WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK
I'll make this cute later. Taking my time, also the info is not 100% accurate there's some changes I need to make.
Drabbles
Author!Mun and Journalist!Keegan
Just go up and ask… God, it’s not this damn hard, Mun thinks to himself. They scold the anxiety in the back of its head before taking a deep breath and making his way over to Keegan.
“Hey,” they start nervously. “Uh, I couldn’t help but… notice that you seem to be in the military? Some branch at least… well, I was wondering if I could ask you about it? Sorry, that sounds kinda weird but I’m looking for inspiration and-”
“Sure,” Keegan replies calmly as he gently cuts off Mun. It’s a stark contrast from Mun’s obviously nervous demeanor. He gestures across from him for the other boy to sit down.
A small smile plays on Keegan’s face… Odd, he thought. Normally the authors I meet aren’t this shy.
“So,” Keegan starts. His eyes are trained intently on Mun, “What did you wanna ask? Anything specific?”
Mun laughs quietly and shakes his head, “Ah… no. I just need some ideas. My boss wants me to get a really good story out there… and I enjoy learning about the military so I thought why not write something about that?”
Keegan chuckles and nods, “I see… well kid, you’re in luck. I happen to be in the marines. I’ll help you out.”
“Thank you,” it quickly responds. “You don’t know how much I needed this. I… should we exchange, um… numbers or something? So we can meet up… and like, discuss?”
Keegan smiles. Damn was this guy nervous… was Keegan really that intimidating?
“That’ll work,” the marine nods and pulls out his phone to slide it across the table.
Mun grabs the phone and types in their number before giving it back to Keegan, “I look forward to working with you, sir. Can I ask you some things now?”
Keegan smirks and leans back in the chair he’s sitting in, “No need for formalities… but go ahead, kid. Let’s see what you’ve got in store for me.”
Author!Mun and Journalist!Keegan scenario based on this Tweet
“Mun,” Keegan mutters. His grip around the other man’s waist tightens ever so slightly. “Stay.”
“I’ve gotta get to writing though,” they pout and turn around to face Keegan. “You know that.”
“Just five more minutes?” Keegan huffs. “Please?”
He isn’t even doing puppy dog eyes but Mun can feel himself crumble and want to give in.
The shorter of the two hesitates and sighs, “You’re going to be the death of me.”
Keegan grins, “Yeah? Is cuddling me so bad?”
“You know what I mean…” Mun grunts before he sighs. “Fine.”
It curls up against Keegan before adding on, “Five more minutes.”
Keegan rests his head on top of Mun’s and hums happily to himself, “See? That wasn’t so hard.”
The marine’s morning voice sends a shiver down Mun’s spine. Damn this man and his ability to be effortlessly captivating.
Keegan Realizing His Feelings for Mun
Mun was in the medical bay healing from the gunshot wound to his shoulder. They didn’t want to see anyone… except for Keegan.
And surprisingly… he found himself visiting the younger man. When he entered he sat down at the edge of the bed Mun was in.
“Hey,” Keegan said gruffly. “How you holding up?”
“I’m okay,” Mun replies with a small smile. They didn’t want Keegan to worry.
Keegan didn’t reply immediately, his face fixed on Mun’s face. The slight plumpness of his cheeks… his bangs sticking to his forehead from the sweat… how they looked without their glasses. It was all too much and it had Mun glancing away from shyness.
“Why did you come see me?” He asks anxiously.
Keegan gives a subtle shake of his head, knock it off and answer them. “Wanted to see if you were okay. I feel like it’s my fault.”
“It’s not,” Mun assures with a chuckle. “You heard me in the helicopter. I’d do it all over again.”
Keegan chuckles, “You shouldn’t risk your life that easily for someone, kid.”
“Was worth it,” they shrug and readjust themself in the bed. Keegan is keenly aware of the movement and his eyes can’t help but wander over Mun’s expression again.
The hell is the issue? Keegan scolds himself. He’s not an emotionally driven man, but seeing Mun so… vulnerable and in need of care is driving the poor marine mad. The things Mun was saying was enough to make Keegan, strangely, want to hold the shorter guy.
“Why do you keep looking at me?” Mun asks. It’s an innocent question. “Is there something on my face?”
Keegan’s eyes widen ever so slightly. It’s a crack in his demeanor that Mun doesn’t pick up on.
“Sorry, no. You don’t have anything on your face,” the marine responds swiftly, looking away.
Mun just nods. Curse them and their ability to be so oblivious… if only he knew what was swirling around in Keegan’s mind.
Keegan Mulling Over His Feelings for Mun
Keegan was a man of logic. He didn’t wear his heart on his sleeve. So why do the marine’s words get stuck in his throat every time he wants to confess?
It should be easy to tell Mun exactly how he feels. I like you, man. No, that’s too informal. I have feelings for you, Mun. And that’s too formal.
He shifts in bed as he stares at the ceiling. It’s midnight and he can’t get to bed. Normally he’d ask Mun to come over to cuddle… as friends. Mun was slightly chunkier than Keegan. He hadn’t been in the Ghosts for long so they didn’t gain much muscle yet.
But Keegan didn’t care. It made Mun softer and he liked it.
Why is he thinking about that?
He groans and puts the pillow over his face. Keegan was irritated. The man despised being vulnerable. Open. But Mun? That stupid guy came around and made Keegan think about things he never considered before.
Keegan didn’t have many relationships. More so flings and crushes… but Mun made him feel different. The younger gent made the marine’s heart flutter. They made him laugh. That stupid boy made Keegan want to protect him forever.
