What is pole vaulting? h

The pole vault is a track and field discipline where you have to pass a bar at a cartain height with the help of a pole. This is not to be confused with high jump, which has the same objective as pole vault, but without any pole.

Who is Armand "Mondo" Duplantis? g

I frequently post about this athlete! He's the current world record holder in the pole vault, and has broken the world record six times in his career. He's only 23 years old, and most athletes retire in their mid 30's. It's so cool to witness what he's accomplishing at such a young age.

Do I pole vault myself? i

No, I don't, actually. It seems like a scary and difficult sport. But I would love to try it out one day. I've watched a lot of pole vault drills (aka training videos) and I think I could get the hang of it if I actually chose to do it.

Is pole vaulting dangerous? j

You can get injuries from pole vaulting, just like any other sport. But just because it may look dangerous doesn't mean that it is. Pole vault related injuries happen rarely and are usually minor, even in the rare cases where one's pole snaps. (Yes, that happens too.)

So who's the female champion in pole vault? m

The world record holder is Yelena Isinbayeva of Russia. She has retired since. The current female champion is Sandi Morris of USA, who's turning 31 this year, meaning that there will soon be a new champ in the women's pole vault after Morris retires! Fun fact: the women's PV has only officially been a sport since the year 2000.

Final paragraph! k

I love talking about pole vault, so if you've got any questions for me, go ahead. I may not know the answer to it since I'm not a professional, but I'll try my best. Remember to always jump safely and fly high.
