Hasu's Relationship Chart

Hasu flipped through a few stacks papers before gingerly sliding them into a cabinet underneath his desk. There has been a bit of chaos in the Devil Moon recently, and chaos means more paperwork from all the collected evidence and such. Any normal man would feel exhausted doing all this work, but Hasu didn't mind. He was glad to help in any way. He didn't mind bearing the burdens of other people. But, it could be rather frustrating at times. There was so much he wanted to do to protect those who couldn't protect themselves, but he was afraid of himself, and what kind of havoc he'd wreak if he got out of control. He was still a monster, after all. That's why he was content just watching from a distance, keeping tabs on both high and low profile denizens of the city. He stretches in his seat, before opening a small cabinet, unfurling a long list of annotated papers, countless names and notes on them. He opens the first file, reading it.

Mika Mori

Most overseers aren't a problem. I could deal with them nonlethally rather easily. She would pose quite a few though. I've seen her multiple times in the Devil Moon, and her crushing physicality, blinding speed and martial prowess lets her dominate most close quarters situations. Consummate Self-Incarnation users are far and few inbetween Youdu. Not only that, she fights like a mad dog, thrashing against its cage. Another dog for the overseers. A shame, but perhaps that is too spiteful for me to say. I can't imagine what it'd be like to be a human with an aura like hers without the protection or guidance of the overseers. And she isn't all bad. She has a kindness in her heart, I've seen it while on my excursions. When a surveyor is cornered by hungry spirits, I've seen her appear from the shadows, splatter them into spiritual ichor (of course, scaring the poor surveyor in the process), and walk away rather menacingly. I wish her well on her endeavors, but I don't think we'd ever have any pleasant encounters, unfortunately. She might kill me.

Addendum: She has a good fashion sense. Form fitting, sleek, with a designer hat. A+.

Kaguya

One may mistake this young girl for a school girl on her way to class at a single glance, but I ask that you hold off any initial judgement by appearances only. Her skills are remarkable, and her technique is nothing short of madness. That's even without her... proclivities. Against truly heinous foes, she'll get worked up, and when she gets worked up, her bladework is nothing short of divine. I've counted at least two legendary techniques, perhaps 3, used by her. I pray we never meet. She'd probably work herself into bursting a blood vessel after looking at my past. Otherwise, she seems like a friendly, kind, if not hyperactive child. It's a shame she works under the jurisdiction of the overseers. And why does she yell like that when barging down doors? I could hear her from a mile away.

Addendum: No last name. It makes sifting through all these K's a bit difficult.

Aoi

It seems as if the overseers are not short of any talent. Incredibly gifted in all affinities, her ability as a exorcist and overseer cannot be denied. Her investigative abilities even rivals mine, nay, dare I say she surpasses me? I'm rather envious of her talents. I'm quite the one trick pony, while she possesses a multitude of techniques and equipment. Her versatility is quite unmatched, not to mention her Noble Commandment, which is incredibly versatile on its own. She seems like a truly kind hearted woman and unlikely to gut me like a fish if we ever crossed paths, I think. Though, I'd rather keep my distance from her due to the company she keeps. Perhaps we could be allies in another life. I wonder though, does she have a last name? There are a million Aoi's in Youdu. I should investigate this matter, when I have the time.

Addendum: Another one with an impeccable eye for fashion. To you and your wardrobe, I say "Bravo."

Lloyd the Purple Oni

Uncommon are onis that become overseers, more peculiar are purple onis. It's not often the two clans mix, but I suppose the oddities don't end there. I respect the young man as an overseer of decent moral standing, still an overseer of course, but an alright one nonetheless. His techniques mix both the legendary heights of both Core and Phase affinities--I can't imagine the amount of strain the young man puts on his body, but I reckon he's strong enough to handle it. Perhaps he won't cut me down with one glance due to my past, but I wouldn't count on it. Another one I'll send anonymous tips to for now.