And it’s driving Keegan up the walls. He wants to hear Mun’s laugh. Make the man smile. He wants everything domestic with them. And it makes him so angry at himself for being so soft.
Mun and Their Anxieties
“Do you think we’ll be together for a long time?” Mun asks Keegan as they’re curled up in bed together. Keegan is running his hands through the other boy’s hair.
“Yeah,” he admits. “I do.”
“Would you ever leave me for someone else?” Mun glances up at him.
Keegan pauses, staring down at Mun. They’re probably about to get upset.
His answer wouldn’t hurt Mun… but he knows this is the start of a spiral for the poor man.
“No, never,” Keegan shakes his head. “I’m with you. You know how hard it is for me to even get feelings.”
“Me too,” Mun says. “I just worry that maybe I’m not enough.”
Keegan chuckles. “You sure are a worrywart tonight, hm?”
Mun buries his face against Keegan’s neck and huffs. “I always am.”
“More so than usual, then.”
He pouts again, making the marine compelled to pat their head. “Yeah, more than normal.”
“Why would I leave you when you’re all I really want though?” Keegan asks.
Mun shrugs. “Maybe you’ll find someone better who gives you everything and more.”
He lightly taps Mun on the head with his hand. “Quit that nonsense.”
Mun whines, “But it’s true! You could find someone so much better and… I don’t know why you chose me.”
Their breath quickens. It’s a sign that he’s starting to get more nervous. Keegan tugs him closer and holds him like their lives depended on it.
“But I want you,” he assures Mun quietly.
“Why?” The shorter man asks. Their voice cracks slightly and it breaks Keegan’s heart.
“For one you saved my life practically,” the marine begins. He’s going to list off reasons and Mun knows it. “You can actually make me laugh and smile. Do you think I’ve ever laughed this much before? You break me down and sometimes I can’t stand it… in a good way.”
“But-”
“Shh,” Keegan tuts gently. “Do you know many nights I’ve spent awake thinking about how the hell you got me to be like this? I’m all… soft now. It’s cuz of you.”
“I’m sorry,” Mun interjects.
“No, it’s-” Keegan sighs. He’s gotta be more careful with his wording. “It’s not your fault. I’ve been told too many times by our team that I need to loosen up a little. Never thought I’d be able to do that though, and then you come along.”
“I really, really… have feelings for you,” Keegan huffs.
“As if we aren’t dating.”
Keegan lets out a breathy chuckle, “Shut it. You get what I’m trying to say, don’t you?”
They nod. “Yeah… I think so.”
“You’ve changed me, Mun. In ways that I never thought could happen. I can be myself around you… which I’m not used to. It’s strange.”
“You’ve changed me too,” Mun smiles up at Keegan. “I feel safe around you… I’ve not felt safe with anyone for a long while, you know.”
Keegan’s heart does a stupid flutter. “You do?”
Mun giggles, “I do.”
The marine’s heart swells with so much love for the other man. He’s not one for words… so he just hugs Mun closer, mumbling a gentle I love you against the top of his head.
Keemun Fluff About the Future
"Mun."
Keegan's voice snapped the other man out of his thoughts.
"Mhm?" Mun hums and slides back against Keegan's front.
The marine's hands gripped Mun slightly tighter as he pulled them closer. He rests his head on the shorter gent's shoulder, "What are you thinking about? You got all quiet on me."
Mun chuckles, "Sorry, I- I'm just thinking about, uh... our future."
Keegan tenses at that. His heart does a little flip. "Our future, huh?"
The younger man nods, "Yeah... What we're gonna do when we get outta here."
"What're you wanting?" Keegan asks. He nuzzles his nose against Mun's neck. It causes them to shiver.
"Owning a dog... Or a couple cats," he begins simply. "And living in an apartment together. We'll be domestic boyfriends for life."
"Love the sound of that," Keegan hums, kissing Mun's cheek. "As long as I'm with you, you can have whatever you want."
"You gonna spoil me?" He smirks and nuzzles his cheek against Keegan's.
"Maybe. Anything for my sweet boy, yeah?"
In A World Where Keegan Gets Jealous (Not Toxic)
"Mun," Keegan's deep voice breaks the silence in the helicopter.
The pilot couldn't hear the two which Mun was thankful for as they spoke up, "Yeah?"
"You know I love you, but what the hell was that?" The sergeant responds. He's trying not to show how upset he is with Mun.
"I... Hesh told me to," Mun says gently. "So I didn't wanna go against his word and get everyone killed."
"Hesh told you to," Keegan echos. His jaw clenches. "And you listen to him when he says to throw a grenade back at the enemy?"
"I... Well, he's my lieutenant. I don't wanna disobey him. You know that," they respond. He starts to mess with his fingers and Keegan knows he needs to be more careful.
"But I'm your sergeant," he finally huffs and folds his arms. His gaze is diverted from Mun as he continues. "And I'd prefer if you listen to me."
Mun knows Keegan isn't trying to control them. He wants what's best for his partner, to keep them safe... But he can't help feeling something's different.
"Are you mad?" Mun questions quietly.
"No," Keegan sighs. His face softens, "I just... Worry about you. I don't want you getting killed, and when has Hesh ever had a good idea?"
Mun giggles, and Keegan's heart melts. "See? Even you know he's got less than great ideas."
"But I look up to him," Mun sighs. "I want to make him proud."
That makes Keegan's fist clench. Why was he feeling like this?
"Do you look up to me, too?" The sergeant asks carefully... Almost with vulnerability.
"Of course I do!" Mun exclaims. "You're my boyfriend after all, I look up to you most."
