Pastryverse

What is pastryverse?

Pastryverse is a term similar to misceverse/misceanimalis, but instead of revolving around the omegaverse, it revolves around cakeverse.

In short, pastryverse is a term meant for those who perform the dynamics of cakeverse as a lifestyle, but is open to those who have an identity related to it (such as alterhumans.) It is important to note that not all pastries are literally pastries, or even necessarily alterhuman/nonhuman; however, some can be.

Please keep in mind this was coined by a minor, with the help of multiple other minors from calico cove. This isn't inherently NSFW, and is open for all ages, just like misceverse.

This rentry is the revamped version. For the old version, click here.

Dynamics
  • Pastry: Those who have flavors. This includes their flesh, blood, bodily fluids, etc. Everything about a pastry's existence is flavored, and meant to be consumed, but this flavor can only be tasted by patrons/consumers (or some amalgams.) Cakes in fanfiction usually aren't aware they're cakes, but pastries in this universe may be aware of this fact. In some pastryverse universes, pastries may be considered "prey."
  • Patron: Those who "eat" cakes; whether literally or metaphorically. In fanfic, they usually lose their sense of taste to normal food, only able to taste cakes, but patrons in this universe may be able to taste. They usually crave pastries, and in some pastryverse universes, may be considered "predatory." They can also be referred to as consumers.
  • Amalgam: Someone who is a mix of pastry and patron/consumer, or who has mixed characteristics. One who is an amalgam may have flavoring, while also being able to taste and crave pastries. These are not the only possible mix of characteristics, however.
  • Null: Those who are neither pastries nor patrons.
  • Anullgam: Those who are both null and an amalgam in some way.
  • Deligam: Someone who is an amalgam that leans more towards pastry. Proposed by @rwuffles.
  • Devogam: Someone who is an amalgam that leans more towards patron/consumer. Also proposed by @rwuffles.
  • Delinull: Someone who is both null and a pastry, or has mixed characteristics of both. What this looks like is up to the user.
  • Devonull: Someone who is both null and a patron/consumer, or has mixed characteristics of both. What this looks like is up to the user.

Worldbuilding

  • Starvation: A term for heightened feelings of hunger within a patron, usually because they haven't eaten a pastry.
  • Delight/Treat: Roughly equivalent to misceverse's mates. It is someone whom you are partnered with for the sake of eating, whether you're eating them or they're eating you. Delights are not necessarily romantic. Treat was offered as an alternative by @the-astropaws.
  • Delightful/Treat Attraction: A fragarian attraction characterized by wanting to perform pastryverse dynamics with someone, or be in a relationship that has pastryverse dynamics with somebody. It is not romantic in nature (though can be felt alongside romantic attraction). This usually includes wanting to eat or be eaten by the other.
  • Patisserie: A term for an individual's unique pastryverse universe. Bakery was offered as an alternative by @cyberneticloverboy.
  • Flavor: Self-explanatory, it is the flavor that a pastry, amalgam, or delinull has. It does not have to be sweet, though it often is.
  • Flavor Preference: Also self-explanatory, it is the flavor(s) that a patron, amalgam, or devonull prefers. If a patron prefers savory flavors, for example, they may try to eat more savory pastries.