Addendum: Funnily enough, he seems bear some hatred to the Hellions and the Blue Demon Clan--but shares no ill will to the Reds. Interesting.

Miko

When I went by another name, Zahhak, I thought there would be no redemption for me--until I found the nameless monk. He saved my soul, and in doing so, gave me the ability to use my talents to save others. Miko is very reminiscent of him, and for that, she has my utmost respect, and pity. It must be difficult to bear the burden of immortality, especially when you are dutybound. All life must end one way or another. I wonder what her freedom would look like. Anyhow, most of her techniques are nothing special, not that there's anything wrong with that. A strong foundation is perfectly serviceable, especially with the treasure trove of information she possesses. But, I do wonder how her immortality works. A question for another time. Perhaps discussed over a cup of tea, but I don't know her well enough for such niceties. That, and her guild might exorcise me on sight.

Addendum: I've never seen her take a day off before.

Senguru-no-Sumire

The prize of the Exorcists and the Senguru. Truth be told, it's hard to watch her--she's fiercely guarded at all times. As expected of the Golden Centennial Avatar. I don't know that much about her, just some basic details from when I had the opportunity to observe her and keep an eye on her. Her aura is monstrous though, but it's a constant swirling yin and yang. A bright shining light, and a strange darkness, all cascading into each other. I'll have to keep careful eye on her. I've heard a few unpleasant rumors about her personality, but she's still just a girl. I'm sure she's nice. I like the Senguru, so it might be a bit of my bias leaking through.

No additional notes.

Iku

Another immortal, I believe. One of her techniques. I have respect for those who give away valuable services for free, especially healers, the men and women of medicine who devote their lives to healing the sick have a blessed occupation. Even if she does it out of spite. She has quite the magnetic personality as well, so I feel it less necessary to keep an eye on her especially with Tsukuro tending to her as her bodyguard. Her techniques are nothing to scoff at--I believe she is one of, if not the most skilled healer in the entire city. Her affinity with Phase and Alchemy are truly sublime, and her spiritual aptitude is incredible, as expected of an exorcist working with the Senguru. Doesn't seem like the type to win an arm wrestle though, although that isn't very meaningful when you have a squad of incredibly talented exorcists around you.

Addendum: I wonder how many people have mistaken her for a child before?

Waffu

I'm no stranger to unique appearances, and I don't judge. He's a bit clumsy and a bit yellow belly--not that those are insults in any way. Just an eccentricity to his occupation. Despite his nature, and appearance--his natural physicality is incredible, only enhanced by his equipment and techniques. Scratches don't stay on him for long. I've seen him create massive drafts of wind that'd blow even the grandest trees with the deepest roots away. I quite like him. In a city of full of exuberant personalities, he's quite grounded and down to earth. I don't see that often. It could be my introverted nature influencing me though.

Addendum: If he ever quits his exorcist job, I'm sure he could make a killing standing around in very sunny areas of the city.

Tsukuro

I have my gripes with the Lunar Temple, and I was initially a bit suspicious of him because of it, but I did some investigating into his background and it seems like he has some negative history with the the higher-ups of the temple regarding corruption. So, he now has my deep sympathy. An undeserving debt, I feel, but my personal feelings are meaningless in the matter. One can only stand idly and watch the life of innocents get strangled out of them by bureaucracy for so long before they act. I do not know much else about his history, though. The man works with Iku as well, so I assume that he is a good person at heart. He is a brilliant fighter, a genius in palm and blade. His combination of long range sweeping blade strokes, along with his defensive prowess at close range makes him an incredibly formidable--capable of destroying any spirit with ease while staying unharmed. Possibly one of the most physically gifted exorcists I've seen. Fearsome. Maybe I should have picked up a weapon myself.

Addendum: His blade "Profanation" seems to be capable of erasing spirits from existence. Maybe a way to get rid of this affliction of mine?