Keegan smiles and wraps an arm around Mun. It feels more... Possessive, this time around. Mun notices it.
"Tight," the shorter man comments. It takes Keegan off guard. "Are you okay?"
"Well, I don't know. I have conflicted feelings," Keegan admits after a moment. He wants to be honest with Mun. "I'm glad you listen to people, especially your lieutenant... But I can't help getting this weird feeling. I don't like it."
"Does it make you angry?" Mun asks. Keegan shakes his head.
"No... Just that I want that kind of thing from you, too."
"Attention? Praise?"
Keegan nods slowly. "I want you to feel like that about me too. Not just with Hesh."
"I feel that and more for you, Keegan," Mun hums. He rests his head against Keegan's shoulder. "So don't even worry. I love you."
"I love you," Keegan responds. He kisses the top of Mun's head.
"I also like your jealousy," the rookie teases. Keegan gently smacks him upside the head.
Keegan Gets Reminded of Mun (Based on This Tweet)
Keegan was heading down the hall to talk to Merrick about something related to the next mission they'd be going when something out the window caught his eye.
Near the base there weren't many live animals due to how isolated it was, but Keegan was surprised to see a small bunny hopping around near some brush.
A small smile crept onto his face as he thought of Mun: short, fluffy, cute. Everything a bunny is but more.
When he got to Merrick's office he had to force back the grin that was still on his face. He couldn't wait to tell Mun about the bunny, knowing they'd get excited and drag Keegan out of the base during some down time to try and find the bunny again.
Pre Keemun Scenario Slightly Inspired from This Tweet
Mun hadn't notified any of their commanding officers about where he was. It was worrying to say the least and even if Keegan wasn't fond of them he had to check in.
A knock on the door of his barracks echoed through the room.
"Come in," Mun called out. They were surprised to see Keegan step in. The sergeant awkwardly shuffled in and stood next to the recruit's bed.
"So," he starts. It's obvious he doesn't deal with these things often. "Why haven't you contacted anyone? Haven't heard from you in a day."
"I, well- sorry," Mun mutters. They're struggling to open up and Keegan can see it. "I'm okay."
"You're not."
It surprises Mun how observant Keegan is. His eyes widen slightly and he sighs.
"I'm okay, really."
"Bullshit," Keegan grunts. He crosses his arms. "Tell me. We can't have you cooped up in here."
Mun huffs. He's being stubborn, but he doesn't care. "Keegan, it's fine. I'll come out... Why did you come anyway?"
Their words were a little harsh and did imply not wanting to see the sergeant.
Keegan feels a pang of hurt at that and replies in a calm but defensive manner, "I came to see you." He pauses before he corrects himself, "to make sure you were okay."
That gets a smile from Mun, and it makes Keegan feel warm inside.
"Come on kid, we can go train," Keegan nods towards the door. "Or whatever you want. I've got time."
Keemun Temporary Tattoos Based on This Prompt
Keegan thought it would be a nice birthday gift for Mun. Cute, temporary cat tattoos...
But when he proposed the idea in passing to Mun he didn't expect them to get overly excited. However this is Mun we're talking about and he's not exactly known for being quiet.
"Oh fuck yeah!" He exclaims. They hold Keegan's hand as the older man chuckles. He applies the temporary tattoo on Mun's arm. The shorter male is grinning like an idiot and it makes Keegan smile.
Cute, he thinks.
"My turn to do your tattoo!" Mun cheerfully says as he does the same thing Keegan did to them just moments ago.
The fondness in the marine's eyes would make anyone melt. He stares down at Mun and admires how precious he is when he's focused. How happy he looks.
Keegan loves these moments with his boyfriend, and he gets too lost in thought. Mun's mischevious "done" is what snaps him out of his head.
The smirk shows they're up to no good, and when he hands Keegan the handheld mirror... well, he expected this.
Of course Mun would litter his partner's face with silly cat tattoos. Good thing they're temporary...
Keegan Writes a Letter to Mun
Hi Mun. My Mun. You know I'm not really good at these, but I try my best for you.
I miss you, you know. This mission's been exhausting. I don't know why the hell they didn't have you come along. You know I'd make sure you'd be able to come if things were in my control.
I don't say it too much on my own, but I love you. Not sure what it is about you that makes me feel this way. Like some dumb high school boy. I know you'll make fun of me for this letter when I get back. Probably gonna knock me down with a hug like always. I don't hate them though. Your hugs are nice. They make me feel safe.
I'm not much of a sap, that much is apparent. You're more affectionate with words than I am, but I hope it's enough to know I'm thinking about you. How much I want to hold you again. I think being away from you for this long has turned me soft... desperate. But you never judge me for it.
I'll be back soon. You're allowed to take some of my hoodies if you miss me too, but knowing you I'm sure you already have.
- Your 'boywife' (I still don't know why you call me this)
Pre Keemun Based on This Tweet
"How many times do I have to tell you, kid?" Keegan grunts. "Third time this week."
Mun folds their arms. "It's not my fault everyone wants to beef with me."
He winces when Keegan tugs on the gauze around his leg. That bastard.
"Nobody wants to fight you," Keegan scoffs. "You're just being a pain in their ass."
"I am not!" Mun protests. But he knows he's a little shit.
"Can't stand when you do this, kid."
"You don't have to help me you know. I'm capable of taking care of mys-"
"Quiet," Keegan cuts Mun off. That earns a smirk from the younger man.
After a few more moments Keegan pats Mun's ankle. "Good to go. Don't do that shit again, you hear me?"
"Fiiine. Can I fight you instead?"
"Get lost."
