While jackals are far from the first to spiritualize human submission and anthro dominance. The oldest oral traditions on earth feature lengthy odes to anthro cock, and some of the oldest visual art involved humans being speared or corralled like cattle. Its just that the ancient jackal empires were the ones who codified a writing system first, so scholars only studying written history get a big first impression.

As an aside, one of the big arguments against atheism during the enlightenment and the rejection of divine right was that it would lead to uppity humans. While there were a few ill fated insurrections, the overall arc of history has proven that not to be the case, as evidenced by my two dillegent human research assistants beneath the desk.

Human submission doesn't need to be nurtured by culture, its in their very nature.

Just imagine. Entire civilizations built around the worship and devotion to other species. Every male jackal would hold a harem of at least 10-20 humans, and every human over the age of 18, even if they're married, would be required to partake in one of these harems to some degree. Everything would be made to symbolize humanities submission to their superiors, even coronations, where every new leader is splayed out and fucked in front of a mixed crowd.

The spiritual history of human harems is also fascinating.

Anthro supremacists often claim that there are no human gods, or belief systems centered around human gods tend to fail, but they're only half right.

Ancient depiction of anthro divine figures often show them surrounded by human figures, but most modern viewers just view them as a faceless crowd of worshippers, meant to emphasize the central figures dominance.

True mythology buffs, however, know that each anthro God's harem was their own pantheon of semi-divine humans under their thrall. Each one had a name and tended to represent an aspect of their patron's authority. For instance, if there's an anthro harvest god, then one of the humans in their harem will be a god of pickling. The more advanced a society became, the larger their Gods' harem got.

Whether these humans were born divine or if they were uplifted by their anthro owners is a point of contention. Some hated the idea of granting humanity any divinity whatsoever, while others were hesitant to suggest human upward social mobility.

Of course, just like how stories of anthro gods vary from place to place, the stories of their human harem wildly shifted depending on who was telling the story, and unlike their owners, they rarely got written down, so now most of them are lost to history.

In recent years an increasing number of progressive movements has been raising concerns about unequal status of humans in society.

From the legal point of view all species of anthros are considered equal - it's one of the bases of the democratic society. This rule has been almost universally held since the Enlightenment and in different regions even before that. Humans however always have been an exception from these beliefs, from the dawn of the recorded history. Universal human enfranchisement has been accepted by the UN only 60 years ago.

Progressive movements note, that in many places humans are still de facto second-class citizens. As a proof they point out extremely low percentage of humans in the Government, in the management of the big companies, and in higher education. In vast majority of cases, the employer almost always will choose anthro over human, even if they have the same qualifications (this percentage has been lower if human had higher qualifications than anthro, but still over half wouldn't choose them).
Even greater concern raised by human-advocacy groups is sexual violence and abuse of power by the police in relation to humans. Estimations claim, that vast majority of humans older than 18yo had been in their life sexually harassed, assaulted, or even raped by the anthros. The exact numbers are almost impossible to asses, as the justice system is very lenient towards such cases. The fact that many police officers abuse power to sexually harass humans doesn't help in this either.
Despite all of it, however, humans themselves rarely oppose such acts towards them, or take it to the court. The fact that humans are the minority among the members of the progressive movements and human-advocacy groups may show, that not all humans consider their unequal status a pressing issue.

Throughout the history humans adapted to the society in an unique way. They could be found in all social strata, from the anthro-dominated nobility, down to the peasantry and enslaved people (the last two were composed in majority of humans). The common thing shared by the vast majority of them in all of the social classes was the fact, that they excelled in the subservient roles. Whether slave working at the brothel, an accountant of the rich merchant, or the lower noble, the human was almost always considered as the most loyal, eager, and grateful subject; the one who even took pride in one's service.
Many sociologues believe, that these qualities persist in human nature, and even now are part of human identity. As many research papers show, the belief among humans that anthros are in some or all aspects better than them is still strong. While there are not many humans in, for example, Government, almost every politician has at least one human advisor or assistant. Many stereotypes about humans are the positive ones, despite the efforts of 19th and 20th century specieists and extreme supremacionists (see Wolfson, 2014).
It is still an open question if we should strive as society to absolute equality of humans and anthros, but in the debate about that we should consider not only voices of the advocacy groups, but also (or perhaps in the first place) the voices of humans who support current status quo.
