@Elske and @Ivy de Pauw are introducing the long awaited βMeet-the-Dutchβ theme in April. What better month than April in which the Dutch are celebrating Kingβs Day on the 26th and all of the Netherlands will be coloured Orange?
Now, of course we are all human beings and similar in so many things. But Dutch words that spell similarly in English often have totally different meanings. Take e.g. the names Joke and Lies β common female names. Ready to meet some of these similar-but-different words? Ready to improve on your Dutch language skills? You can adopt a date and word, maybe write about your associations with the word in your post. And Elske and Ivy will be doing so for the Dutch word.
