National Flag Day is celebrated in many countries but I have chosen the one celebrated here:
in Argentina.
When is it celebrated?
National flag Day is celebrated in Argentina on 20th June annually and is part of their tradition.
The 20th of June is not just a random date as you might expect, but do you know its significance? It is significant as it is the anniversary of the death of Manuel Belgrano which is part of the Argentinian National flag Day (Spanish Día Nacional de la Bandera Argentina)
Who is Manuel Belgrano?
Belgrano was the designer of the current Argentinian flag and he was also an economist, lawyer, politician and journalist.
Design
The Argentinian National flag consists of three horizontal stripes: two light blue, one at the top and one at the bottom, and also a white one in the middle. It also includes the yellow sun of May - Argentina's national emblem.
