How to Use the Genshin Optimizer
- Go to the Genshin Optimizer.
- Go to the Artifacts tab at the top and upload your Artifacts.
You can do this with a scanner, such as Amenoma or Inventory Kamera, then ⬆️ Upload the .json file as a Database in the Settings tab, or you can select Add New Artifact and Upload Screenshot or Ctrl-V. The website may read your image wrong—you can correct this by manually adjusting information about the artifact such as the set, level, slot, mainstat and substats. If you can't upload an image, manual input is also an option.
- Go to the Characters tab and Add New Character.
- On the Overview tab, you can select your character's Level and Constellation. Scroll down to edit their weapon and weapon level, as well as setting the weapon's passive/stacks.
- Go to the Talents tab and select Talent levels, as well as activating relevant Passive Talents.
- Go to the Team Buffs tab and add the other Characters in your team.
Edit the teammates' stats and gear if they affect the character you're optimising for:
- Level
- Bennett, Sara, Shenhe, Yun Jin
- Constellation
- Bennett C1, C5, and C6; Sara C5 and C6; Gorou C3 and C6; Sucrose C6; Yun Jin C2 and C3
- Weapon
- Bennett/Sara's weapon, Freedom-Sworn, Elegy for the End, Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, Hakushin Ring
- Talents
- Bennett's Elemental Burst, Sara's Elemental Skill, Gorou's Elemental Skill, Yun Jin's Elemental Burst
- Artifacts
- Noblesse Oblige, Viridescent Venerer, Tenacity of the Millelith, Deepwood Memories, Instructor
Listed are examples—this is not an exhaustive list of all teammate factors that can affect character damage.
-
- Tick any Elemental Resonance effects that apply.
- Activate teammates' weapon passives if relevant.
Weapons that can buff your character include, but are not limited to:
- Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers
- Hakushin Ring
- Sapwood Blade
- Elegy for the End
- Freedom-Sworn
- Activate teammates' Artifact Set effects that affect the character you're optimising for.
Teammates' Artifact Sets that can affect your character's damage include, but are not limited to:
- 4p Noblesse Oblige
- 4p Viridescent Venerer
- 4p Tenacity of the Millelith
- 4p Deepwood Memories
- 4p Instructor
- Enable teammates' relevant Talents and Constellation effects.
Teammate Talents and Constellations that can affect your character's damage include, but are not limited to:
- Bennett's Elemental Burst, C1, C5 and C6
- Sucrose's Ascension 1, Ascension 4, and C6
- Kazuha's Ascension 4 and C2
- Gorou's Elemental Skill, C3 and C6
- Sara's Elemental Skill, C5 and C6
- Shenhe's Elemental Skill
- Yun Jin's Elemental Burst, C2 and C3
- Go to the Optimize tab. Select the ⚙️ symbol next to Artifact Set Configuration in order to enable Set Effect Conditionals for sets that require a condition to be met before granting a certain buff e.g. Blizzard Strayer, Lavawalker, Thundersoother, Shimenawa's Reminiscence.
You can also force a 4p Set if needed, such as 4p Noblesse Oblige and Viridescent Venerer where the set bonus effect may be more important than stats, by selecting Exclude All 2-Sets and Exclude All 4-Sets, then only ticking Allow for the 2-Set and 4-Set of the specific Artifact Set you want.
Artifact Set Stacks
Be sure to activate the correct number of stacks on Sets such as Crimson Witch (for example, Diluc and Bennett can get full stacks, but Hu Tao can only get one), Pale Flame and Husk of Opulent Dreams.
- To set energy requirements, go to where it says Build Constraints, select New Stat, choose Energy Recharge%, then type the minimum amount your character needs e.g. 140%.
- Select an Optimization Target.
Picking an Optimization Target
This should be the primary source of the character's DMG e.g. Ayaka's Kamisato Art: Soumetsu Cutting DMG, Xiangling's Pyronado DMG, or Hu Tao's Secret Spear of Wangsheng Charged Attack. For characters with multiple sources of damage distributed throughout their kit, such as Tartaglia or Klee, you can use Multi-Optimization Target Config where you can + Add New Custom Target for their full combo.
- For sustained DPS, select Avg. DMG. Only Optimize for Crit Hit DMG if you are trying to get the biggest single instance of damage possible, such as for a nuke/memeshot/oneshot/"damage showcase". Select either No Reactions or the relevant Reaction if the character gets most of their damage from it.
- Generate Builds.
To speed up the Build generation process, there are a couple of things you can do. In the Main Stat section, you can select only viable Artifact Main Stats, and exclude Main Stats you know won't be viable, such as a DEF% Sands on Ayaka or a Cryo DMG Bonus% goblet on Hu Tao. You can also use the Artifact Level Filter slider to limit the Build generation pool to, for example, only artifacts that are between Level 16 and 20.