Chitragupta Kumari

"Her Holiness". An ironic title. She's no different from the other ravenous ones that trample on the less fortunate to get ahead in the city. The only difference is that she has the 'divine mandate' to continue her butchery while under the exorcists. Her obsession with violence isn't justice, it's madness. I can only hope she will self reflect and become penitent. When strangled by the veil of madness, you cannot inhale the breath of clarity. Though, it is no surprise that many have flocked to her as a figure of authority. Her ability to dominate and amass an army of incredibly powerful spirits is nearly unrivaled, nothing short of divine. She is an incredibly valuable asset to the exorcists for this reason, a walking armaggeddon waiting to happen. I'll keep an eye on her. Such powers shouldn't be left unchecked. I wonder how the other exorcists feel about her.

No additional notes.

Meliala

Another one of the "Christ's Blades". But she doesn't seem to have the same kindness or well tempered nature as Andrew Brunet, I hear. That is rather interesting. I figured these "Christians" would be more similar, but perhaps there are different conducts and cultural differences surrounding it depending on what you were taught. As for her, I find a zealous nature... disagreeable. It is one thing to believe strongly in your ideals, it is another to be so intolerant on those who do not see the light. Not everyone will be fortunate enough to find themselves on the road of righteous. It will be an arduous journey, found only through deep self-reflection. Disregarding my opinions on her opinions, I know not much about her, as I do not know much about the "Christ's Blades" in the first place. I believe an excursion to their lands is due. I'll watch them carefully.

No additional notes.

Kaine Tsukikage

The head of the Hunter's Lodge. I have not much skill in beast hunting, so I cannot comment on their methods--but they run a pretty mean kitchen. I've eaten at one of their kitchens before. I... won't lie, it is difficult for me to know what tastes good or not due to my... biology, or lack-thereof. But, it tasted good enough. So do not knock it until you try it, as people say. As for Kaine herself, I'm a bit wary of the arrogant bloodlusted berserker types--hypocritical of me, I know, but I try not to judge, especailly because she protects the innocent At the very least, she is an enemy of the Hellion. So, she is good in my book. Anyhow, I much prefer seeing her smile while she cooks instead. Whatever my opinion on her, she is truly gifted in all aura aptitudes, but uses a combination of a tracking sigil with her Nimbus Iaido to predate and strike down monsters quickly. It is a bit unique, she seems much more suited to a strength based fighting style than a dexterous and nimble one like Iaido, but I suppose underneath that frenzied exterior is a calculating tactician capable of exploiting any weak point to deliver crushing blows.

No additional notes.

Yunlāw Jín

Another beast hunter with a battle tendency. Must be the profession. I've heard a few stories of a blazing monkey running around and clashing against beasts, so I decided to investigate a bit. I don't think our personalities mesh very well, but that does not mean I think any less of him. In fact, I quite like the boy. Friendly, cheery and outgoing, it's difficult to dislike someone of his stature. While others may see a battle hungry madman, I can tell he's much smarter than others let on. He just doesn't really think too hard outside of battle. In battle is a different story, though. He is a fellow Conduit Connection user. Though, our conductions (and fighting styles) are polar opposites--his technique set is quite perfect for his headlong nature. A very skilled martial artist with incredible prowess with flames, his aura aptitudes seem to compliment his martial and elemental style very well. He could fare well well if he moved to the The Border Wilds, and perhaps even pick up employment in the Hunter's Lodge.

No additional notes.

John Thomas

Another berserking beast hunter. Really must be the profession--though he seems a lot calmer than the rest. I came across him in an outing to the Wilds and he caught my eye. It is a bit uncommon to see gaijin in the spirit realm, but I suppose his peculiarities don't end there. He seems to get embroiled in unfortunate circumstances often, even if he does try to keep a peaceful lifestyle, for the most part. At the risk of this sounding bad, I'm pleasantly surprised with him. Whenever I've sensed his aura, it's embroiled in darkness as if evil is beckoning to him at every moment, but he lives rather modestly in spite of that. For this, I believe more strongly in the ability of men to do good no matter what. His fighting style is much like a hungry bear's, clawing and shredding everything in his path with his claws. His physical acumen is nothing short of incredible, and he has rarely any trouble dispatching chimeras in no time with his martial arts know-how and raging beastly abilities. I do hope he manages to find some peace.

