins/etc?
Introjects are not the same as kins, delusional attachments, fictionkins, or roleplayers. They are different. Try not to mix them up, and don't call yourself an introject/fictive/factive if you aren't one either.
Are introjects exactly the same as sources?
No. an introject will not act the exact same as their source, introjects are not their sources, rather, you can say we are our own versions of our sources in a way. While some introjects do identify with their sources and refer to their sources as themselves, it doesn't mean that they are going to be exactly like their source. They are their own version of themself. Some introjects see their sources as themself and associate with them, some don't, both are fine. It's not anyones business, really.
Source memories
Introjects may also experience something called "source memories", also known as "false memories" or "pseudo memories" find that more about that by clicking here.
Boundaries
Be respectful and respect any boundaries that they might have. They're no different from you