Keemun Based on This Tweet
"Why me?" Mun asks. They're having a rough time. Keegan knows how he gets when he's spiraling.
"Why you," Keegan echoes. He tugs Mun closer in the bed as he hugs him from behind.
"Yeah," Mun says quietly. "Tell me."
"Because I love you."
Mun grumbles. "That's not a reason!"
"It is," Keegan chuckles.
"Nuh uh."
"Nuh uh?" Keegan smirks. He nuzzles into the back of Mun's neck. "Alright. You want a reason?"
Mun nods. Keegan can't see his face from where they're positioned but he wants to make this matter regardless.
"You make me happy. Sure you've got uh... you're difficult sometimes," he nudges Mun's cheek from behind with his nose. "But I love you. All of you. Every part about you."
"Even when I'm sad?" Mun asks. His voice nearly cracks.
"Especially then." Keegan nods. "Means I get to hold you 'til you're alright."
"Even when I'm irritating?"
"Unfortunately yes," Keegan hums. There's no bite to it and Mun's used to his sarcastic quips.
"You're mean."
"Nah. I'm tough on you 'cause I love you Mun." Keegan replies as he rests his head on Mun's shoulder. He cuddles closer to the shorter man.
"I love you more," Mun says.
Keegan smiles and kisses their cheek. "No way."
Pre Keemun Comparing Hand Sizes Based on This Tweet
"Hey serg come here," Mun calls out from where they sit at a table. There was some down time before the next mission so he was just relaxing.
Keegan hesitates before sitting down across from Mun. "What?"
"Hold out your hand," Mun grins. They hold out their own with his palm facing Keegan.
Keegan raises an eyebrow. "What are you up to, kid?"
"Just do it!"
"Fine."
Keegan holds his hand out with his palm pressed against Mun's.
Mun giggles. It's clear he's up to no good and Keegan can tell.
Before Keegan can speak Mun intertwines their fingers with his.
"Mun-"
"Your hands are big compared to mine... Warm too."
Keegan pulls his hand back and puts it on the table. "Your hands are small and ice cold."
"You're no fun," Mun smirks. "I was having a nice time holding your hand."
"I should make you do double time during training for that," Keegan warns. He knows if he threatens Mun then they'll listen.
"Don't! You know I can't take too much of that."
"Then behave."
"Fine," Mun folds their arms. This gains a sigh from Keegan as he stands up and heads off.
Keemun Kisses Based on This Tweet
"Keegs," Mun whines. He curls up closer to the marine.
"What's up, kid?" He hums in response. His hands thread through their hair lazily.
"I missed you today. A lot."
"That so? I missed you more."
"Nah," Mun nuzzles into Keegan's neck. "I missed you more."
Keegan lifts Mun's head up and cups their face. He rubs his nose against Mun's which gains a whine from the shorter man.
"Quit it," Mun huffs.
"No, in fact I think I'll do more."
Keegan gentle peppers kisses all over Mun's face. His cheeks, his nose, his forehead, his scars, his blemishes. Every place he can manage before kissing them on the lips.
"Missed you most, kid," he says quietly before he pulls away. His hands remain on Mun's cheeks.
"I hate you."
"Do you now?" Keegan smirks.
He knows it's not true.
Keemun Snuggling Based on This Tweet
Keegan and Mun were lying in bed in the marine's barracks. Cuddled up together with Keegan resting his head on Mun's shoulder while watching them play some computer game.
Mun thought it was cute to see Keegan sleepy. His eyes fighting slumber as they closed every so often before opening again.
He leans down to kiss Keegan on the cheek with his own eyes closing. They were surprised to feel a pair of lips touch their own.
Mun jolts back. "Keegan! I thought you were sleeping."
"Mmm... Nah. Just resting my eyes." Keegan smirks. "Got a nice surprise though, maybe I'll do it more often."
Mun grumbles and flicks the taller man on the forehead.
Smooth-talking jerk.
Headcanons Based on This Tweet
I think Keegan was a bit irritated when he first saw Mun. In the way of "how can this idiot even be in the military?" because of how light hearted and carefree they are. Overtime he was just drawn to the way he acts, their sass and humor. It ate Keegan alive and all he would think about sometimes at night is Mun mun mun. The stupid recruit became this guy's comfort character and before he knew it Keegan was in deep.
- He would have a Mun plush. Sleeps with it every night and probably gives it a kiss on the head.
- He fought anyone for his love for Mun. Against all haters and all odds. He came out on top and in love as always. This dude is persistent and he thinks if Mun were real they'd be proud of Keegan.
- He would probably have some merch of Mun or the game he's from. Posters or hoodies... stickers even. Anything he can get.
- He would try his damndest to draw or write them together. Would have lots of Mun fanart in his gallery.
- He would tweak (not as outwardly) over Mun's voice lines and their model in game about how attractive he is.
- Not sure if Keegan would be with anyone romantically (at least not for a long time) but when or if he does it's someone like Mun.
This is (mostly) 1000% projection on how I handle my love for Keegan. If I'm honest I think Fan!Keegan is cute. He would be more excited and joyous than his canon self I think.
The Only Keemun Angst I'll Ever Write
"Please."
It's a word Keegan doesn't use often. He's a man of authority. He doesn't need to beg for anything.
He'd rather die before giving in. But Mun brings that out in him.
"Let me in." His voice is quiet and collected. He can't scare them more than they already are.
Mun shifts in the bed and curls up against Keegan. His head rests on the marine's chest as he hears his heartbeat. Keegan gently pats Mun's head.
He's as terrified as the man in his arms.