No additional notes.

Toshiko the Firefly

Most Beast Hunters seem to be nice people. Probably the profession with the most respectable people, outside of more domestic ones such as housekeeping. A friendly and upbeat girl, with a monstrous ability to smash everything in sight to bits. I don't know much about shapeshifter society and culture, but the Fireflies seem to be jovial people who enjoy celebration and festivities. I could see their performances from even the deepest jungles, as they light up the night sky. Maybe I should spend more time in the wilds.

No additional notes.

Distorted Mirage

To say she's caught my eye is a bit of an understatement. I feel as if we are kindred spirits, in our curses and our technique. A fellow repenter, a slave to the cycle of karma, dedicated to the well-being of others, lamenting her own past. I know not of her past, nor what vexes her, but I could tell it deeply troubles her. I understand. I would like to speak to her and see the world through her eyes, but I fear my affliction will drag her further into the depths of hell. But, that is the curse of people such as ourselves. In terms of technique, we have many similiarities--but she is of light, and I am of shadow. She is deeply attuned to the destructive forces of her own aura, capable of obliterating anything she so much as looks at with her immense aura. It's an incredibly painful and exhaustive fighting style though, I can see it on her face after she exerts herself. Perhaps, this is her way of self-flagellating.

Addendum: Her sense of style is quite good. Well embroidered fabrics made of finely woven silks and wool. I need to get more clothes like this.

Maihime Amajiro

A bodyguard that struggles to do her job properly. She is quite endearing, actually. Fun to watch. I hope that doesn't make me sound creepy. But, she really is just fascinating to watch. There's always something happening with her, and the amount of times I've seen her get into a fistfight with some Hellion goons really stokes the schadenfreude in me, though I know its wrong to feel this way. Though, I wouldn't underestimate her. I can count on my fingers the amount of Consummate Self-Incarnation users, she just so happens to be one of them. I've seen her cleave and smash through hordes of yakuza with a few swipes. Incredibly skilled in martial arts, incredibly hard to kill, I'd rather not get in her way. I'm content to watch from a distance.

Addendum: On further research, I realized one of the reasons why I enjoy watching her is because of her pheromones. Also, I saw her drunk and fall into a trash can.

Chi Shin'nou

Another bodyguard with awe inspiring physicality. The profession is meant for people like them. I don't know a great deal about her, but her philosophies are interesting, to say the least. "An ant life has the same value as a man's life." I suppose I can see why she says that. All life is life. Precious or not. It all holds the same weight to her. "All is one, and one is all", or something along those lines. She rambles quite a bit and sometimes I stop and listen in for hours. I do not mean this in a rude manner, but a speech class may be in order for her. Many times, I thought she would be onto something profound and heartfelt--only for her to stop and talk about something else. I may disagree with some of her fundamental philosophies, but I will give her credit. Her fighting style is one much like the unstoppable beating of a war drum. Relentless and oppressive, she will not stop until her foes are diced and melted into bits. I would hire her, but I do not really need a bodyguard. Still, she's quite good at her job, and I hope we do not meet on bad terms.

No additional notes.

