Nebula Probes Guide

Probes formula

  • Probe loses are identical for all mission types
  • Probes success formula
    probes_defense = [target_land x 20] OR [target_probes + target_land x (1 or 4)] (4 for aggressive probes, 1 for spy missions)
    success_rate = ([sent_probes / probes_defense] OR 20%) x target_shields_factor

Peace relation lowers the maximum success rate to 50%

Probes effectiveness

  • Rob mission - robs up to 10% target's bank at once (10 gold per 1 probe sent is the maximum)
    Note: robs below 5 gold/probe are typically not considered to be worth the probe loss
  • Arson Residences and Sabotage Powerplants missions destroy 1 building per 1,500 probes sent, with a maximum of 5% of the targeted buildings destroyed

Robbing food kingdoms

  • Food exits newbie mode with 1 tick income (basically nothing)
  • Once the round begins, they will accumulate money naturally
  • Food kingdoms can only be robbed while you have less than 1,000 land

Passive income

Probes generate income, which declines as round progress.

Probes do not generate income during newbie mode

single_probe_income = universe_land_total x 25 / universe_probes_total, where number 25 declines to 15 in span of 21 days (when round is over)

The initial probe income at the start of the round is typically unknown as it depends on how many probes players produce during newbie mode. However, probe income during the past two rounds started around 4.5 gold/probe and decreased to about 1.5 gold/probe.

Earning Victory Points (VP)

Certain probe missions on non-food kingdoms will earn you different amounts of VP:

  • Spy missions
    • Targets with less land than you: 1 VP
    • Targets with equal or greater land: 2 VP
  • Aggressive missions
    • Targets with less land than you: 2 VP
    • Targets with equal or greater land: 4 VP

Probes missions during a war have double VP gains (2, 4 or 8 VP per mission).
