Mikael Alaric Thorne was born in Bandung on April 6, 1997, the first child of Adrian Thorne and Livia Santoso. His father is an architecture professor at ITB who is known for his discipline, while his mother owns a small bookstore in the middle of the city. Since childhood, Mikael used to spend time in his mother's bookstore, either reading comics or drawing on paper.
But when Mikael was 13 years old, his mother's bookstore was hit by a huge fire. No one was hurt, but the building was destroyed along with irreplaceable memories and precious collections. Since then, Mikael has been silent. He harbored guilt but didn't know why, and began to build his own little world through his drawings.
Now, at the age of 28, Mikael works as an architect in Jakarta. Behind his calm and cool exterior, he is someone who loves the smell of morning coffee. He lives alone, but he's never really lonely. Because in every design he creates, there are traces of the past that never really go away.
