This Privacy Policy explains how Monke ("the Bot") collects, uses, and protects your data when you interact with it on Discord.

1. Data We Collect

To provide our cross-server "phone call" functionality and maintain a safe environment, we collect and store the following specific data points in our secure database:

Discord User IDs and Guild (Server) IDs: We store these specifically when a user or server is globally banned from using the Bot by our moderation team.
Message Metadata (Temporary): When a call is active between two servers, we temporarily track the ID of the messages sent, along with the original Author's User ID and Guild ID.

2. How We Use Your Data

Core Functionality: We use your Discord display name and avatar temporarily to mask webhooks so your messages appear correctly in the receiving server.
Trust & Safety: The temporarily stored Message Metadata is strictly used to facilitate the "Report to Mods" feature. If a message is reported, we use this data to identify the original sender so our moderation team can take appropriate action.
Abuse Prevention: User IDs and Guild IDs are checked against our internal ban list to prevent bad actors from using the service.

3. Data Retention

Message Tracking: We only keep the metadata for the last 5,000 messages sent globally across the Bot. Once this limit is reached, the oldest data is automatically and permanently overwritten. We do not keep a permanent chat log.
Ban Records: User IDs and Guild IDs placed on our ban list are stored indefinitely unless an appeal is granted and the ID is manually removed by a developer.

4. Third-Party Services

We use regular expressions to filter outgoing messages and ensure they only contain approved media links (specifically Tenor and Giphy). By interacting with these GIFs, your viewing data may be subject to the respective privacy policies of those services. We do not sell or share any of your data with third-party advertisers or companies.
