Kobo Screams for Ice Cream

“Ice cream, ice cream~” Kobo happily skipped up the stairs of the Takamori house. Today was her favorite day of the week, when her parents took her out for a tasty frozen treat. However as she reached the door to her parents' stream room, she heard something that made her heart sink.

“God, this is unbelievable!” Calli roared.

“You stupid little sh*t, this is all your fault!” Kiara hissed in reply.

Her parents were…fighting? Tears began to well up in Kobo's eyes as she continued to listen in.

“I can't take this any more! This is ridiculous!” Calli howled, followed by the sound of something slamming.

“I'm done here, this is so over. I'm ending this now.” Kiara sighed.

No.. they couldn't get a divorce, especially not on ice cream day! Clenching her fists, Kobo hid in the closet in the hallway. She knew what she had to do.

A few hours later, Calli and Kiara left the stream room, both in high spirits.

“You were a godsend as always Calli, that bug was driving me insane.” Kiara chirped.

“Ahhhh, don't mention it! Was the least I could do. Oh yeah, sorry about all my raging earlier, friggin archers in that game drive me insane.”

“It's no problem! Now where's Kobo, it's time for us to head out for ice…wait, what is all this water on the floor?” A strange, almost otherworldly puddle of water lay in front of them, one that seemed to almost pull in Kiara as she stared at it.

“Huh? Not sure, maybe Kronii clogged the toilet again when she was over yesterday and WHOA!”

All of a sudden the world around them began to expand at a rapid pace. Looking around in a panic, the phoenix and reaper quickly realized they were the ones shrinking! Within seconds they had been reduced to a few centimeters in height, the puddle now expanding out like an ocean.

“Hey, what's the big idea?” Calli yelped, her feet now stuck in the mysterious water. “Let us go!”

“FUFUFU!” A familiar voice boomed, as Kobo emerged from the puddle.

“Kobo?!” Calli and Kiara squawked. “What are you doing, why did you shrink HURK!”

Takamori was stopped mid sentence as the now massive Kobo grabbed them each in one hand and brought them close. Her signature smugness plastered to her face standing in stark contrast to her tear soaked cheeks.

“Mom and dad…I won't…I won't let you get a divorce!”

“Kobo, what are you talking about?! Why would you think -” Calli's plea was interrupted as Kobo brought her and Kiara close. Holding her parents like a pair of dolls, the little rain shaman sniffled as she stared at them in anger.

“NO! You two are going to make up! I'm gonna make you be lovey dovey!” Despite her tiny size compared to her parents in normal circumstances, Kobo's grip at the moment was beyond superhuman, and despite their thrashing her two playthings were completely at her mercy. Pushing her mom and dad together like two wedding dolls, Kobo forced their lips to lock with one another. “KIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSS!”

While Takamori were always keen to show their affection for one another, this particular instance was anything but romantic. Kobo's forceful pushing made the kiss more akin to drowning than a loving embrace, and when the rain shaman was finally satisfied enough to separate the two, both devolved into a fit of hacks and coughs.

“KOBO WAIT!!! We weren't fighting! Please Kobo we were just streaming, listen to us!”

Calli's plea fell on deaf ears, as their indignant daughter was now focused on untying her shoe. As she slipped it off and placed it on the ground, a musky haze emerged. Even a normal sized person would have scrunched their noses at the scent, but for the tiny Calli and Kiara, even high above the shoe in Kobo's free hand, one whiff was almost enough to knock them out.

“KOBO STOP!” Calli shrieked, “WHAT ARE YOU DOING!”

“Mom and dad need some couple's therapy, so they're going to be spending a lot of time together, tee hee~”

Kobo playfully dangled her parents above her shoe, the foggy cloud of sweat and rain shaman musk creeping higher and higher. Then unceremoniously, she dropped the two into the shoe's open maw.

The scent was overwhelming, making it obvious that despite Takamori's daily insistence that Kobo wash her shoes and feet, the mischievous little goblin had ignored them. How a water spirit could possibly cultivate a musk this pungent was a complete mystery, but the extremely humid atmosphere generated by her sweaty socked foot was hardly a surprise. Struggling against the murky environment, any attempts at escape by reaper and phoenix were quashed as Kobo's massive socked foot slipped into the shoe. Sandwiched against each other, Takamori were trapped: Kobo's sweaty foot on one side and her unkempt shoe sole on the other. The loving duo could only cling to each other and hope that their ornery daughter came to her senses soon. That is, if she even remembered they were there.

Wiggling her toes happily, Kobo gleefully skipped out the door. “Yaaaay, it's ice cream time! Let's go Mom and Dad!” At the very least, one would hope Kiara and Calli had learned a very important lesson: never mess with Ice Cream Day.