Ootori Tsugumi

Now, someone breaks the mold. A brilliant user of both Flow and Alchemy aptitudes, one would expect a woman like her to be more fit for secretary work than bodyguard work--but you'd be wrong. Reified Champion gives her immense physical prowess, boosted by her control in flow and ability in martial arts, and the Collapsing Star technique allows her staff to be a weapon of pure destruction. Of course, her normal physical stats are a bit lacking, but such a thing is unnecessary when you're pulled towards her staff and quickly erased. Combat capabilities aside, I understand how it feels to be used by groups and then thrown to the side. It is an unfortunate reality when you are dealing with cutthroat officials, but she seems to have bounced back well. I feel as if I could get along with her. I like the company of reserved individuals. The company she keeps however, the Yahata, well, I don't hate them. Their morals are a bit spotty, but... I believe in redemption for all men and women. Perhaps, some of them may turn a new leaf. Who knows?

Addendum: Quite a good fashion sense. Very tasteful outfit, must've been a good tailor. Black heels are a good choice.

Andrew Brunet

I do not know him very well. He's a gaijin that picked up a bit of steam recently, as head of the Christ's Blade. I am unfamiliar with the Christ figure, so I did some research, and it yielded some interesting information. A man called Jesus Christ died for all of humanity's sins. A great, selfless martyr to rally behind. I understand. Sin is a potent thing, and the desire to repent for such things is present in many creatures that understand morality. I'll have to read up a bit more on it. Andrew himself? I've heard he's an incredibly skilled kenshi, who uses his charisma to rally the poor and downtrodden behind his banner. A noble cause.

Addendum: Seems as if I can glean more insight into this 'Christ' by reading a religious text called the Bible.

Aziz, the Almighty

He's heckled me outside my office before. One of the greatest, and most deadly, nuisances in the Devil Moon, hell the entire city. I would simply like to be left alone by people like him, but, no, battle hungry psychos that want to cause chaos love to show up in my line of work and on my front doorstep. I've had to change offices twice because of him. How fun. If you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic. It's not fun at all. He keeps harassing people like me. It pains me to say, but, in terms of martial prowess--I don't think anyone in Youdu stands a chance against him. He is truly gifted beyond any measure when it comes to his techniques. And I don't think you can even kill the fucker. Excuse my language. I'll get sick if I have to applaud him any more. I can only hope and pray that he finds some redemption. If I could, maybe he could. Is it unlikely? Yes. Will I try to believe? ...Yes.

No additional notes.

Kuiara Tamenai

I do not like many warsmiths and their ilk. Especially if they reside in the Devil Moon. Fortunately for those who live there, he is often off killing and butchering somewhere else. His adaptive fighting style make it incredibly hard to kill him, and his skill in technique artistry is nearly unmatched. I'd rather not face off against him head on. His ego is quite annoying. I don't think those like Kuiara will ever change, but, if I believe that Aziz can maybe change, so can Kuiara. Possibly. It's a slim chance.

No additional notes.

Hayato Taida

The infamous samurai of the Yahata. I've tried to investigate into his past, and nothing came up. Only something about being a nameless sell sword. He fits the stereotype of a ronin, unmotivated, lecherous with a rather dubious moral code. But his talent with a blade cannot be denied. So much so, I am not shocked if he did clear out the entirety of Yomi Castle in a single night. If all the greatest swordsmen came to a head, I cannot help but ponder who would emerge victorious. If Taida emerged from the ashes, I wouldn't be surprised one bit. On the Yahata--they are quite the miscreants, however, hopeless souls with no path will emerge together. I'm not surprised people like them would band together. Loneliness can crush a soul to bits. May they steer themselves on the just path one day.

Addendum: He just sent me a calling card. Speak of the devil, hm?

Faisal

She frustrates me, because she is clearly out of her mind, but I can't help but see vestiges of myself in her. I dug into her past as an overseer, and it's one of the reasons why I truly find the system in place as reprehensible as it is. She's arrogant with a god-complex, but at least she inflicts onto herself what she does to other. Does it justify her actions? No. But at least she's not hypocritical. she will come to see the right path in time. In terms of combat capability, that eye of her is terrifying. Unimaginable pain will be wrought on anyone who gazes on her judgemental eye, before they turn into a thrall of her own volition. Her capability in flow is not to be trifled with.

