Good evening Brendan, I hope you can help me with my problem, I'm very computer savvy but I've been having a problem for the past year that I can't correct.  When I click ctrl-p to downloaded pdf's a 1/4 of the time they only downloaded a single page, I've downloaded 150-200 page pdf's with no troubles but I downloaded small 2-5 page pdf,s and only a single page downloaded at a time, I'm using windows 10 on a lenovo thinkpad, this has happened at both commerical and gov't websites, is it my computer or the website or do I have to add file correction, if you have any idea how to correct it I would appreciate the help, thank you and have a good nite

Did you email me because I'm in the New York Amateur Computer Club? Diving right into a problem like that without explaining a connection is a very strange way to start a conversation with a stranger. If we have talked one-on-one before, I don't recall it.

Then forget it, that's why I don't like the new world, everybody wants something in return but don't want to help anyone.

Are you serious?!

You emailed me without reminding me of any connection we have, and I still don't recall any, and instead of clarifying you are lashing out at me and at the world.

I suppose doctors and lawyers and engineers should just answer all questions that come their way, the way you put it.

I didn't say I won't help. I asked who you are and why you didn't explain before asking a question as a stranger.

You came across that way, I've been in EMS 45 yrs, fire for 34 yrs. and  try to help people unlike all the lawyers out there that say no fee if I don't win but when the do, they charge 50% plus expenses, all I wanted to knew if at all possible is there a problem with my computer or is it the website I'm accessing, I'm pretty well into IT, in fact I'm my fire dept webteam and I'be been running all the zoom meetings the past three months, if it would be easier to talk then email, my cell number is 917-...-...., if you can help I would appreciate it

I'm sorry, but the misunderstanding in this interaction is on you.

  1. You emailed me with no prior clear connection established between us on the Internet.
  2. You asked a question without first stating if we had any connection.

Stating that we HAVE NO CONNECTION would have been perfectly reasonable, or "I saw a useful page on your web site." I wouldn't have refused to help you unless I had no useful response to your problem. If this conversation was started face to face in public because you overheard something I said, then THAT would be the connection.

You started this conversation on the wrong foot and then you continued to be impolite.

Now regarding the problem you described: You say "Ctrl-P to download a PDF" -- do you mean in a browser (what browser?) you are printing to a PDF printer driver that's installed in your desktop? Does the problem happen repeatedly on specific web pages and never on other pages? I know that some web pages that have stories or documents are designed so poorly that the browser's Print function fails for them -- usually across all browsers. Your best bet would be to look for extensions in your browser's extension catalog that address alternate ways of trying to grab the content of a page and save it locally.
