NPD DICTIONARY quick runthrough of both common and rare terms used in context of narcissistic personality disorder!
◜ npd - a shortened term for narcissistic personality disorder.
narcissist - someone with npd. the official definition of narcissist does not correspond with this, this definition is made to reduce harm to narcissists. see more
narc - shortened version of narcissist. this term is used both derogatorily and non derogatorily, make sure to know that the narcissists you are calling this are comfortable with the term.
egodivergent - another term for someone with npd. many people may feel uncomfortable using narcissist/narc and so this is an alternate word to use.
egotypical - another term for people without npd.
npd high - a period of time where a narcissists symptoms get more severe, such as delusional grandeur becoming more obvious. this can be triggered by external causes or a spontaneous event.
npd crash/low - a period of time, usually after a high, where a narcissist experiences severe feelings of things like self-hatred, fear, paranoia and anger. a narcissists ego usually becomes extremely fragile during this time.
◟ supply - a supply, specifically in context to npd, is a person, events, or comments that boost a narcissists ego and help reassure a narcissist of worth/need. A supply as comments would be things like compliments and flirting, while a supply as a person would be someone who's supply actions are more affective and meaningful to the narcissist.