"I can't." Mun mumbles. "I'm sorry. I don't want to be hurt. I can't get hurt. Not by you."
"I won't-" Keegan cuts himself short. Mun's probably heard this all before. Empty promises.
"I don't want to hurt you Mun," Keegan sighs. He rests his head on top of Mun's.
Mun leans into the gesture.
"I don't want you to leave me." his voice is quiet and fearful. He's opening up. It's a good sign for Keegan.
"Never dreamed of it kid," Keegan responds. Mun goes back to resting against the other man's chest. His heartbeat is calming.
"I don't want to lose you, Mun. My Mun."
Mun's heart flutters.
"My Keegan." Mun huffs. He loves the marine more than words can say. "I can't lose you. You're my everything."
"A bit extreme," Keegan hums. There's no malice to it though. "That's how I like you. I can't lose my little spitfire."
"Promise me you won't leave."
Mun stares up at Keegan. His eyes roam the older man's face. Over every scar, freckle, pore. He needs to know if Keegan is going to be honest.
Keegan frowns. He isn't a man of promises and he hasn't been able to keep them.
"You know I'm not good at that," he sighs.
Mun heart sinks a little. Keegan notices and quickly speaks up.
"But for you... I'd try. I would do my best. I need you around. You... you keep me grounded."
Mun hasn't seen Keegan this vulnerable before. "Do we need each other?"
"I guess so."
"No complaints here, serg."
Keegan chuckles and leans down to kiss Mun. He adores that stupid recruit more than life itself.
Keemun First Kiss
It was months after Mun's brush with death happened. The sniper that shot them ended up pushing things into motion for the two.
Keegan had feelings for Mun. And he hated it. A stupid recruit out of all people...
The two were drinking like good buddies do. At that point they were friends.
Keegan was completely not himself. When he's drunk he's more emotional and touchy. Mun isn't any different though. He's still flirty and irritating.
"Shut up," Keegan huffs out a small laugh.
"Make me."
Keegan is taken aback for a second. His heart flutters. It's different from the other times Mun's flirted.
Before either can speak again... Keegan leans in. He closes the distance between them with a gentle kiss. He cups Mun's chin to deepen it only slightly.
Mun pulls back after a moment to catch their breath. His heart beats loudly in his chest and they both pant for air.
The rest of the night was spent drinking silently with the two each on their own phones.
Neither remembered the next morning what happened.
Keegan Wants Attention Based on This Tweet
The whole time during the meeting Keegan would glance at Mun. Brushing his knee up against theirs. Even letting his hand roam to hold Mun's.
Unfortunately Mun couldn't pick up on that. They would move their hand away and pay attention to Merrick's briefing.
Once the Ghosts were dismissed Mun gave Keegan a small smile and made his way out of the room. Keegan was hot on their tail.
"Mun." His voice was deep.
He turns around and raises an eyebrow. "Hey Keegs."
Keegan narrows his eyes. "Why did you ignore me?"
"Ignore you?"
"During the briefing. You barely even looked at me."
Mun blinks in confusion. Their relationship was supposed to be private. Why did...
"I'm sorry." Mun frowns. They lean back against the wall. "I thought this was a secret. I can't hold your hand publicly."
Keegan scoffs and glances to the side. "You can."
"Can I?" He raises an eyebrow.
"I mean." Keegan hesitates. "I want you to hold my hand."
"But-"
"I want to be paid attention to by my boyfriend." Keegan huffs gently.
Mun's eyes soften. "I just don't want you to get in trouble."
"I doubt Merrick would get on my ass for it."
Mun pushes back off the wall and grins up at Keegan. They wrap their hands around his waist and tug him closer.
Keegan sighs and rests his forehead against Mun's.
"I can give you attention, baby." Mun hums.
The marine just grunts in acknowledgment before kissing the shorter man's nose.
Pre Keemun... Keegan Fixes Mun's Injury
Mun being carried by the sergeant they had a crush on wasn't something that crossed his mind. But when you get a leg injury that's what happens.
Keegan ran faster than Mun had seen since they joined as he groaned and held onto his leg wound.
"I'm sorry." Mun mumbled. Keegan just scoffed and ran to a safe spot in the forest away from the enemy.
Once they got into a covered area Keegan gently sat Mun down and kneeled in front of them. He put his hand on the wound which made the recruit wince.
"Be careful please," he whines. "It really hurts."
"You're reckless," Keegan states bluntly. "You're lucky you're light."
"I'm really not."
"I wouldn't have carried you if you were too heavy, Mun."
Mun rolls his eyes and leans back against the tree they were set near.
"Leg out," Keegan commands gently. Mun obliges as Keegan unwraps the shorter man's makeshift tourniquet on his leg.
Keegan makes sure there's no wet blood as he pulls out some bandages and he begins to wrap up Mun's wound.
It feels almost... intimate. Keegan glances up at Mun and is surprised to see them looking back at him. They put a hand on Keegan's shoulder and squeezes gently.
"Thank you Keegan," He says quietly. "You saved my life."
Perhaps it was dramatic. It'd be normal for the recruit to do that. But something about it made Keegan feel weird.
He huffs and stares back down at the bandages. "It's nothing."
Keegan doesn't like how that made him feel.
He doesn't look back up at Mun again. Not even when he helps them along back to shelter with the other Ghosts.
Keemun Drabble Based on This Song
(This takes place in a universe where neither are soldiers)
Keegan has a hard time accepting how he feels for Mun. It's a struggle to even be around them at this point.
He flirts with Keegan. The older man wonders if it's something they reserve for him. Well yeah, Mun likes Keegan but he's too afraid to say anything. Doesn't want to face rejection from the man they're in love with.