No additional notes.

Femurman

He's like a strange hybrid between the go-getter annoying harassment attitude of Aziz, and the skirt chasing tendencies of Hayato. I've seen him get put into the dirt by the strongest men and women in the city, only for him to just get up after a few hours and put some dirt in his wounds, walking off to ogle some poor woman on the sidewalk. I won't lie. He is a bit fascinating. "Nuisance for hire" is an apt description. He's incredibly hard to put down, and his physical attributes are astounding. He's a bit stupid, but, there are worse things to be than stupid. Still though, I'd rather not encounter him.

Addendum: Why is he called Femurman?

Xana Redsilk

I believe that statistically speaking, 1 in 3 sex crimes have something to do with her. Always relishing in excess, lust and chaos. She doesn't care about how many lives she ruins. Red in complexion, but blue in spirit, as they say. I've tried to dismantle some of her sex trafficking rings, but they just don't stop popping up--like the head of a hydra. It'd be extremely difficult for me to even get close to her as well, due to her mind altering properties--not to mention her location's always closely guarded. Don't look her in the eyes, I've seen many become willing prey under her baleful gaze. Is redemption possible for her? Yes. But she'd have to put in overtime.

No additional notes.

Void's Servant

Who? Err, I believe I've seen him babbling something mad in an alleyway once. There is a darkness I smell from deep within him though. Not much else to say. The area he frequents seems to have frequent monstrous outbreaks though, he might be a symptom of something that lurks there.

No additional notes.

Kyomi, Snow Tail - Crimson Eyes

I don't watch vee-tubers, I simply don't have the time. Nor am I interested. Her fans are a bit rabid. She's at least on one screen everywhere I go. Her temple being located near the smaller vertebrae of the Spines makes it easy for me to spy on her, though her mannequins are always vigilant, no matter what. Despite her peculiarities, I've seen her aura--and she's truly monstrous. She's probably garnered enough worship to blow up a sect. I mean, at least she's not evil. She doesn't seem like the evil type. Annoying, sure, but there are worse things to be. I'd rather be annoying than a soulless killer.

Addendum: I watched one of her streams. She's quite good at this gaming thing. Hm. Okay, maybe this vee-tubing thing is growing on me.

Shukisame, The Death-Descending Monk

Another fighting obsessed madman. I could forgive it if it was directed towards the evil underbellies of the city, but, he just fights and brutalizes those in his path. At least he doesn't target the defenseless. He's a very capable fighter. Not a prodigy by any means, but well trained enough to compete with the best of them. His physicality is top notch, and supplements his fighting style well. Perhaps some kind of unorthodox genius. Not everyone has the willpower to break their body over and over until they become strong enough to compete at the higher echelons. After some research, I will tell no lie, I do empathize with his upbringing, it was similar--which makes me a bit of a hypocrite for chastisting him. I only hope that he sees the light as I did. Strengths used for good and not selfish desires such as... this obsession with fighting.

No additional notes.

Jaki

I don't know much about this one, to be honest. His past seems to be blotted in black ink, but what I do know, is that he's a capable assassin, unfettered by mortality. I believe it's an alchemical technique, but I haven't managed to get a hold on him yet. He's lead multiple high profile assassinations, and countless low profile ones. Perhaps he is a pawn to be moved by the hands of those in the clans, unable to find a redeeming path. Perhaps, a remorseless killer as I once was, relishing in the slaughter. I will see that I learn more about him.

No additional notes.

Madoka

An investigator, a snoop, call her what you want, but her skills are second to none. I'd say they even surpass mine. At least she doesn't spy on me often. I think. I might've seen her once or twice, but I doubt it. She has no reason to watch me, as she keeps to the corrupt high brass of Youdu, but she does elude me often. I wonder what her fighting style is like. Oh well. I'll do some more investigating on her some time, but for now, I'm just glad she does what she can to upset the upper crust.

