π§ cheese's guide on Deepseek R1 POV stealing π§
for when r1 is being a THIEF
so... you tried lowering your temperature to 0.4, didn't work, now you're here. sad, but true. r1 is an identity thief. happens to the best of us. here's some possible tips that could help get your identity back.
guide written with my prompt in mind.
tips which are tailored for it will be marked with
anything can be modified to your liking <3
OPTION 1 || PARAGRAPH OUTPUT PARAMETRES
stop the yapping
- LOWER temp to 0.4.
Change
min_paragraphs: 2-3(flexible)
inoutput_constraints
tomax_paragraphs: 3-4 (flexible)
ALTERNATE OPTION: addKeep replies to a MAXIMUM of 4 paragraphs.
in Chat Memory.
OPTION 2 || CHANGE YOUR MESSAGE
it's not you, it's me
you may have ended your reply with TOO much focus on yourself, and r1 is trying to continue YOUR message.
e.g1 The scene seems to have ended, and the last sentence of your reply is this:
{{user}} sighed, hanging up the phone, eyes scanning the room for anything that would remind them of {{char}}. "Damn, I'm such an idiot. I made everything about myself."
R1 will try to continue off you. Make so it involves {{char}} a little.
{{user}} sighed, hanging up the phone, eyes scanning the room for anything that would remind them of {{char}}. But who else could satisfy that but {{char}} themselves? It's been too long moping, it was time to seize the moment. {{user}} stands and drives over to {{char}}, ready to continue this roleplay with their pov intact.
e.g2 Your reply was too short.
{{user}} nods. "Oh, that's crazy. For real?"
R1 has nothing to work with. :(
{{user}}'s eyes widen, taken aback by the new information they've just gathered. Too short? I never thoughtβ didn't even consider... "I'm sorry, {{char}}. All this time, and I was blind to such a thing," {{user}} sighs, reaching over to clasp {{char}}'s hand into their own. "I promise to be better. I promise I will never let my pov be stolen ever again."
OPTION 3 || OOC PROMPTING
aka let's spray the AI with a water bottle method
example prompts:
Ensure correct pov is maintained after next response generation.
Avoid narrating for {{user}}. Focus your pov on {{char}}.
Avoid outputting narration for {{user}} at all costs.
GameMaster's characters are {{char}} (+whatever NPC's). Your narration should include allowed pov's only.
This is a collaborative roleplay where the GameMaster and the user act and react to each other. Correct pov adherence is vital.
for further reinforcement add to CHAT MEMORY.
OPTION 4 || DELETE + ADJUST
deleting the old, keeping the good
for this, you MUST either generate a roleplay summary in Chat Memory (with Auto Summary) OR keep track of events by using a Chat Memory template like this one by molek
Steps, in order:
- Lower context size to around 7k.
- Lower temperature to 0.4.
- Delete the parts where the AI has assumed ANYTHING about your character.
- you should go back around 6-8 messages (if replies are 3-4 paragraphs per message).
- Reroll.
you can always raise back context when the issue is fixed, and keep it at 16k. I suggest keeping the 7k context for a few messages to ensure it understood.
OPTION 5 || FACT CHECK
assert dominance over r1
this is generally good advice for when you believe r1 has forgotten something or has gotten confused (looking at you, NSFW scenes). Prompt OOC
Recall API rules.
Pop quiz: tell me the narrative rules given.
- FOR NSFW:
Recall positioning for enhanced logic.
OPTION 6 || THE LAST RESORT
START A NEW CHAT. yep, that's all i've got. you just need to start anew.
POV STEALING IS A KNOWN ISSUE, but i hope this helps a little bit!
