scotties dead by daylight newgen guide
welcome to my guide. dead by daylight FAAAWWWKINGG sucks at explaining concepts to new players, so here I am doing all the work. I'm mostly frankensteining other guides along with my own takes, but yknow whatever.
I mostly want to go over what I find most new players dont understand. Builds, Perks, Characters, and how to wisely spend your bloodpoints.
Dead by Daylight has been around since 2016, and as of me writing this there are 85 different characters. Since each character gets 3 unique perks, there are over 255+ perks currently in the game. A Good handful of perks however, are completely useless and never add anything to your gameplay. If you're new, I would avoid these 5 survivors and killers for perks:
Thalita, Cheryl, Trevor, Ace, Aestri/Baemar, and Ash. Darklord, Huntress, Wraith, Pig, and Houndmaster.
While these characters DO have perks that can be viable with certain builds, I wouldn't go for them early on. Thalita sucks though, none of her perks are good, never go for her.
The characters I WOULD go for however, are:
Kate, Meg, Feng, Dwight, and Claudette. Artist, Clown, Cannibal, Demogorgon and Knight.
Something important to mention, DBD can be played completely free (even though you're paying for the game anyways), but certain paid characters do have better perks. All original characters can be bought with in game currency, earned by leveling up or doing quests. Licensed characters can only be bought with real money. If you're tight on cash, wait for a sale. Usually you have two chances every year for sales, december (for holidays) and june-july (for anniversary). Playing without licensed characters ESPECIALLY as killer can be difficult, since they do have better perks, but it's not impossible.
