Whatever You Want, As Much As You Like

Kokona: Now then, what should we get?

Kathrina: Suddenly you’re full of energy. Weren’t you dying of hunger just a moment ago?

Kokona: I still am! And I can’t wait to eat something tasty!

Kathrina: Goodness. That’s kind of simple-minded… But it’s so like you.

Kathrina: Though, looking at these photos in the menu, I get what you mean.

Kokona: Right?! Everything looks so delicious!~

Kathrina: By the way, most of the dishes seem to be Italian. Is it something like a specialty restaurant?

Kokona: I guess so. I remember someone in our class saying it was pretty popular.

Kokona: Wait, Kathrina-chan, didn’t you choose this restaurant because of that?

Kathrina: No? I just saw it and thought we should check it out. What made you think I did?

Kokona: I thought that maybe talking to Yae-chan and Sasuga-chan gave you an idea.

Kokona: They seemed to be having lots of fun at that Italian Fair, right? So I thought maybe you wanted to try some Italian dishes too.

Kathrina: I wasn’t thinking about anything like that… But now that you’ve said it, I do want to try them…

Kokona: Yeah… Actually, now I’m starting to want to try them too.

Kathrina: Looks like we’ve made the right choice…!

Kathrina: We’re really lucky! Now we should go ahead and enjoy Italy as much as Sasuga and Niizuma do.

Kokona: Now I’m getting excited! Alright, let’s order different dishes and share them!

Kathrina: Good idea! Let’s see what we can get.

Kokona: Of course, we can’t miss out on pizza and pasta…

Kokona: And I've been dying to eat doria* and lasagne for a while now!

Kathrina: I’d like to have a Hamburg steak… Oh, that chicken dish also looks appetizing.

Kathrina: And what’s this? Arrosticini?.. It’s made from lamb meat, huh? Sounds good.

Kokona: Kathrina-chan, you’re only looking at meat dishes!

Kokona: You should eat some vegetables too, you know? Look, this salad looks nice.

Kathrina: H-hey, no need to tell me that. I’ve just been thinking of ordering it later!

Kokona: Ahaha! Oh, by the way, should we get some soup? They say if you wanna get the best out of Italian cuisine, you really should try minestrone!

Kathrina: Corn soup is also hard to leave out, but… Really, here’s minestrone.

Kokona: Why don’t we order both?

Kathrina: You’re right… We can just share with each other then…

Kathrina: Wait, hold on a sec.

Kokona: What’s up?

Kathrina: Will we really be able to eat it all? It’s just the two of us, you know.

Kokona: Kathrina-chan… You’re worrying too much!

Kathrina: B-but…

Kokona: We agreed to enjoy Italy as much as the girls do, right?

Kokona: So today we should go all out and order everything we want!

Kathrina: Come to think of it, the prices are pretty affordable. The portions also seem to be moderate, so maybe we’ll be able to eat it…

Kathrina: Alright. Looks like this really is a perfect opportunity. Let’s enjoy it to the fullest!

Kokona: Right! So, are we ready?

Kathrina: Yes!

Kokona & Kathrina: Excuse us, we’d like to order!

Kathrina: Ah… I can’t eat anymore…

Kokona: I’m so full I can’t even move…

Kathrina: We should have thought it through before ordering…

Kokona: Kathrina-chan, you got so excited, you even ordered a dessert…

Kathrina: Yeah, that tiramisu was a mistake… Who could have thought it would be this big…

Kokona: But everything was really great… We ended up eating it all, even though we thought we wouldn’t manage.

Kathrina: Yeah… But there still are dishes we haven’t tried, so let’s come here together with everyone next time.

Kokona: Sure! I’ll be looking forward to it!

Kathrina: Only. Next time, I’m not gonna order this much…

TL note

* In fact, doria isn’t an Italian dish. While in Japan it’s believed to belong to European cuisine, it was invented in Japan in the 1930s by a Swiss chef Saly Weil who worked at the Hotel New Grand in Yokohama prefecture (actually, different sources even have different spelling of his name, so I’m not sure which one is correct, used the one I could find in Google Books). There’s a number of theories regarding the origin of the name of the dish, but none of them are officially confirmed. The most widespread theory claims it was named after naval admiral Andrea Doria, who lived in the 16th century and was a member of the prestigious Doria family of Genoa.
