Uzuki (Deremasu) Light Booster Physical

Uzuki's name in Japanese uses the very rare ヅ (dzu) character

Uzuki (Deremasu) Character Reference
Uzuki (Deremasu) Pre-Rework

I thought we'd never see them again, but here we are. The Idols are back and they've been reworked extensively enough that I'm going to treat them like they're new Characters. I'm including a link to the old Skill Reference Spreadsheet in case you want to see how they changed.

Uzuki is a Light Single/Multi-Target Physical/Magic Attacker/Support. All of her Buffs increase Physical and Magic Attack, her Damage changes Type depending on which defense is lower, she gains a second hit or self TP if there is only 1 Enemy, and she shreds both defenses. She kind of does everything except Tanking.

Because Uzuki is such a generalist, I think we will probably see her show up in lots of Light teams. However, I'm not sure she's going to be core in any particular team, except maybe Light Multi-Target Mages for now.

Remember to level her UE to 260 since it has TP Boost.

  • Limited (Collab)

Pros:

  • Seems to comfortably fit into any Light team, even if not optimal
  • Might be closer to core on Light Multi-Target Mages in the short to mid term

Cons:

  • Squishy
    • Stands in front of Kururu, making her a bit of a nuisance for Light Multi-Target Mage team building
  • Likely to be powercrept as more specialized characters are released

Recommendation: Medium-high priority. I recommend waiting until we know what element Christmas Misora will be before deciding to pull. We also have the end of year PriFes coming up soon, which everyone is hyping up. If you have close to 3 sparks, you're probably safe to pull without thinking.

Rin (Deremasu) Water Tank Physical

Rin

Rin (Deremasu) Character Reference
Rin (Deremasu) Pre-Rework

Rin seems to be geared towards keeping your team alive, while providing some utility. She has a good amount of shred on her UB and S1+, as well as a unique Debuff on her S2+, which causes Enemies to take up to 1.24x more Damage if they have 12 Debuffs on them. All of her Damage and Debuffs that affect Enemies have 400 Range, which is good but not amazing. She might not be able to hit all Enemies if they are more spread out. Because she has Multi-Target Debuffs, she kind of fills the previously empty role of dedicated Water Multi-Target Tank that isn't cope or a dead Pirate Anna. This is useful, and you should consider her if Christmas Misora isn't in an element that needs you attention more.

She has a Freeze on UB and a Bind on S2+, as well as being very tanky with her huge Absorb Barrier on UB (it's 2.33x the size of Ameth's Barrier, for comparison). She looks like she will be a good stall Character in PvP, but I think this might be a bit overblown. Stuns and big Damage should kill her the same as other Tanks.

  • Limited (Collab)

Pros:

  • Her huge self Absorb Barrier on UB might be annoying in PvP
  • Taunt
  • Shred + unique Damage Received Debuff
  • Kind of the Tank Water Multi-Target Mages were looking for

Cons:

  • Bad timing with upcoming banners
  • Collab Characters may be intentionally powercrept to help newcuties

Recommendation: Medium priority. Rin is definitely better than she used to be, but I don't know if she warrants a pull as strongly as Uzuki. Water Multi-Target Mages will appreciate her, but I can't see Cygames making them dependent on a Collab character to function optimally. If you get Uzuki late, finishing the spark for Rin makes sense. An early Uzuki pull should prompt some serious thinking on your part.

Mio (Deremasu) Fire Attacker Magic

Mio

Mio (Deremasu) Character Reference
Mio (Deremasu) Pre-Rework

Mio is our freebie this time, and I think she's pretty decent. She's a mostly selfish DPS who only heals Allies and provides a permanent Magic Attack Buff on her S2+. She is built like Misora with 3 Damage instances on her UB and S1+, which target the three nearest Enemies. Her Skills scale with the HP of all other Allies, and she reaches her maximum bonuses at 400,000 HP.

Notably, Mio stands behind Lind, so Yui skippers can feel a bit better about their choice if Mio ends up being core.

  • Welfare (Collab)

Pros:

  • Stands behind Lind
  • Welfare

Cons:

  • 264 Stamina invested daily to farm her

Recommendation: Farm her while the Event is up. She should be quite useful, even if she just ends up being cope for other Fire Mages you are missing.

Winter Chieru (UE Only) Water Booster Physical

She wrote WINTER on her tit so you wouldn't forget what season it is while you're "listening" to her

Winter Chieru Character Reference

How can you give a Character UE without giving them UE? Let's find out.

S1+ gains the tiniest amount of Damage and also gains the tiniest amount of shred. The Damage increase is ~5% and the shred is only 37 at Lv. 371. Stats-wise she gains some Physical Attack and TP Regen, which has to be Cygames trolling us.

It feels bad even equipping this, but you will deal slightly more Damage if you do. Leave at UE30 for now; you'll probably never need to go higher.

She's still incredibly good despite basically not getting a UE.

UE Stats:

  • Physical Attack
  • TP Regen

Christmas Lailael (UE Only) Fire Breaker Magic

X.Lailael

Christmas Lailael Character Reference

Poor Lailael also had her UE run through the wood chipper before it was given to her. Just like Winter Chieru, Christmas Lailael's S1+ gains slightly more Damage and a small increase to her shred. The stats she gains are Magic Attack and Magic Defense. Even though the Magic Attack increase is not that large, her UB scales very well with Magic Attack, so you might consider going above UE30 for more Damage if you ever need it.

Another one to park at UE30.

UE Stats:

  • Magic Attack
  • Magic Defense

Christmas Io (UE Only) Light Debuffer Magic

X.Io

Christmas Io Character Reference

S1+ increases the Magic Attack Debuff by ~40%, increases the Magic Attack Buff for the Ally with Devil's Kiss by 33% and also increases their Magic Critical Damage Buff by 2%. On paper it doesn't look bad, but I don't think it makes Christmas Io any more useful. Light Mages aren't in the business of powering up one Character like Fire Physical does, so Christmas Io seems to be without a home at the moment.

UE adds Magic Critical and Magic Defense. I don't think she really needed either, but at least Magic Critical helps protect you against bad RNG if you ever have to use her.

Leave at UE30, but you might want to go higher if an RNG timeline uses her and there aren't alternatives. This is very unlikely at the moment.

UE Stats:

  • Magic Critical
  • Magic Defense
