I, for some reason, receive an insane amount of anonymous messages that ask why I blocked someone. Since that apparently matters to many people, I made a brief list as to why I may have blocked you to save us both the headache.

  • Basic DNI
    • I made a clarification list about what I personally consider to be a Basic DNI. Everyone has different opinions as to what it means, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to make it.
  • Discourse focused account
    • I truly don't mind if you engage i discourse from time to time. It would be hypocritical of me as I do, as well. However, discourse centered accounts are tiring.
      • This includes constant shipcourse. I'm very open about being anti censorship and anti harassment, and believe that fiction's affect on reality is very nuanced. I truly never mind having genuine discussions with people who have differing views, but there is a difference between that and discourse/arguing.
  • SHEDTWT accounts
    • I don't particularly care if you have a side account dedicated to it. I do not support it but I can not stop you. I would just rather not see it.
  • Queer exclus
    • I'm proqueer and do not care about the labels, flags, or pronouns people use. I myself use many that seem conflicting. I just wouldn't get along with people who do care and seek out to harm those they disagree with. However, if you disagree but are respectful towards others, I don't mind!
  • An argument
    • If we got into an argument and it was going nowhere, I blocked you. It's really that simple. I do not wish to interact with you. I also tend to block people in the close circle of those I've gotten into spats with.
  • You're a double
    • I'm very heavily nonsharing with Joel. I yumeship to cope with a traumatic relationship, and sometimes interacting with other yumeshippers isn't good for me. I block doubles for my comfort. This doesn't mean i wish you any ill will, and I in fact wish you the best!

I don't see why these are problems for some people, as everyone should be utilizing the block button for whatever they see fit. The argument "We could have been friends if not for you blocking me" has never made sense to me, because no, we could not have. That is why I blocked you.
