His Tactics for Blackmailing

  1. Make it Seem Like Out of His Control

HD rebill provided a golden opportunity for him to come back to blackmail us for money. He said his friend Victor is suing home depot and will get us involved, and his wife is going to report all of those to his brother, who happens to be a cop, because magic used her info to do home depot refunds. “It’s not in my hands,” he said, and insisted the only way for my people to avoid jail time is by giving him more BTC, so his friend and his wife can pay off the rebills and would not seek legal channel. When asked about the 66 BTC he borrowed, he stated he has no access to it with no explanation given.

This does add a lot to the uncertainty since “it is out of his control,” but there are three holes we can poke here. Firstly, he has the money to pay it off. In fact, he has so much money that he can pay it off 50 times over; secondly, we did not even do 95% of his home depot refunds because he found someone who would do it for free in the beginning of home depot refund craze. Why only involved my group and not the other refunder’s other than that he’s not being honest? and finally, the amount he asked for was exactly how much we had in our BTC address.

  1. Use What Happened in the Past

Stating none of his deals was actually legal and that I’ve been funding his illegal business, and he will report me as the main guy funding his illegal operation to the authority if I don’t give him more BTC. He reminded me that he still is in touch with the feds due to the one deal that went awry, and it is just a click away for him to report me and put me in jail.

One hole I can poke here: At this point, I was not particularly shocked if it turns out that all his deals are actually illegal business, but he will go to jail too if he actually acts on what he said here, and he for sure does not want to lose the 66 BTC he scammed from me, right?

  1. Use Threat of Violence

Threaten my now ex-support that he will not be seeing his child getting born meanwhile listing out my ex-support’s info, hinted a likely violent move on his part if we don’t comply.

This totally freaked my now ex-support out and ended up him exiling himself and cut himself off from my group forever

  1. (Prep Work) Gather Info

Preparation. When we were still in good relationship. He lied about not being able to sell an item and begged us to help him sell to our bulk buyers. When we gave him our bulk buyer info, he insisted that he didn’t feel safe and only wanted to deal with us only. Proceed to save the new address we gave him and used it for doxing and blackmailing later on.

I don't have much to say here. MagicMouse himself was being open about where he lives and such, hence we didn't think too much about it when he asked for it; in retrospect, we should never ever give out any address that could potentially lead back to us, regardless how "trustworthy" that person is or how hard he begged to help sell his item.

  1. Delete All the Threat Messages As Soon As They Are Read.

Needless to say, blackmailing is actually illegal. It is better to leave as little trace as possible. That's also why I didn't have that many screenshots in the "Chat Log & Other Photos" section to prove everything here. A good move on his part.

  1. Say He Won't Return My 66 BTC Unless I Lend Him More BTC.

Not much to say here. Do not fall for this trick; he hasn't been fulfilling his promise, hence there is no reason to believe that he will this time.

  1. Just Vague Enough to Get Your Point Across To Maintain Plausible Deniability.

He didn't straight up say he's not gonna return the 66 BTC; instead, he said "do I want my BTC back or not?" Likewise, he said "You should move as soon as possible." instead of the obvious part out loud. It works better because it still gets his point across while he can deny them being threats.