No additional notes.

Isshin Hanamura

An exorcist who moonlights as a stalker. I will say he doesn't turn his talents onto the innocent, instead targetting the upper crust pustules that form in the rot of excess wealth, but I always feel wary around those who feel nothing after having taken a life. Still though, you cannot deny the young man's skill. A martial artist with a powerful weapon, stealthy, physically gifted with access to numerous techniques that amplify his already strong foundation, it is no surprise he has found success within his field. I steer clear of other stalkers, however. It is a shame he does not devote all his time to exorcisms.

No additional notes.

Maria the Purple Shadow

For a member of the Hellion Mob, she's... not horrible. A bit too much of a life lived in excess, yes, and a bit of a suck-up to the Hellions--but otherwise, there is not much to be said about her. She's not particularly dangerous. She's just a bit of a nuisance. Surprisingly friendly, despite her background. I'm sure she'll find herself on the right path, one where the Hellion Mob doesn't have its talons embedded into her.

No additional notes.

Kouki Kamiya

I don't know much about him either. He seems to have special circumstances surrounding his birth, alongside a legendary technique imbued into his eye. I've heard rumors about his egotistical personality, but that's about it. Surely it can't be that bad right? Probably just some naysayers. Maybe I'll do a check up on him some time. I don't know where he lives though, but nothing eludes me for long.

No additional notes.

Yuki Yuri

There are quite a few Yuki Yuris in the city. I don't know much about this one. A student at the Institute? I don't visit the institute very often. I'm afraid of terrifying the students there. I'd rather not sully the place with my presence.

No additional notes.

Long Zhi Wen

One of the prized geniuses of the institute, he seems to have carved his own niche within his field. One of mortal technologies, which one could imagine would be rather lucrative within this magical city. I cannot deny his brilliance and mental acumen, for when he speaks, he always holds the attention of the audience under captivity effortlessly. I envy that charisma about him. Unfortunately--the man has an arrogant streak. No one's perfect in the city, I suppose. You may say his arrogance is earned, but it is quite grating to hear him speak so lowly to others when I believe he has a duty to improve conditions in the city instead of hoarding all that wealth. I should investigate into his Rising Star Temple, but it doesn't seem particularly malevolent yet.

No additional notes.

Kenshin Go

I don't have much of an ear for music, but I truly do enjoy hearing him play. He speaks his emotions clearly through his instrument, the yearning, the humility, the earnestness. A welcome addition to the Institute, I feel. While not outwardly expressive, I can see the passion in his teaching. His students seem to be drawn to him like moths to a flame. It's not often such a laidback, skilled and down to earth teacher shows up in the Institute. He's quite the natural in that regard. In terms of technique, he seems to have mastered his instrument, not much unlike the legendary kenshi and martial artists of Youdu. The conductions channeled through his instrument wield immense versatility and are capable of handling any spirit he comes across. My opinion of him is nothing but positive.

Addendum: Perhaps I should visit the mortal world, get one of these 'music tapes'. A band called "Yes" seems to have come up multiple times when I was listening in.

Joe White

Love his food. Great man. Wish more people were like him.

No additional notes.

Yamata no Mizuki

An unassuming vendor of medicines at first glance, I had quite a favorable opinion of her until I investigated further into her background. Her little apothecary is a cover for her dealings in opium with connections to the Hellions and the Redlight, a rather dark secret for someone who is supposed to be versed in medicine. Those who take advantage of the vulnerable and suffering addicts of the Devil Moon cannot be allowed to walk freely, lest the cycle of addiction continues forever. I find myself unable to unearth the breadth of her operations for fear that I cause a great deal of upheaval in the area, and any upheaval will mean that the innocent will bear the brunt of the violence. I've begun to thwart a few of her small scale drug trades under her nose, but I suspect she'll find out soon enough and send assassins after me. Overseers will do nothing here. I have to take matters into my own hands.