Keegan tries to get over him. It'd never work. Mun wouldn't like Keegan right? A gruff and quiet man. Sarcastic and distant. Sure he's tall but definitely not Mun's type...
But he can't stay away. He's too busy being Mun's without even realizing. If only Keegan knew just how badly they yearned for him in the same way.
Keegan thinks over moments they've had together. Drunk talks... laughing until their stomachs hurt... glances that don't feel entirely friendly... Mun holding Keegan's hand when the other man gets stressed... Gentle, warm hugs...
Keegan racks his brain trying to think of a reason. Explanations for the way Mun's acting. Maybe he's just too friendly. Yeah... that's it.
Poor Keegan has to convince himself Mun doesn't like him.
But they could be together, if he wanted to.
POV: If Mun Died
keegan wouldn't constantly visit the grave. he wouldn't clean it, at first. he would stay away. he would bury himself in work. he wants to forget. he can't accept that mun's gone. that he'll never hear their loud laugh and their stupid puns. he'll visit the grave on mun's birthday each year but after a year and a half he just gives up. one night he just spends it at mun's grave. talking to him as if they were still alive.
"i really liked you. i wish i could've told you that."
"why were you always so reckless? so... so stupid. fuck, kid. why?"
he's a strong man. or so he says. he deals with grief by not dealing with it. so when mun dies he feels helpless.
i fear that mun's would NOT be. ahem. Yeah. they would've died doing something like throwing back a grenade and realizing that cooking it wasn't the best option.
or worse yet. he died protecting keegan. bullet through the torso. blood soaks keegan's clothes. mun's trembling hands gripping at keegan's uniform. keegan's panicked voice over the radio.
he breaks one of his guns when he gets the news. kicks his barracks' door maybe. breaks a part of it off in one clean movement. hides in his room for days. loses a few points because of it.
he's angry. angry he couldn't save mun but also angry that there wasn't enough time for them.
when keegan retires he gets a cat. never finds love By choice. he names the cat mun.
it's oddly similar to mun.
Keemun Kinda Angsty First Kiss (After Getting Together)
Keegan practically dragged Mun to the barracks. He closed the door behind them and set Mun down on Keegan's bed.
The marine slumps down next to Mun and pulls him close, cuddling against them.
"Scary mission." The older man states.
And it was. Mun once again was too reckless and decided to throw back the grenade the enemy threw their way. Keegan nearly had a heart attack.
"You're too carefree Mun."
Mun frowns. "I just did what I thought was right."
They're facing each other as Keegan tugs Mun closer. His hands tremble as he tugs on the back of Mun's gear.
"I can't lose you," the sergeant's voice cracks. It's something Mun hadn't seen before. "I don't want to lose you."
"You won't," the shorter man sighs.
"You're too oblivious for your own good." Keegan pauses. He clears his throat gently. "In a nice way."
Mun smirks. "Yeah, sure. You hate me don't you? I know you do Keegs."
Keegan gets a feeling in his chest. It's anger. How could Mun say that?
"I don't hate you. You know I don't."
"Sometimes I wonder." Mun admits quietly. The conversation shouldn't have turned in this direction. But with the recruit you never know.
Keegan moves his hands to cup Mun's face. "I love you."
Mun bites back a smile. "You love me?"
Keegan nods. He leans in and kisses Mun gently on their lips. It's much more tender than the drunken kiss they shared a year ago. There's love on both sides. Genuine feelings.
They get lost in the kiss. When Mun pulls away they giggle. "Our first kiss."
"...Not quite."
Mun tilts his head, but Keegan doesn't elaborate.
But he remembers.
Sleepy Keemun Snuggles
One of Keegan's favorite things about Mun was how soft they were. Just a bit chunky was all Keegan needed to be happy.
He tugged Mun closer as they spooned. The sergeant nuzzled his nose against the back of Mun's head.
"Soft," he hummed. "My Mun."
Mun giggled and turned around to face Keegan. The older man grinned down at the recruit.
"Cute."
"Nah... you are." Mun raises an eyebrow.
Keegan brushes his nose against theirs, "Quiet, you."
Mun placed a quick kiss on Keegan's lips. The marine sighs with content.
"My sweet boy," Keegan whispers. "I love you."
"And I love you," Mun says just as quietly. Like if he said it any louder they'd be admitting something meant as a secret. "So much."
"You're my partner 'til the end." Keegan mutters. "There's no one else but you."
"That so, babe?" Mun chuckles.
Keegan just grumbles and buries his face into their neck.
Mun snorts and pets Keegan's head gently. His hair is soft... and before either know it they've drifted off to sleep.
Keemun Cuddle Fluff
Mun's nose was nuzzled comfortably against Keegan's neck as they cuddled. Since they both were finally free from work they always slept in together.
Keegan was awake. He got up much earlier than Mun. So when he did wake up he'd just look at them. Admire his face. His scars. His freckles.
Keegan placed a gentle kiss against Mun's forehead before the shorter man squirmed in their sleep.
"Mornin', kid." Keegan mumbled against his forehead.
"Good morning babe." Mun replied sleepily.
Keegan pressed kisses all over Mun's face which made them whine and squirm. Especially when the marine's lips touched Mun's scar along his face.
"Awfully affectionate this morning." Mun remarks sarcastically.
"I can't help it," Keegan laughs softly. "You're just so..."
"So...?"
"I don't know. Perfect?"
"I'm not." Mun snorts. "Far from it."
Keegan nips Mun's nose. "I meant for me. You're beautiful when you sleep."
"Am I not at any other time?"
