Lance Character Story - Favorite Place
Rui: Oi… You said we were going out to eat, why are we at a club. I’m going home.
Lance: I owed a lot to the owner when I did my investigation here, so I come here occasionally.
The food is delicious, I’m sure you’ll like it.
Shizuru: I’m fine with anything, as long as there’s alcohol.
Rui: Sigh…
Lance: Haha, It would be nice if the leader can have some fun too. It’s surprisingly an interesting place.
You can enjoy not only drinks, but also dance and music. And most importantly, you can talk with different people here.
Rui: … It’s a pain.
Woman A: Uhm~ Are you three drinking together?
Rui: ……
Lance: Yes, we are.
Woman B: There’s three of us too, would you like to join and have a drink with us?
Rui: ……………
Lance: ….Sorry, but I have other commitments for today.
I was thinking if you three come here often? If we meet again, let me be the one to invite you instead.
Woman C: Huh~, really?! That’s a deal!
Lance: Of course, see you then!
Shizuru: …Heh?
Lance: Did you need something?
Shizuru: No, I just noticed you’re good at handling the ladies.
Lance: … Maybe? For me, I talk to both male and female normally, regardless of gender.
Shizuru: Well, it’s a shame you turned them down. They all looked pretty cute.
Lance: Ah.. Normally, I would have accepted their offer, but also in a way to get more information out of them. Isn’t that right, Leader?
Rui: … I appreciate the concern. [1]
Lance: This is a genuine question but… Isn’t it hard to be so anti-social all the time? [2]
Rui: Not really… More importantly, let’s go eat and head back home. I wanna play some games.
Lance: You’re right. Okay, let’s order some pizza!
Shizuru: Haha. I guess your love for pizza never changes even in clubs.
Translation notes:
[1] Rui said お気遣い感謝感謝 (oki zukai kansha kansha) which is to express gratitude for their consideration, Rui also says this when doing exploration. I tried translating it into something simple that matches his speech style while still keeping it respectful.
[2] Lance used the word 人嫌い (hito kirai) which means “disliking people” or better yet “anti-social” which explains to why Rui doesn’t like talking to people.