No additional notes.

Ren

I can't say I know much about them. A shadowy doctor of the upper crust? It's not my jurisdiction, but maybe there's something more to them. I'll see though.

No additional notes.

Dazai

Quite a few Dazai's in the city, but this one seems to be a housekeeper in the Six Finger Mafia. I know of his past, however, I was there during his rise up the ranks. He was quite infamous for his ability to smash through multiple buildings with the thrust of a palm. It's strange now though, he seems to have taken a backfoot, perhaps he is repenting for his actions during his time in the Mafia? But, then why would he still remain with them? Perhaps it is also a case of loyalty? People are such complicated creatures, I will never know for sure unless I ask the man himself--but I would rather not deal with the mafia again. I hope he has repented for his sins, though. I'd like to believe he has a conscience.

No additional notes.

Shion

The Yahata has a new member? I... don't know much about her, really. She seems like a nice girl, with an interesting ability to... reverse time, or something of that sort--otherwise, not much. I do know that Hayato isn't only a lecher though, and wouldn't recruit just anyone, even if they were of the opposite gender. There's more to her than meets the eye. We'll have to see though.

Lady Yor

I don't really have much to say about the Six-Finger Mafia and their less than favorable standing with the public, but Kuro's servant, Lady Yor seems to be an exception to the norm. She is incredibly sweet, from what I've seen. On many occasions, during my jaunts through the Devil Moon, I've seen her handing out sweets to children. Candies, pastries, little cakes, you name it, I'm surprised her shop hasn't went under multiple times over. I have a soft spot for children, so seeing such virtue in the Devil Moon makes my soul feel lighter. I'll keep an eye on her. I would rather not see her get harmed by the Hellions.

Logan Ace

I don't know much about the young man, but he is a surveyor. His investigative skills are nothing to scoff at, just as good as mine, along with being wielder of destructive force--I believe the technique is Gamma Energy Conduction. He seems to be in a bit of hot water with the Hellions as well. We do share quite a few similarities. Perhaps, we'll meet one day. I hope I don't scare him off.

Iori

I find myself having a lot more sympathy for her than I should. Raised in our respective criminal organizations, being forged in the chaos and slaughter that takes place, it is natural that those conditions would warp the morals and the worldview of children. Not of our own volitions, we became butchers--but we began to relish in the constantly bloodshed we have created. We cannot allow ourselves to stray down into this path any further. I was fortunate enough to find repentance, to change and make amends. Her mind has been tainted by the tantalizing whispers of misanthropy, only falling deeper off the trail to enlightenment. Regardless on my thoughts on her, she is an incredibly gifted combatant. Her bladework is nothing short of masterful, with invisible slashes rending everything around her into bloody chunks. There is a reason why she's racked up so many bodies--she is nothing short of an instrument of destruction. But all weapons eventually dull before they are laid down to rest for good. I hope she finds peace.

Hajun

Vulgar, and trouble seems to follow him at every turn. Infamous in the The Devil Moon for getting into constant fights with practically everyone. Last I heard of him, he joined up with Hayato. Another truly talented fighter, with access to Consummate Self Incarnation. A physical monster with strength that most wouldn't even dream of wrapping their heads around to understand. I think many people should just learn to leave others alone--not many people, if any, came out alive after a skirmish with him. However, as violent and crude as he is, all men are capable of redeeming themselves. I can see a spark of goodness in him that appears once in a blue moon. He just needs to keep feeding that fire. I hope Hayato reins him in.

Shinka, the Chimera Queen

Do Chimera feel the same morality and emotions people do? Or are they irredeemable monsters? I want to believe in the former, but, the mountain of corpses and destruction she leaves behind makes it difficult to defend that position. I don't know much about her, she's fiercely guarded by an army of Chimera--but I'll get to the bottom of this mystery. Maybe there's hope to be found in a situation like hers.