The marine groans. "You know what I mean, idiot."
Keegan Locket Headcanon
The stress of war was something Keegan was far too used to. Fallen soldiers and even friends haunted his every new mission. This one was no different.
However normally Mun would be with him. Them and their stupid jokes always trying to lighten the mood. At first it irritated Keegan. But now since they're together it's much more endearing.
Mun was healing from an injury. Typical fashion where he does something stupid on the field. Keegan wonders how they haven't been discharged yet. But regardless he can't come along with Keegan.
Keegan's lying in his sleeping bag at the camp set up for him and his team. He fumbles under his uniform before he finally unsheathes a locket.
It's a dark grey color all over and inside is a photo Mun took of the two together. On the other side of the lock is a small piece of paper with their handwriting:
i love you ♡
Keegan sighs as he stares at the picture of them. Happy and smiling together. It's one of the marine's favorite photos.
For Mun, Keegan thinks. I have to make it. If not for me then for him.
Keegan Talking to Hesh About Mun
"What do I do, man?" Keegan groans. "It's pissing me off. I just wanna figure this shit out."
"How do they make you feel?" Hesh asks.
"You gotta help me more than that," Keegan scoffs.
Hesh just laughs. "I can't tell you what to do."
Keegan holds his head in his hands. His tone turns almost... vulnerable as he speaks again.
"Promise you don't judge me?"
Hesh's eyebrows raise as he leans forward with his elbows on his knees. "Go on."
"They... irritate me. I don't like his behavior."
"So you don't really li-"
"Let me finish," Keegan huffs. "Despite how they act I can't help but be protective of him. They anger me but also make me feel weird."
"What kind of weird?"
"I sound fucking stupid saying this," Keegan scoffs. "But happy I guess? He makes me laugh a lot. Smile more than I have for a while. I don't know. They won't get out of my head. Help me out, man."
Hesh smirks, "You're in love."
"I'm not."
"If you want my help you have to be open to the idea, Keegan."
A small pause fills the air.
"I might be."
Keemun Cuddling Again
Mun traces their fingertips along Keegan's arm tattoos. He feels at ease whenever he's sleeping with Keegan in the barracks. It calms the anxiety in their head.
"Enjoying yourself, kid?" Keegan smiles down at them.
Mun nods. "Yeah. I like your tattoos."
"I like you," Keegan leans down to brush his nose against Mun's.
"I like you too," Mun grins. His eyes meet Keegan's.
They just look at each other. Even in the darkness of the room with only the light from the hallway shining through, their eyes convey every emotion.
Love. Trust. But also fear. In this line of work it's hard to not be nervous... but Keegan can make Mun feel safe. Secure.
The eye contact makes Mun shy away and lay his head against Keegan's chest. The marine snorts quietly and pats their head.
"Shy, eh?" he teases.
"Yeah. Your eyes are too much. Too pretty."
Mun's speech slurs. He's tired and Keegan can sense it.
Keegan shifts Mun up a little to apply their weight onto him.
"I don't wanna crush you."
"I can handle it. I want to know you're still here with me."
Mun huffs in defeat. "But-"
"No buts," Keegan kisses Mun's forehead. "Now sleep. Training's tomorrow. Need you at your best, kid."
The shorter man nods and curls up on top of Keegan.
Even after Mun was asleep Keegan couldn't stop staring at them. Peaceful. Sweet.
His.
Keemun Breakfast Scenario
Keegan woke up to the smell of his favorite kind of breakfast food. Sure it was basic... but some eggs and toast could never be beaten to him.
He stretched and got up out of bed and headed to the kitchen to see Mun standing and cooking.
Mun was an oblivious guy but when it came to Keegan he knew all he could. Footstep patterns included.
"Morning Keegs."
"Hey, kid," Keegan hummed. "Smells good."
He walked up behind Mun and wrapped his arms around their waist, nuzzling his face into the back of their hair.
He felt a wet bump on his arm and a whine as he glanced down to see Luther.
"Hey, boy," Keegan chuckled and pat the pup's head.
"He's jealous," Mun snickered as he finished preparing breakfast for the two of them.
"I can tell." Keegan responds as he steps back and pets Luther some more. He wanted to give affection to both of his favorite things in the world at the same time but Luther was a relentless dog.
The two men sat down and ate breakfast, talking about their dreams from the night before. It was interrupted every so often by Keegan giving Luther some table scraps.
Breakfast with Mun made Keegan's morning so much brighter despite being scolded about feeding Luther.
With his two favorite boys, nothing could take the smile away from the marine's face.
Keemun Angst Fluff
"You can't love me," Mun says quietly.
"I can't?" Keegan raises an eyebrow. He folds his arms and stares down at them.
"Yeah."
"You going to elaborate?"
"Does it matter?"
"You're my boyfriend. It matters."
Mun grunts. "I'm hard to love."
"Nope."
"I'm jealous."
"So?"
He glares at the marine. "You're having fun with this aren't you?"
Keegan smiles. "Not my intention, kid. You're just being irrational right now."
He steps closer and tugs the smaller man into a hug. His arms snake around Mun's waist as he rests his head on top of theirs.
"I love you. Flaws and all. Jealousy and all. You've made me feel what nobody else has."
Keegan pauses before continuing with a shaky voice. "I feel safe with you, Mun. My Mun. I love you."
"I love you too. I'm sorry that I'm hard to deal with."
"Hey," Keegan warns gently before flicking their forehead. "You're a handful yes. But I don't mind it. I don't mind you. I like you."
"Love me?" Mun smirks.
"Unfortunately," Keegan smiles back. God did he love that man.
