dont flame me for using my rentrys as journals instead of decor pls. i cant talk irl and want somewhere to talk.
im the weirdest girl you'll ever meet. besides that i dont have a prefered name. enjoy the yaps ive compiled over the year <3.
Emma
something i love about emma frost is that no matter what she does or says, its for other people. this is what makes me relate to emma so much as well. emma often says stuff that can make her sound selfish and mean, which gives people the impression that she IS selfish and mean. you really have to be willing to understand emma to know that she's just defensive after repeatedly being hurt over and over again. despite her words, she is always helping and giving to others, whether it be the xmen, the cuckoos, or mutantkind.
emma was dedicated to becoming an xman. for the first time, to her, it felt like she found somewhere she belonged. she spent years redeeming herself. overtime, she discovered it wasnt just about being called an xmen and having people who accept her. it was about helping people, that is what she loved to do. so now, its not about being an xman. its about being trusted. its about being a leader. its about being a hero. <3 thats why i love emma frost dearly.
Scott & Madie
i hate how people twist scott’s relationship with madelyne and jean like yes he knew madelyne wasnt jean but he married her because she looked like jean, who was dead at the time (which is weird but its better than cheating on your wife for someone who looks like her). him marrying madelyne was to show that he’s trying to move on with his life and the death of jean grey.
eventually the editorial team for marvel decided “hey even tho we told everyone jean is dead and shes never coming back deal with it, let’s bring jean grey back!” which messed the plans of chris claremont, the writer for scott at the time. claremont wanted scott to leave the xmen to live with his wife and child, so he could end scotts story as a good man. the editorial team decided fuck you scott and forced him to leave his family so he can rejoin the xmen and get back together with jean grey. rlly not his fault.
so later on in uncanny xmen #221 in september of 1987, mister sinister is introduced as a villain. with his introduction, madelyne pryor is reintroduced as a clone of madelyne made by mister sinister, so that her uncanny resemblance to jean isnt a coincidence. ANYWAYS with her reintroduction, she becomes a villain seeking revenge on scott for abandoning her and her son
conclusion, scott didnt have ill intentions when marrying madelyne like people try to say he did, and he truly loved madelyne. him abandoning his family for the xmen and jean was in fact messed up tho and we can bash him for that :)
obviously im talking about the comics not xmen 97
Gotg/Mantis
the reason i don't really like the gotg comics is because mantis is my absolute favorite member of the gotg, and in the comics it just feels like they use her to progress other characters' stories. for example, her becoming a sex worker & not long after her only purpose being to help swordsman rejoin the avengers. it just feels like she only shows up for someone else. like you can hardly find her in any comic covers or in any comics in general cause thats the only reason they use her. she's never really been a member of the gotg until recently if you ask me. and i really, really dont like the celestial madonna shit. at least not in the comics. i believe comic writers are trying to retcon the gotg to somewhat match the movies cause theyre a MESS
theres also a HUGE problem with the gotg's dynamic in the comics. it's like the xmen but 10x worse. at least the xmen arent always fucking arguing with each other. in the gotg comics, theyre either making out with each other or fighting. hardly do they ever work together. like, starlord literally made mantis use her empathy powers to manipulate the members into joining the team, and once they found out, half of them fucking left
i'd also like to add that despite me loving the movies and hating the comics, it irks me when rivals players talk about the gotg but dont mention adam warlock at all. and even though he barely shows up in the 3rd movie its still implied that he joined the gotg at the end. #whatarewemissing
Dazzler
like to imagine that dazzler is a punk-rock singer... yes i know she's pop. idc. she was punk in earth-1610. i relate to dazzler so so much because she hides her mutant abilities from the world and tries to be perfect for everyone. i can connect this to me being a high-masking neurodivergent person. im also pretty sure she's a neurodivergent too. idk i forgot..
i really wish dazzler showed up more in the newer comics. can't really find dazzler anywhere in the new era of xmen sighhh... i see pixie and nature girl more than i see dazzler, and they're both niche!
funfacts about dazzler cause i love her
(and also cause she might come out in rivals so the larps can stay educated)
- alison has the ability to transform sound into light, with the sole exception of her own voice.
- the first time alison's mutant ability manifested, she was singing at a dance.
- rogue absolutely hates dazzler but loves her music. ironic considering rogue is my favorite xman.
- alison's father didn't approve of her becoming a singer and wanted her to take an education route. in result, alison ended up singing and going to law school!
- she ended up pursuing music instead of law...lol
- she can make basically holograms of people out of light
- dazzler is loved by almost everyone in marvel!
- dazzler is a somewhat private person despite the fact that she's a popstar. love dat.
- she dated warren worthington, whom she also made a song about after breaking up.

Sofia Yong
Sofia is a newer member of the X-Men, created by Gail Simone in 2024. Her first appearance was in Uncanny X-Men (2024) #1 written by Gail Simone (Which I own !!). Sofia is like... a baby X-Man! Sofia's power is called Hyper-Focus. Her power gives her the ability to master any skill, but only for a minute. She is often affiliated with the Outliers and the X-Men. The Outliers are a group of 4 young mutants (excluding their pets) recruited by Rogue. I like to call the Outliers Rogue's children because of this. The group consists of Calico (Becca), Deathdream (Hotoru), Jitter (Sofia Yong), and Ransom (Valentin Correa).
Before Sofia became a member of the X-Men and the Outliers, she lived a not-so peaceful life in Singapore. At school, Sofia was heavily bullied and beat for her severe stutter and her ability to get quizes done in a minute or less. One day, Sofia got fed up with their bullying and used her powers to learn how to fight them back. Sofia had trouble controlling her ability, and ended up leaving one of the bullies disabled, which she feels bad about.

Madelyne Pryor What if...
madelyne pryor’s what if comic released recently, and its garbage. theres this series in marvel called “what if…” and its basically a bunch of one-shots about characters if they took another path in life. the reason madelyne’s sucks so much is because… they really didnt change that much? the only thing they changed was scott staying with madelyne instead of leaving her for jean. anyways, when you summarize it, you just get
madelyne dies and her existence revolves around scott summers
oh, and jean grey dies too!
which is really what already happens in the main series (aka the 616 universe), since writers really hate madelyne i guess? theres one writer who wanted to give madelyne her own story, and it was the person who wrote magik. thats it. i dont believe madelyne will be getting her own solo run anytime soon, unfortunately, since every writer whos had the chance to write a storyline for her has decided she needs to die!
update!!!!!!! madie and magik are finally getting their own solo series a couple months after writing this :) its called x-orcists!
