Locations
The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. The Faculty Dashboard in Workday offers a "View My Teaching Schedule", which allows faculty to find their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a schedule of exam times for courses that are required to take an exam as per NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes that are held in the evenings are scheduled for the regular class time of the final examination weeks.

Registration
Students are encouraged to consult the exam schedule online. It is important to keep in mind that the schedule for exams may be altered at any time. Students should also print the official list of questions to bring with them to their exam.

Exam sites make every effort to accommodate those with special requirements. The nature and degree of these needs should be noted on the registration form and verified by a doctor's attestation. The locations for the exam must be able to respect confidentiality and keep it.
If a student is scheduled to take three tests on the same day, they must contact their instructor or department to arrange for a make-up test. It is possible to take three exams on the same day. However, this can cause a lot of stress and can affect the quality. Additionally, the instructor might not be able to conduct a makeup test on a different day.
Students must review their course materials prior to taking the exam and practice their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test that measures the ability to speak, read, and write in German. The results of the examination are given using a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the test are awarded the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies the achievement of language level A1. This level corresponds with the first level of the six-level scale of competence laid out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free of charge. Students should bring a valid government-issued ID to the test. If they do not present an acceptable photo ID are disqualified from the examination.
Fees
If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to be awarded the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you will need to pay the exam fee. This is in addition to the course fee.