Keemun Star-Crossed Lovers
Why did it have to be this way?
Keegan was strong. At least he'd be willing to think so. But when you have to watch your lover be buried it's hard to not break down.
He wished he could curse the sky. Curse fate for tearing them apart in every single universe.
Whether it be by having Mun love someone else... or by one dying before the other... or one being shipped away... they were never meant to be.
The marine swore at the sky. At whatever god decided to play with him like this when he needed someone most.
"Fuck you," He gritted his teeth. Although the stars didn't speak back he could almost hear the laughter. The bitterness of what the world had in store for him.
Keegan Can't See Mun After Injury
"Let me in," Keegan's voice raises. Hesh nearly has to hold him back.
"We can't." The medic responds. "It's serious. He has to-"
"I need to see them." Keegan cuts the medic off.
Hesh knows he can't drag Keegan off. Away from where his lover is. Just behind the door... so he grips the marine's arm.
"Protocol doesn't allow-"
"I want to see him," Keegan's voice wavers on the verge of desperation. "I have to."
The medic sighs but stands her ground, "Sergeant... as much as I'd like to let you see Mun it just isn't allowed. I have to follow the rules of an injury this dire."
Keegan grits his teeth. He can't get mad at a woman just doing her job. He knows the protocol. He knows what's supposed to happen.
But he's angry anyway.
"Hesh," Keegan mutters. "Radio me when he's out."
With that Keegan departs. God knows if he didn't he'd end up causing more chaos besides the battle they endured today.
Keegan hastily finds his way to the recovery room once Hesh tells him Mun's stable.
His Mun... stable and okay.
The marine's heart hammers as he arrives. The two have been dating for about a year by now... but even then Keegan feels like he has to hide his true feelings but he's working on it...
"Keegan!" Mun exclaims cheerfully. They reach out with grabby hands to hug Keegan.
It's like all of the older man's worries were thrown out the window. All of the anxiety was gone once he saw their smile.
"Hey, kid..." He hums as he hugs Mun back.
His touch is gentle and careful. He can't break the only thing that's ever truly mattered to him.
"I," Keegan pauses. He rests his head on their shoulder. "I missed you. I love you."
Mun giggles. He knows that Keegan worries too much... he has the signs memorized for when the marine needs reassurance and care.
"I'm here," Mun responds gently. "I love you. I missed you. All I wanted was you by my side."
Keegan pulls back and huffs. "They wouldn't let me in to see you."
"Protocol," Mun smirks. He knows Keegan hates when they have to lecture him.
"Yeah yeah," he waves dismissively before pulling Mun back into a hug. It's done with such affection that it even takes Mun by surprise. Keegan doesn't want to mess with the bandages but he doesn't let go of his boyfriend. His Mun.
"Just let me stay for a while," Keegan mumbles. "Please."
"I would've asked you to stay anyway," Mun chuckles. Keegan just grumbles.
How dare he be vulnerable for the man he's in love with. But shame comes later.
He needs to keep them safe.
Keemun Facepainting
For the Halloween season the base decided to have some fun little events planned. Maybe it was childish but it was a nice change of pace for the stress of being a soldier.
One part that Mun dragged Keegan to was a place for face painting. Either someone could paint your face for you or you could do it to yourself or someone else.
Mun and Keegan decided to paint each other's faces. Since Mun was an artist it was easier for them to navigate Keegan's face like a canvas.
"Feels weird," Keegan mumbles. Mun giggles.
Mun had painted on some spots on Keegan like a leopard almost. Keegan looked in the mirror and smiled to himself.
Cute. "Good work," he ruffles Mun's hair.
"Paint my face now!" Mun grins. Keegan hesitated because of how bad he was with brushwork but he wanted to try.
He was gonna do some simple whiskers and a nose, but Mun was fidgety.
The whiskers were drawn on perfectly fine... but the nose was another story. Mun shifted slightly to readjust his head and ended up getting a line drawn down to his upper lip with black paint.
"Ah. Sorry, kid," Keegan frowns. He licks his own thumb and moves to hold Mun's face still with his hand while wiping off the paint with his thumb.
Mun just stares at Keegan... his focus. His face. His eyes. Their heart started to race. He was so close. They could kiss him if they wanted.
Keegan hesitated before wiping off the paint and brushing it on his pant leg.
Normally Mun would say something flirty but he was too flustered to even think properly.
For once they were left speechless.
Keemun Avengers AU (Credit to Kylo for the Idea)
Disclaimer, idk anything about the MCU so if its inaccurate idgaf that much. Just take keemun
An Ultron Minion roams the streets, trying to go unnoticed. Dressed casually like an everyday person, but Keegan and Mun already know that's one of Ultron's men.
They had to get in proper position, hidden from bystanders. That minion has to be alone, isolated from others before Keegan can take his shot.
Mun hangs around like always, practically glued to the hip with Keegan. It's necessary though, since Mun can soothe Keegan with ease.
The minion wanders away from the sidewalk, headed down an alley. He looks dodgy, peering at his surroundings anxiously. Maybe he's safe though.
Keegan steadies his rifle, finger pressing lightly on the trigger. He's shaky, as usual when there's so many things that could go wrong with a single target.
Mun takes a deep breath, gently resting their hands on Keegan's shoulders. The relaxation is instant. It's familiar, and Keegan is able to take a deep breath, aiming his scope, and firing.
Dead on. The Ultron minion falls to the ground, and Mun shakes Keegan by his shoulders excitedly, "Did you see that?!"
"I was the one who did it," Keegan replies sassily. "Thank you though, for the help."
